During a conversation with Morne Pienaar outside the office, I was informed about the second studio’s new paint job. Its great to see the second years are doing things for themselves and taking initiative to change their space for the better (or so I thought). I told Morne that on one particular Wednesday, I walked into the second year studio to see the Blackboard cube that Justin and I built last year being used exactly how we envisioned it to be. Groups of students being taught on a massive board that allows the lecturer enough space to draw to their heart’s content. He then told me that unfortunately they can’t do that anymore. In a final kick in the crotch UK buyers, following the 4 month delay from it’s US / Japanese release, the fact that UK buyers will have to pay a load more for it and the lack of the more affordable 20GB version as an option, Sony have announced that the UK / European version of the PS3 will have drastically reducedbackwards compatibility with PS2 and PSX games. This is due to the european version being redesigned with less chips dedicated to backwards compatibility, their role being taken over by software, which stinks of cost reductions, which is particularly inappropriate as Europe and the UK will pay a significantly higher price than their American and Japanese counterparts, even when VAT is taken into account.
Sony seems determined to treat thier european customers as shabbily as possible, overcharging them for inferior products which are late.

It's an excellent article, although rather critical of Canada.Islamic extremists are ascendant among the world's 1 billion Muslims thanks to their successes, which are nothing more than our failures. American voters, whether they realize it or not, have chosen the path of Europe, of Canada - wealthy, smug democracies that profess concern for the oppressed but will do little for them, little even in their own defense.Yes, we in Canada have a long way to go, but it's rather unfair to compare us with the Europeans. Canada may be full of prideful, know-it-all liberals with surprisingly narrow-minded, even bigoted views, but we also have many decent, hard-working individuals with common sense. Some of them are over in Afghanistan, in case the Americans forgot. Crittenden makes a good point nonetheless. The Republicans may have caused their own downfall
