Vis and Hvar Islands Sea Kayak Adventure, Croatia - Day 7
Monday, 7th July End of the Tour in Hvar Town For our last day together the plan was to sail the southern coast of Hvar Island. But the jugo (southern wind) had blown in during the night, meaning it would be impossible to anchor in the small exposed bays. Instead we enjoyed (well some of us!) a [...]

      The Durance by Kayak
Got my first full day off today so I made use of the van which was driving up the valley to drop the rafters off for their assessment by chucking a Pyranha Burn, which I borrowed off another staff member, on the trailer so I could paddle down the river. Once on the river I realised that this was the first ever time I had kayaked down a river in the French Alps, or even France for that matter. Wow! Isn't that amazaing.Anyway the paddling was good. It was the Durance so it was just big, fast, bouncy class two/three for nine and a bit miles. The Rabioux Hole was fairly big as was Iron Bridge, but all was good. However I did feel rather wobbly in the boat, almost as if it was my first time on a river. I think it may be down to the fact that I wasn't in a Jackson Rocker and I hadn't padd

As the sun vanished over the horizon we set of across the milk pond they call Mahurangi harbour. Due to the small amount of light reflecting off the slither of moon it was easy to see the the phosphorous streaming off the paddles and bows of the yaks. Kayak fishing video (record tuna)
I have always admired people who fish from kayaks. This is probably because where I live big aggressive crocodiles are common and they would have no problem tipping over a kayak to eat the occupant! Fortunately big crocodiles aren't present all over the world and there is plenty of good kayaking waters ripe for the fishing.I found this great little video on youtube today of a guy catching a tuna from a kayak, which just so happens to be a 70 pound kayak fishing record tuna! Kayak Waikaremoana - Easter 2008
Day 0 - Auckland to Waikaremoana 6am the alarm clock sounded and within an hour we were on the road avoiding both rush hour and the Easter madness on the roads. It was a leisurely trip with a few stops along the way as we were in no rush and needed to pick up a few supplies along the way. Along the metal road a bus pulling over to allow a car to pass went over a bit too far sliding into the ditch so we offered them our assistance and before long we were all on our way. We eventually made it to the camp site at Waikaremoana late in the afternoon and startled the bunnies, perhaps a sign of things to come. We unpacked over a quiet beer welcoming the others as they arrived. Les and Gregor demonstrated how to pack their kayaks for those of us new to multi day overnight missions. Day 1 (East

      Negocios: Kayak compra Sidestep

Also a kayak can be outfitted with almost everything you need. Another advantage is you don't have to own a kayak you can rent one. And its not that expensive. Kayak.com Low Fare Tips
Seven steps to finding the LFP (lowest fare possible):It pays to plan ahead. The closer you are to your travelling day the more you pay. Why? Because a while back some smart guys and gals at an airline figured out that business travelers tend to schedule meetings at the last minute and have the least flexibility. So while the airlines stick it to the business folk, a well-organized vacationer can take advantage. For best fares, find your trip on Kayak 21 days or more in advance, for next best try for 14 or more. You still here? What are you waiting for?SMTWTFS? The flexibility to travel on another day can result in dramatically lower fares. So next time you search on Kayak, select the flexible dates option. You'll probably find that flying Saturday is cheaper (though not so much for international). Likewise, traveling mid-week (Tuesday or Wednesday) is usually cheaper than Monday or Thursday/Friday: consultants love to travel on Monday mornings and fly back Thursday (of course, they s

      My own private Kayak place...
One of my dreams is to have my own private kayaking place. I'd love to have a house right on a lake with a large garage full of hundreds of kayaks that I could take out on the lake at me leisure. I first need to find some land for sale and then find a way to finance the purchase of that land and the building of the house and the kayak garage. Outfitting my kayak getaway is going to take lottery money. Sure this is a pipe dream but man it would be sweet to wake up each morning and decide if I wanted to take the Eddyline or the Old Town out on the lake today.I know I would have so much fun out on the water day in and day out. If there was a way to turn that love of kayaking into a business where I could employ kayak instructors and we could film kayak safety videos and instructional videos as well as paddling adventure podcasts I think that would be amazing. It is a dream for now but once I hit the Mass Millions I'm making that a reality.

Gulf Coast Kayak Fishing Combining Fun, Fishing and Excercise
By the time mid-February comes around on the Gulf coast, signs of spring are usually in the air and have not gone unnoticed by fish and fishermen alike. Now that water temperatures have begun their climb to more accommodating levels, gamefish will soon become more accommodating, too, as the sun warms the shallow flats and baitfish gather on the shorelines. There is probably no better time of year than between February and May to catch a trophy speckled trout - for the wall, or a once in a lifetime photo, then quick release. This is particularly true if you are fishing the lower Texas coast. If it has survived in good health since its catch and release in May 2002, when it bottomed out a 15 lb. scale, there’s at least one speckled trout cruising the Laguna Madre that could easily best the current 17 lb. 7 oz. world record caught at Fort Pierce, Florida. One of the easiest and most stealthy ways to prowl the flats in search of heavy trout this time of year, as well as any other season fo

Tito Kayak Muere Asfixiado En La Luna

      Gadget: Kayak Security
I am considering bringing my kayak up from the Cape so I can go and paddle each morning before work. But I wonder if my kayak will be secure on top of my car while I am in the office. So I started looking around online for some way to make the kayak secure on my roof rack throughout the day.I found Lasso Security Cables and they have quite a few styles of Kayak security cables that you can use for single kayaks, touring kayaks and even tandem kayaks. It is such a simple concept I don't know why I was knocking my head against a wall wondering if there were security measures for my kayak.Help me Get Paid to Blog for a Year! the view from my window: kayak rescue
The other evening I witnessed a rescue operation in the sea in front of my place. What attracted me to the window was the sound of sirens -- lots of them. Twenty minutes earlier, I had seen a police car race down to Clover Point, which is not unusual since it's a common party place in the evenings. But now there were about four police cars and two ambulances heading down there. It could only mean one thing: someone was in the water.I got out my binoculars and scanned the ocean. It was really rough out there -- white caps, big waves and high winds. Sure enough, I saw two coast guard zodiacs fighting with the waves. One of them was pulling aboard a yellow single kayak, and the other was racing back to shore with two men wrapped in blankets. They were well enough to walk to the ambulance, so it didn't look like they were too hypothermic. But if they'd been in the water for 20 minutes, they're lucky to be alive. The water around here is extremely cold year-round.The biggest hassle the

Israel Bombardea Vieques En Represalia Por Actos De Tito Kayak

      Podcast: Kayak Journal Podcast
In my attempts to find out all there is to find out about Kayaking and Technology I came across this podcast: The Kayak Journal Podcast. This started as an audio podcast but has since grown into a video podcast. The episodes are short, up to about 5 minutes. great little snack sizes when you only have a couple of minutes to watch anything. The podcast has been around since August of 2005 but there are not many episodes. If you are interested in kayaking of any type then you should check out this podcast. The information from the early audio podcasts is very informative. I need to finish watching the rest of the video podcasts to make my determination of their importance. Bt from what I have seen so far they are quite entertaining.Help me Get Paid to Blog for a Year! Please Vote.If you liked this post Please Click a button.

Bio-Bay in Fajardo by Kayak or Boat - A Sparkling Experience
There are three bioluminescent bays (bio-bays) in Puerto Rico. One in the SouthWest - “La Parguera”, one on Vieques - “Mosquito Bay”, and the one in Fajardo - “La Laguna Grande”. Out of all three, Mosquito Bay is the brightest, and La Parguera is the least bright. La Laguna Grande [...]

      Kayak Shop: Cape Cod Kayak
My favorite Kayak shop on the Cape is Cape Cod Kayak. And I know I am very biased because I worked there for a while but it really is a great shop. Kim, the owner and head guide, is a great person and very knowledgeable of Kayaks and Kayaking. She also knows where to go in the Mashpee, Falmouth, Sandwich, and Bourne as well as many towns within the area of those named towns.Cape Cod Kayak also has a very nice event each summer and that is the lobster bake. There is also a unique event that Cape Cod Kayak hosts called the On Water Scavenger Hunt. This event is a lot of fun and is also a fund raiser for The Michael Fernandes Charity Foundation. If you want to participate contact Cape Cod Kayak and get at least $50.00 in pledges. My wife and I participated in the first On Water Scavenger Hunt a few years ago. We had an absolute blast. The Cape Cod Kayak shop is conveniently located on 28A in Cataumet right next door to a fantastic Ice Cream Shop called Somerset Creamery. So stop over, chec

      My Kayak..
My kayak is a Perception Acadia. It is from 1997 and is still in great shape. It is made of roto-molded plastic so it weighs a bit more than all the new stuff that is out today. It is blue and has webbing on the front and back, no hatches and a wide cockpit. It is a decent recreational boat. I like paddling in it even though it isn't as high tech as the newer sleeker and lighter boats. But the boat is mine and I love it. I haven't tested enough new boats yet to think about buying a new one. And since I didn't paddle at all last summer I cannot justify buying a new boat. So this season I will try and get out to some demo days (on water) that manufacturers have so that people can test out their boats. I'd like to find a longer, and lighter boat without a rudder. I am not a fan of the rudder but maybe that is because I haven't spent enough time on a boat that had a rudder.Perception is a decent brand and they make quality boats. The Acadia is now called the Acadia Expedition and inclu

Nissan’s 2009 Xterra Ready to Haul Your Kayak, 144 pack of TP
Nissan has revealed its modest refresh of the 2009 Xterra, and it's more offroady outdoorsy than ever. The once iconic, now ironic vehicle is still ready to tackle trails or haul your more traditional domestic possessions. The enlarged 4.0-liter VQ V6 carries over, with 261 hp and 281 lb ft of torque, hooked-up to a five-speed slushbox or a six-speed stick. Only a few comments here, because
