"One thing that always gets to people who have never read comics before is the superhero genre’s use of the secret identity. They are used to secret identities for spies, a profession that specifically requires the need to be in the shadows and out of the limelight, but for superheroes, who constantly find themselves at the center of the public’s attention, the idea of a secret identity defies

let me ask you a simple yet confusing question, how many identities you own in the internet? It would not be easy for most you to answer. The yahoo, Google, AOL, MSN, blogger and so on. There are many services over the internet, and each time you register for a service, you are adding another identity. Haven't you felt this is getting unmanageable over a course of time? In mathematics, an identity is a statement true for all possible values of its variable or variables. The algebraic identity of x + 0 = x tells us that anything (x) added to zero equals the original "anything," no matter what value that "anything" (x) may be. Like ordinary algebra, Boolean algebra has its own unique identities based on the bivalent states of Boolean variables. The first Boolean identity is that the sum of anything and zero is the same as the original "anything." This identity is no different from its real-number algebraic equivalent: No matter what the value of A, the output will always be the same: when A=1, the output will also be 1; when A=0, the output will also be 0. The next identity is most definitely different from any seen in normal algebra. Here we

Marketing Week (Apr 24 2008) - The Ethiopian Government has appointed design consultancy Brandhouse to create branding for the country's speciality coffees. Brandhouse will design an umbrella brand for Ethiopian Fine Coffees and logos for the Yirgacheffe, Sidamo and Harrar varieties. This is intended to protect and promote the recently trade-marked coffee brands and raise the prices received by Ethiopian growers for their beans. The trademark application in the US was opposed by Starbucks, which sells Sidamo coffee in its cafés, but the chain relented after lobbying by Oxfam in support of the Ethiopian move. The branding will be used wherever the varieties are sold, including blends which contain them.Brandhouse account director Lisa McWilliam says: "It will be used as a premium seal for Et

Obviously the study of architecture isn't all about designing buildings. The pursuit of the degree expects some sort of contemplation and criticism of the space around us. I wrote an essay recently, and here is the forward:In this essay, the author explores how “borrowed authority is elusive in nature” and how “construction of historical identities is fluid”. Through the examination of selected works of Glenn Murcutt, and the contemporary revitalisation of Malagasy architecture, the author draws towards a resolution that the notion of borrowed authority is a concept that can exist within an architect’s attempt to possibly rectify the intrusion of imposed and dominating architectural languages. The author then concludes that there cannot be a finite answer for an architect when resolving past architectural impositions in an attempt to revive a native architectural vernacular and thus shows that not only is historical, but architectural identity fluid. Here are a few sketches f
This internet dating story by Wired Magazine has all the makings of a psychotic movie, complete with romance, jealousy, and murder.
Thomas Montgomery, a 45-year-old husband of 16 years and father of two teenage girls was living out a fantasy by pretending to be Tommy, a 19 year old marine who was getting ready to ship out to Iraq and who stood 6 feet tall.
In a chat room on Pogo.com, he met Jessi, an 17-year-old West Virginia girl, with whom he completely fell in love with. What little did Montgomery know was that Jessi was really Jessi’s mom who was using her daughter’s IM account.
The two really hit it off online. Tommy proposed to Jessi after eight months of instant messaging every day and speaking on the phone. Jessi accepted and sent Tommy G-Strings. In a strange New Year’s Eve resolution, Montgomery wrote on his note : “On January 2, 2006, Tom Montgomery (46 years old) ceases to exist and is replaced by an 18-year-old battle-scarred marine”.

More Fathers Than Ever Are Primary CaregiversIt could have been any play group in the Washington area, except for the diaper bags. No Vera Bradley flowers, no pastel polka dots. The bags lying around Matt Vossler's Rockville living room Tuesday afternoon were dark Eddie Bauer canvas. One was red but, as its owner quickly pointed out, "very metrosexual.""Potty training was a lot of angst for me," Vossler, 43, a onetime paralegal, told the group."Bottle feeding was my angst," said Matt Trebon, 36, a former Capitol Hill staffer, as his 3-year-old daughter nuzzled his side."And trying to get them to eat well," Vossler continued, bringing up his 6-year-old. "Martin is all carbs.""Eight days -- no diapers!" Trebon suddenly announced, thrusting his fists into the air. With their wives as breadwinners, the fathers are part of a small but growing group of men who are quitting or retooling their careers to stay home with their children. This from the Washington Post.

Some of our readers e-mailed us asking if we know what happened with the e-mail identities in Windows Mail. In Outlook Express, if multiple people were sharing the same computer, they had the possibility to create different identities to keep their e-mail separate from others.
According to this post, found on the Windows Vista Help pages, the ability to create e‑mail identities has been removed in Windows Mail. Instead, Windows Mail enables you to create separate Windows user accounts for each person who wants to use e‑mail on a single computer.

In writing workshops I’ve often heard people say if they knew their family and friends never read their writing, it would be easier to write. Part of it comes from the fear of disappointment. Another reason is the fear of inadvertently hurting someone. Or they want to write things they normally wouldn’t write. Experiment with different genres. Or separate their “real life” identities from their writing identities. French author Romain Gary had written over thirty books and had won numerous literary prizes when he began writing under the pseudonym Emile Ajar. As Emile Ajar he published four best selling novels. In his posthumously published memoir, he stated that the motive for using a pseudonym was he wanted “to be someone else.” Journalist Samuel Clemens wrote fiction as Mark Twain. The Bronte sisters originally published their novels under male pseudonyms. Dean Koontz published five gothic novels as Deanna Dwyer. Literary author Joyce Carol Oates writes mysteries as Rosam

In what is a worrying case, a mortgage company employee has been indicted for selling files of personal information. The case shows the value criminals put on your personal information and credit record, according to the FBI he offered to sell the files for a mere $50 each. More follows below: In the following press release United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein announced that Robert Michael Stewart, age 26, of Timonium, Maryland, was indicted (on January 17, 2007) for fraud in connection with identity information (identity theft) and aggravated identity theft in a scheme to sell stolen personal and financial information. According to court documents, Stewart sought to sell 325 folders of personal and financial information that he gained, or had access to, from his employment at a Pikesville, Maryland mortgage company. Initially, Stewart had over 200 folders at his residence, which he intended to be sold to others, who would use the information to o
Contemporary parents, tired of common, pronounceable designations like Emily or Michael, have been gravitating toward more elaborate, esoteric names for several decades. As culture has crested the 21st Century, American parents – who find their individuality subjugated to an overwhelmingly homogenized ex-urban strip-mall ethos – are turning to outlandish child ...
