One thing I am is a huge supporter of Early Intervention (EI). With EI your child can get all the help he or she needs NOW, and in many cases, free. If your child has a significant delay in one area, a little help now can mean a LOT for their future. If it weren't for EI, Molly wouldn't be making the progress she is now...she probably would not be considered high-functioning at all. K might not be walking without the exercises we've learned, and her weekly PT sessions. That being said...one of my biggest pet peeves is people who worry about their child's development, but then sit back and do nothing. The easiest thing you can EVER do is say to your pediatrician, "Hey...I'm a little concerned, can we call EI and have an evaluation?" The WORST that will happen? EI will say, "He/She needs therapy." We finally were just contacted by DCF and thank God by divine intervention we were assigned a very understanding worker. The same woman who went out to the facility but was not able to see our daughter nor was she given any more information then that Ebony was discharged and family was refusing to pick her up. We quickly set the record straight as to what is happening and promised to come into the office on Monday with copies of all our paperwork. So far it can't be considered abandonment because we have maintained contact with the facility and our daughter. They also cannot demand us to take her home when they are saying she needs more care than we can give , that would be considered medical neglect on their part. The caseworker was also quite upset to hear that the facility for months now has been pressuring us to relinquish our parental rights. The problems haven't been solved yet but it looks like our daughter is going to get the help she needs without us having to relinquis

New Delhi, May 22 (IANS) The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) Tuesday urged Punjab not to take a soft stance on the growing intervention of religious bodies, with the state witnessing week-long clashes between the Dera Sacha Sauda sect and Sikhs.
The CPI-M politburo said this on a day when Punjab was crippled by a curfew-like situation in several places due to a shutdown called by Sikh groups and religious leaders against controversial Dera leader Gurmit Ram Rahim.
Expressing deep concern over the developments in Punjab, the CPI-M also asked the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state to pursue the “actions of the Dera Sacha Sauda” that have come under the “purview of the law.”
