Apple’s svelte iMac computers always turn heads. But I’m also smitten with the Mac’s rock solid OS X operating system and top-shelf iLife software suite — programs that tame pictures, videos and more. En un tiempo record, tan solo unas 6 horas tras su lanzamiento, los nuevos iMac, los cuales vienen equipados con un nuevo modelo de teclado que cambia mucho del que existía hasta ahora adoptando un diseño prácticamente igual al del teclado del Macbook, ya están en el mercado y las fotografías de su desempaquetado en una web, que en este caso es en ArsTechnica. Apple continúa con sus detalles, todo bien ordenado y en su lugar correcto. Apple ya ha cursado las correspondientes invitaciones por teléfono para un evento que celebrará en su cuartel general el próximo martes. Al conocer la noticia muchos hemos pensado en nuevos iPods, pero desde Apple han querido no dejar mucho espacio a la imaginación y han marcado un camino claro: previsiblemente solo se hablará de Mac. Los rumores pues giran completamente en torno a la presentación de los nuevos iMac, previsiblemente aquellos metálicos que tanto gustaron. AppleInsider has learned that Apple’s popular line of iMac personal computers are about to undergo a substantial facelift that will showcase striking new industrial designs aimed at leaving both competitors and onlookers smitten.
People familiar with the matter say the Cupertino-based Mac maker has called upon its award-winning design chief Jonathan Ive and his team to cut the fat from the the current iMac line and outfit a pair of new Core 2 Duo-based models in a form factor that will be both slimmer and sleeker than today’s offerings.
For Apple, the impending iMac makeover will represent the first major industrial design overhaul to hit its flagship all-in-one consumer desktop line in nearly three years. The last eye candy to accompany an iMac update came back in August of 2004, when the company retired its “sunflower” iMac G4 design while introducing the portrait-style iMac G5.
