      Moving Interstate - Removalists
Although I’ve only moved within the state of NSW, I have a few friends that have done the long distance move from one state to another. They tell me that when interstate moving your choice of removalist is absolutely critical as several additional factors come into play when compared to a move around the suburbs. By choosing your removalist wisely and planning your move, you will be able to save money which you can then use for the housewarming party! There are various tasks that you can do to make sure that your interstate move isn’t costly. Here are some tips to get started: Think about the heavy items - Removalists may not charge by the kilogram but heavier and bulkier items take more time to lift, load and unload which all adds up to more money. Unless of sentimental value, try to think without bias on whether certain items that you own really are needed when moving interstate. The garage sale - Everyone loves a garage sale, and you never know what an unwanted item may

Modest Mouse - Interstate 8 (EP)
is the second out-of-print EP by indie rock band Modest Mouse, released on Up Records in 1996. It contains the band's original demo, Live in Sunburst Montana, which was recorded in Isaac Brock's garage in Issaquah, Washington. All but one of the studio songs not included in earlier Modest Mouse albums were included on the Building Nothing Out of Something rarities compilation released in 1999. This song, "Edit the Sad Parts" is joined by "Buttons to Push the Buttons" as the only songs not available in some form on another Modest Mouse release, though both appeared again later on the label compilations.

      Interstate 70 Thoughts
Returning from my weekend getaway I discovered something I didn’t know: The rest area atop the summit of Vail Pass, (between Vail and Copper Mountain,) is VERY nice! Clean bathrooms, access to hiking trails, and plenty of parking. And in the middle of the summer when it’s 90 in the city, it feels great to stop the car and stretch in crisp 60 degree air. The second?  Well it’s more of an observation than a realization:  You really should forego the lemon yellow “Support Our Troops” stickers if you’re going to be driving this, which is hauling this… which is hauling this… I don’t even know what the hell is under that tarp. Perhaps a grill requiring another few barrels of crude? Yeah yeah I’ll shut up. We’re Americans and we have the right to drive whatever the blah blah… Besides I do feel safer now that 10 U.S. troops died on this same Saturday, perhaps taking their last breaths of air at the exact sam

      Smash-up on the Galactic Interstate.
Four galaxies are crashing into each other in one of the largest collisions ever seen, scientists say. The galactic crash was spotted by astronomers using NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope, which detected a fan-shaped plume coming from a cluster of galaxies nearly five billion light-years away. When fully merged, the new galaxy will be up to ten times as large as the Milky Way, astronomers said. "Most galaxy mergers are like small pickup trucks filled with sand colliding," explained Kenneth Rines, an astronomer at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. "This big merger is like four big rigs full of sand colliding and flinging sand everywhere. In this case, each grain of sand represents an individual star!" Interstate State Park at Taylors Falls, Minnesota
We visited Interstate State Park in Taylor's Falls this weekend. The Taylors Falls Queen, one of the excursion boats run by Wild Mountain, was docked at the park. They have 30 minute or 80 minutes daily excursions available. You can bring your own picnic lunch, or there is a snack bar on board to satisfy anyone with the munchies. Dogs are allowed on board as long as they are leashed at all times. Dinner, picnic and specialty cruises are also available.Wild Mountain also offers canoe and kayak rental at the park's canoe base. You can paddle from the park to the Osceola Landing 7 miles away, or to William O'Brien State Park 17 miles away. The first trip takes about 2-3 hours, and the second one takes about 5-7 hours. There is a shuttle at both landings so you can return to your car.Wild Mountain itself is about 7 miles north of Taylors Falls. During the summer, you can cool off at the waterpark or try out the alpine slides and go-karts.We stayed at Interstate State Park thi

Dump truck damages bridge on Interstate 5
A dump truck with its trailer bed in the raised position crashed into the North Fork of the Lewis River bridge on southbound Interstate 5, then was struck by a tractor-trailer early Thursday morning. According to the Washington State Patrol, a 1996 Kenworth dump truck driven by David Olson, 43, of Woodland left the yard of Groat Brothers Transportation in Woodland around 2:30 a.m. with the trailer’s bed upright. The raised bed snagged some power lines in Woodland. Olson continued, entering the southbound lane of I-5 from Woodland. About a mile down the freeway, the trailer hit a metal support beam of the North Fork bridge. That caused the dump container to come off the trailer frame, blocking the right lane. Olson stopped a short distance away, also blocking the right lane. Soon after, a 2005 Volvo tractor-trailer owned by Swift Transportation and driven by Timothy Price, 21, of Bend, Ore., collided with the dump container lying on the freeway. The dump container flew into the ai
