According to AppleInsider, Apple should be soon releasing new iMacs just before the Christmas holidays. The new iMacs are expected to be a product refresh and are expected to have a lot of the same updates as the new MacBooks just released including updated Nvidia GPUs, updated DisplayPort, and updated Intel CPUs.
Apple has added even more power to its popular, and eye catching iMac line. All new iMacs now offers faster Intel processors, including a powerful 2.8GHz option on the largest 24-inch model. With 2GB of memory standard (on two configurations), you'll be able to simply do more than ever before with less drag in processing performance.

Fuente|The Inquirer ES
"Apple could be getting ready for the advent of the educational buying season with new iMacs. So says GeekSugar, which has a post up Thursday claiming Apple's about to tweak the all-in-one iMac desktop. It doesn't sound like much of an overhaul, just a speed bump to Intel's latest Penryn processors used by the MacBook and MacBook Pro and a larger hard drive, with no major design changes expected. Apple hasn't updated the iMac since introducing a new design for the lineup last August."[via cnet news]

Now you can emulate Windows without Parallels — at least the crashing part. Apparently the snazzy new iMacs Apple recently introduced are having some issues with UI freezes.

AppleInsider has learned that Apple’s popular line of iMac personal computers are about to undergo a substantial facelift that will showcase striking new industrial designs aimed at leaving both competitors and onlookers smitten.
People familiar with the matter say the Cupertino-based Mac maker has called upon its award-winning design chief Jonathan Ive and his team to cut the fat from the the current iMac line and outfit a pair of new Core 2 Duo-based models in a form factor that will be both slimmer and sleeker than today’s offerings.
For Apple, the impending iMac makeover will represent the first major industrial design overhaul to hit its flagship all-in-one consumer desktop line in nearly three years. The last eye candy to accompany an iMac update came back in August of 2004, when the company retired its “sunflower” iMac G4 design while introducing the portrait-style iMac G5.
