Human movement obeys basic laws that govern static and dynamic bodies, and this textbook takes a quantitative approach to studying human biomechanics. The book features numerous homework problems and worked examples, both of which are vital for classroom use. The book will be welcomed by teachers of engineering mechanics, statics and dynamics, and biomechanics courses that assume familiarity with calculus and vectors.
There are many things in life that make you say, "The human body is an amazing thing."Like when you get a cut on your lip and it's healed in a few days.Or when you see really short people and think, "Where do all the organs go?"But one thing that really shows how the body is an amazing thing is martial arts. With training the human body can do things that look amazing.Check out Tae Yun Kim from South Korea. She is a prominent martial artist, but not only that, she is a spiritual group leader too. She claims to be "The Highest Ranking Females Martial Artist in the World".She started training at the age of seven. (Don't you sometimes wish you parents would've made you do thing from the age of seven, because it's the only way to be world class at them.) She founded the art of Jung SuWon,
The picture above says it all; about management, marketing, sales, design, all new social media or SEO etc. By & large, every facet of modern day business can be explained with this model. Drawing inspiration from the human anatomy, it is interesting to watch that every part works in tandem to bring coherence to our development & continued survival. So is business different from the above model? One part is organizations talk about multi-million dollar budgets for their marketing & advertising campaigns whereas overlooking nicher yet multi-faceted dimensions of involving customers through measures of Social Media or Web Development etc. Hence coherence is necessary among different divisions and dimensions of business like all the small parts combine together to form a perfect hu

An Indonesian fisherman who feared that he would be killed by tree-like growths covering his body has been given hope of recovery by an American doctor - and Vitamin A.Dede, now 35, baffled medical experts when warty "roots" began growing out of his arms and feet after he cut his knee in a teenage accident. The welts spread across his body unchecked and soon he was left unable to carry out everyday household tasks.Sacked from his job and deserted by his wife, Dede has been raising his two children - now in their late teens - in poverty, resigned to the fact that local doctors had no cure for his condition. To make ends meet he even joined a local "freak show", parading in front of a paying audience alongside victims of other peculiar diseases.Although supported by his extended family, he wa
Scientists have counted over 500 different liver functions. In 1 square inch of skin there lies 4 yards of nerve fibers, 1300 nerve cells, 100 sweat glands, 3 million cells, and 3 yards of blood vessels. The structural plan of a whale's, a dog's, a bird's and a man's 'arm' are exactly the same. The world's first test-tube twins were born in June 1981. There are 45 miles of nerves in the skin of a human being. In a year, a person`s heart beats 40,000,000 times. Most people blink about 25 times a minute. Each square inch of human skin consists of twenty feet of :blood vessels. Nerve impulses to and from the brain travel as fast as 170 miles per hour. Your stomach has to produce a new layer of mucus every two weeks otherwise it will digest itself. Your left lung is smaller than your right lung to make room for your heart. You use an average of 43 muscles for a frown. You use an average of 17 muscles for a smile.Every two thousand frowns creates one wrinkle. The average human blinks hi
I visited The Amazing Human Body Exhibition this week. Using the word amazing in a show is usually reserved for circus acts that aren't that amazing, but this was really amazing. The show is a display of real human bodies that have undergone plastination. Basically water is replaced with plastic at death, with willing donors of course, preserving the body forever. The Amazing Human Body Exhibition is on at Melbourne Docklands from 30 June to 1 October 2007. I have seen similar show advertised around the world ( a similar exhibition featured in the latest Bond movie Casino Royale), so highly recommended if this circus comes to your town.amazinghumanbody.com.au
Our body is composed of cosmic radiations and seven colors (rainbow colors), which become in balance in the course of time. It should be worn on the correct finger. Each gems with it constant source of specific ray gives rise to constructive vibration that have a therapeutic power. All gems have magnetic powers in varying degrees and many of them are beneficial to us for their therapeutic cures. They emit vibrations and frequencies, which have strong potential influence on our whole being. They create strong energy fields, which enable us to change with their energies. Gems are used for healing, transforming ,balancing, and attuning the body, mind and soul. They are a manifes

Hiccups happen when the diaphragm, the muscle that controls our breathing, becomes irritated and start to spasm and contract uncontrollably. With each contraction, air is pulled into the lungs very quickly, passes through the voice box, and then the epiglottis closes behind the rush of air, shaking the vocal chords, causing the "hic" sound. The irritation can be caused by
