      Hungarian Neo-Nazis Demonstrate In Budapest
Before and during World War II, there was a strong pro-Nazi right wing group in Hungary which actively supported Hitler’s ideas and carried out brutal actions against Hungarian Jews which resulted in the death of thousands. It is not surprising that descendants of those nationalist extremists are alive and well in modern Hungary. The Magyar [...]

A Hungarian rhapsody in steamy-hot spa waters
By M.D Spenser BUDAPEST, Hungary — A hint of snow chilled the air as half a dozen men clustered around a chessboard, frowning, wearing nothing but swimsuits. Two of them were playing. The rest were watching. And all were up to their necks in the mineral-filled hot water that bubbles up from 4,000 feet below the city of Budapest. The water, thought to cure arthritis and known to cause relaxation, i

I'm totally ecstatic to say that the Mclaren triumphed over the Ferrari again.Although it was not the perfect race for me since Lewis Hamilton finished only fifth, I did enjoy the race especially when Felipe Massa's engine broke with just three laps remaining. The Mystery of Hungarian Beatboxing
So I recently ran across an album that blew me away. It's called Ertem a Kujonsagot. I don't know how to say that. I don't know what it means. And I know almost nothing about the group behind the music. The band is Zuboly, and they hail from Hungary. (My Hungarian-ancestored friend Juli says their name is pronounced Zu-bowl, or something like that.)Zuboly does something that appears to be a blend of traditional and experimental along with...wait for it... beatboxing! I can't explain why it works, but it does. Remember when you whistled using a piece of grass? Well, one of the Zuboly members seems to have become accomplished at that, playing actual melodies. Also harmonica, drums, bass, sax, bagpipes. And a fellow named Busa Istvan is apparently responsible for the beatboxing. Here are a couple brief song samples from the album: Boldog Karácsonyt M.J., D.J a Gekkoman And yes, I have a complete song for you as well. Is it a cover, or just sampling? Whatever, this is surely one of th

Lewis Hamilton wins the Hungarian Grand PrixMcLaren’s Lewis Hamilton took a dramatic revenge on team mate Fernando Alonso at the Hungaroring on Sunday afternoon, leading throughout the Hungarian Grand Prix to extend his world championship points lead to seven over the Spaniard, who could do no better than fourth place.Hamilton jumped into the lead at the start, but soon came intense pressure from Kimi Raikkonen as the Ferrari indeed proved a lot better in race trim than it had in qualifying.Raikkonen easily got the drop on front-row starter Nick Heidfeld in the BMW Sauber, but couldn’t quite muster the pace to challenge Hamilton, even though in traffic at times the gap between them was no more than half a second. The final laps were gripping as they duelled, while some 40 seconds back, Heidfeld was challenged by Alonso but similarly had little trouble keeping the McLaren driver at bay to score the second podium of BMW Sauber’s season.Fifth place fell to Heidfeld’s team mate Rob

Formula 1 - Hungarian GP Race Review With Video
In this review I will focus on the race itself. What I think of McLaren and Ferrari camps is here and in another post as well. For race results click here:McLarenHamilton did not do much wrong during the race. Heidfeld starting from the dirty side of the track was never a threat to him and Kimi on P3 was a bit too far behind to challenge him at the start. At times Kimi was getting quite close but without a mistake the overtaking was out of the question. Pit stops posed the only danger. But when both Kimi and Hamilton came in at the same time for the first stop and left without change in the track position Hamilton could have begin to believe the race is in the bag.Alonso had a tough task to salvage something from the race after being demoted to P6. He lost few places early on, but clawed them back and at the end made up 2 more places to finish 4th. Not a bad result.FerrariKimi made a good start. He gained a position and kept it for the rest of the race. He also recorded the fastest lap

      Qualifying: Hungarian GP; Kimi Fourth
Jean Todt: A very disappointing qualifying for us, with one driver fourth and the other fourteenth. Felipe, who made a small mistake on his first run in Q2, then lost precious time because of a misunderstanding about refuelling between the pit wall and the garage. Then, on tyres that were definitely not at the ideal temperature, he was unable to improve his time and thus finished outside the top ten. For his part, Kimi could have reasonably hoped to have finished third, but just missed his target and ended up fourth. We know that anything can happen in the race, but we also have to be realistic and accept that we will have to fight our way up the order, especially in Felipe's case. However, as usual, the final verdict only comes on Sunday afternoon.Kimi Raikkonen: To be honest, we were not quick enough today to think about beating our closest rivals, but I think we have a good race pace, which means we can be more competitive than we looked in qualifying. The car is very good over a l

      Formula 1 - Hungarian GP - Qualifying - Massa P14 Only ...
Alonso stole the pole position from Hamilton in his final run. It looked though that Alonso's final pit stop delayed Hamilton and prevented him from making one more qualifying run. Ron Dennis did not seem too happy after the session and that says something when he has both cars on the front row... P3 went to Nick Heidfeld and P4 to Kimi Raikkonen. This is probably the first time this season there is no Ferrari in top 3 on the grid. Nico Rosberg will start from respectable P5. The story of the session must be Felipe Massa not making it to Q3.Not really sure what happened there. He stopped at the end of the pitlane just before his final Q2 to run. His crew pushed him back to restart him. He then went for his qualifying run but failed to break into top 10. He will have to start from P14. Fisichella is on P9 at the moment but he is under investigation for blocking Sakon Yamamoto.Qualifying was a disaster for Honda, they did not make it to Q2. The radio communication even suggest that Hond

It looks like the Ferraris found some way to work out their set up. Massa was well clear of anybody else in the final free practice. However Kimi finished the session behind both McLarens and Heidfeld's BMW. Alonso and Hamilton were pretty much evenly matched in this session. It was good session for Williams with both cars in top 10. Renault, after quick times on Friday afternoon, went back down the grid again. Yamamoto seems to be getting more familiar with the car, the gap between him and Sutil is shrinking fast. Liuzzi seems to have upper hand over his new team mate Vettel at the moment. All 3 free practice sessions brough very mixed up results, we have to wait for Q1 to see who really stands where.Saturday Practice Results Here

Kubica clocked fastest time of the 1st practice session. Who knows whether this is the display of real strength of BMW package or is it a result of low fuel run to please the huge army of his followers present at the track. Both Ferraris were behind the McLarens most of the time, especially in the 2nd sector. However towards the end of the session both Massa and Raikkonen outpaced the McLarens. This was decent session again for Rosberg, Honda and Toyota also will be happy. Renault as is becoming the tradition this year start their weekend way back down. Yamamoto has some job to do, so far he is quite a bit behind his team mate. Formula 1 - Hungarian GP Preview
Before we head for 3 weeks summer break we still have a goulash party to attend in Hungary. Formula 1 arrived to Hungary in 1986 as a first and only race held behind the former Iron Curtain. This year will be 22nd Fomula 1 race in Hungary and amazingly I have never heard this usually processional race to be under any danger from Bernie …The track sits on the top of the countryside just outside of Budapest. Combine this with the middle of the summer in Central Europe and you get one hot and dusty race on otherwise not very used track. There has never been a wet race here until 2006…The drivers have to negotiate 70 laps on tight and twisty track. There are basically no overtaking opportunities here and only one sort of long (or longer) straight. This track is very demanding on the machinery with lots of gear changes and breaking. The dusty nature of the track can punish trips outside of the racing line with trips to the barriers. The required set up is low grip and high downforce.. G

Hungarian Wine Tradition - By Carl Hoffman
By Carl Hoffman Despite what many may think, the area known as Hungary holds more wine tradition than any other country in Europe. Most of this very tradition is just now surfacing in the light, with people finally starting to catch wind about everything Hungarian wine has to offer. Even though many wine drinkers aren’t familiar with Hungary - there are many who are. Hungary is home to over 20 wine regions, fully of forests, vineyards, and orchards. With several different varieties of grapes to offer, the vineyards found in Hungary have flourished since the great Roman Times. The weather in Hungary is seasonal to say the least, with cold winters and extremely hot summers. This weather allows the soil in the country to be diverse, which allows wine makers to create a variety of quality wines. Despite the communist control in the past, there are several different wines found in Hungary. Although the vineyards here produce a lot of excellent wines, Tokay Aszu is by far the favori

Ethical Marketing – from magazine subscriptions to Hungarian ghoulash
In the previous blog posting I talked about creating content around hungarian ghoulash as a way of delivering something that someone wants because they have told you they want it. I suppose in our business we could have written an article about how to subscribe to a magazine and buy a magazine subscription for a cheap price. But no one would buy such a product because they would rather just go right to the magazine subscription service online and just subscribe at a discount right on the site. They don’t need an intermediate step. To sell a product well – even something like a simple magazine subscription to something as ubiquitious as Cosmopolitan magazine, it is very important to use powerful selling words to really convey each and every little benefit that your product has to convince the prospect to turn into a customer. It is not uncommon to see words like “unbelievable” and “phenomenal” and something along those lines in really great sales letters but this does

      Hungarian Monument
The Citadella is one of the most exciting monuments in Budapest, Hungry. Built in 1854, the Citadella was the most despised structure in the city. The Austrians built this fortress to keep Budapest under their thumb. This structure sits on a hill and overlooks the entire city and the Danube River. I liked this online photo and proceeded to sketch it while looking at my computer screen. I used pencil first to get the basic structure and shapes, and drew in about half of the inkwork. I finished the remaining inkwork and watercolors at my drawing board.

      The Hungarian Golden Team
Since Hungary's national football team is currently terrible, it is good to look back to the old times when the Hungarian Golden Team was the best in the world. Hungary was the first European team which defeathed the English national team on home soil. In 1953 they stunned England with a 6-3 win at Wembley Stadium. At their next meeting in 1954 Hungary's national team was even more fantastic:
