Verizon claims latest LG offering is an “iPhone killer”
By Todd Haselton | Published: October 04, 2007  It’s been intense lately, enough to give a hardware guru whiplash; everybody has been calling nearly every new object a potential iPhone killer. One of these days someone’s going to release a land-line phone with a web browser, and for some reason, someone’s going to stand up and call it an iPhone killer. It’s bizarre. Regardless, today is one of the first times that a company executive, not a fan boy, has actually stood up and claimed that its latest phone is going to “kill the iPhone.” The company in reference? Verizon. The phone? Its latest offering from LG, the Voyager VX 10000.  “We think it’ll be the best phone… this year. It will kill the iPhone,” Verizon Wireless Chief Marketing Officer Mike Lanman told Reuters while discussing the LG Voyager. The latest phone’s features include a front touch screen, as well as the ability to open up similar to an enV to reveal ye

Verizon’s New Phone is an iPhone Killer!
Verizon (VZ) just launched what has been dubbed the “iPhone Killer.” Fortunately, Apple has little to worry about. The new VZ Voyager, which was also created by LG, was first introduced to the public in May of this year. The phone has a “flip-open” QWERTY style keyboard, along with a somewhat large touchscreen face. The phone also has: A Web browser Media player Bluetooth Camera Possibly GPS navigation The catch? The phone looks like a spruced up Palm Treo and the screen is full of the those tiny icons. Verizon and LG have essentially copied the iPhone screen characteristics by placing wireless information (bluetooth, status, etc.) and battery stats at the top, and including a bottom navigation bar. Without furtherado: It’s certainly an attempt, but in all honesty, the phone will have a hard time competing with the iPhone, regardless of pricing. The phone is expected to come out some time around Thanksgiving.

HTC Touch : iPhone killer ...
Now it has arrived, and after a month of use, how has it held up to the hype – and how will it hold up to the iPhone? The N95 has finally been available to buy over the past few weeks, and soon to be much more widely available, has seen months of hype and high anticipation, justified by the strong feature set that sets the N95 apart from a mere cell phone and transforms it into a true multitasking, handheld, Internet connected multimedia computer that does a lot of things and does them all well. Combining many different features into one usable device and ensuring that each has enough quality to actually keep the user happy, or even impress the user, has long been the goal of convergence. For years, converged devices were jacks of all trades, and masters of none, or barely one main function. Ye
