Win Cooper thought he was going to be fine when the MBT replaced the Single Business Tax. As president and founder of Flint-based Cooper Commercial Group Ltd., and Commercial Board of Realtors 2008 president, he is as informed as anyone in the industry. He thought he was fine because one of the changes includes a tax on all gross receipts - including charges on which property owners don't make money, such as maintenance or snow removal - only charged when they are higher than $350,000. Cooper has three businesses; each of them would have barely felt the impact of that tax, if at all.But his accountant

Bamboo clothes - future of the garment industry?
Making textile from bamboo does not seem to be any more strange than making clothes from wood. Yes, they do. The wood fiber is called viscose, and the fabric is very soft and nice to wear. Bamboo fiber is made in much the same way as viscose, but the bamboo has a lot of other nice properties, besides being soft. Here are some of them. Bamboo fiber absorbs perspiration and will not stick to your skin. It's great ability to breath makes bamboo garments particularly comfortable in hot temperatures. They are also warm in cold weather. Bamboo is also naturally anti-bacterial and this makes bamboo clothing stay fresh and odor free longer. It is also anti-static, UV protecting and anti fungal. Bamboo is also considered environmentally friendly since it grows like wildfire, and does not require g

China and India have access to low cost labour and car components, which can significantly alter the cost of a car. This is precisely the reason why European and American car manufacturers like General Motors, BMW and Mercedes are setting up base in India. However, when these company show profits, while clearly stating they are going for cost cutting, now hue and cry is raised. Dirty Drug Industry Secret: Their Pills are Made in China
Not long ago, the FDA warned Americans not to buy prescription drugs from Canada because they might be "contaminated by terrorists." What the FDA didn’t bother to mention, however, is that most pharmaceutical drugs purchased in the U.S. are manufactured in places like China and Puerto Rico. Foreign drugs were dangerous, the FDA warned, because they were not subjected to rigorous quality control requirements -- the implication being, of course, that brand-name pharmaceuticals sold in the U.S. are not so contaminated. This has been proven to be yet another lie. Heparin, a blood-thinning drug made by Baxter International, was recently discovered by consumers to be manufactured in China, where the quality controls were so low that this FDA approved, brand-name drug was apparently deliberately

On the contrary I think the slow down will not really impact the industry much in terms of overall growth. There could be a bit of a slow down and some pricing pressure. China’s Burgeoning Power Industry
China presents the greatest energy market opportunity that has ever existed. As a result of the country’s incredible growth over the past ten years, its installed power generation capacity and output are now second only to the US.Moreover, experts estimate that with average GDP growth of only 6.5%, China will need 48GW of new capacity each year though 2020 – that is, each year China will build the equivalent of two thirds of the UK’s total installed capacity today (Capgemini, China Electricity Market 2006). Yet even with this growth, China’s per capita consumption of electricity in 2020 will only reach the level of the US in the 1950s. This means growth is going to continue for a long time.

8 Dirty Secrets Of The Security Industry
I just read this article called 8 Dirty Secrets Of The Security Industry, which seems pretty nasty. Let's briefly have a look at them: Vendors do not need to be ahead of the hackers; they only need to be ahead of the buyer: Wow, this is a bad statement – but how true is it? It might be true.
