Here’s the four wheeled bearded lady of the Goodwood Festival of Speed, courtesy of Kahn Design and (God help us) Cosworth. To us, spending tens of thousands of dollars on a vehicle, then affixing a bodykit to it that would make an ‘88 Grand Am sneer seems a bit nonsensical.

I remember my mother was not well that time. Whatever she took, it would only take her a few minutes to have the uncontrollable urge to rush to the toilet. Unfortunately, for most of the time, it was too late. It happened a few times in the span of half an hour. If only, I had ready incontinence supplies that time. I had to rush her to the hospital for emergency when the situation worsened. T

"INDIANAPOLIS -- Hillary Clinton’s pick to win the Kentucky Derby this year came in second, but was later euthanized on the track. Pete Kerzel / Special to MLB.com:While Jorge Posada wasn't in the Yankees' lineup at his customary position behind the plate on Sunday, manager Joe Girardi said he expects Posada to resume catching at some point this week, perhaps as early as the club's three-game series that begins at U.S. Cellular Park in Chicago on Tuesday night. "I'd be surprised if he doesn't catch next week," Girardi said of Posada, who has been hampered by a right shoulder strain that inhibits his ability to throw. Posada has spent time in the past week building up his arm strength by long-tossing, but he only lobbed on Friday and didn't throw on Saturday, playing first base instead. With pregame work at Camden Yards on Sunday limited by rain, Girardi said that Posada would test his arm next on Tuesday. "He won't
This person feels awful. I have spent three hours trying to figure out something else to say other than "this person feels awful", but that's it. I worked on variations that went like "this person feels really awful" and "this person feels awfully terrible". I even attempted replacing "this person" with "I" to personalize it, but I was not up to the task. Then, my mind wandered, and I remembered that time when I was home sick with the flu and had mounted a little video camera on my bed's headboard. The previous sentence does not lead anywhere dirty, unless cat butts get you worked up.I had the video camera on my headboard trained on the cats while they were licking their butts, and I was broadcasting it on some video broadcasting thingy on the internet, and the people who ran the video br

Well, the Rutgers women's basketball team lost to UConn in the NCAA Women's Tournament last night, 66-56. I can't say I am not pleased with this outcome, especially since I am hardly a fan of C. Vivian Stringer, the coach of Rutgers. What I do hope is that unlike last year, that Don Imus forgot to watch last night's game ... because we all know what happened last year when he watched ...

I've peered bleary-eyed at the comments on my last post and my, what a wonderful group you are! I feel the need to explain why you might now see me much in the next few days though. Here I've posted about how much I love my cyber-friendships, so disappearing without an explanation would be extra rude somehow. Our household has been struck with a nasty tummy bug and I spent the entirety of last night into the wee hours of morning throwing up. I still feel pretty weak and shaky, but really hope the worst has passed. I must say, I sure am pathetic when I'm sick! For one brief panicked moment I considered contriving a way of rendering myself unconscious so I wouldn't have to endure it anymore.Considering the girls were throwing up the night before no, I don't think I'm pregnant. But I sur

The National Review has a damning indictment of Huckabee's supposed foreign policy positions:
Huckabee did give a long speech on foreign policy at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in September. It combined a superficial rendering of conventional foreign-policy wisdom — which of course included many unfair criticisms of President Bush — with Huckabee's inimitable folksy...

I got tagged by Kyle, my meme loving buddy, over at Rather Be Shopping with a new meme. The revenge tag is the best kind of tag, I’m told. :-)
Anyways, I’m glad he tagged me because I like this meme. I think there is enough in my life that needs fixing to warrant a challenging courseload.
Devise a list of 5-10 courses you would take to fix your life. It’s more fun to be in classes with friends, so include one class from the person who tagged you that you’d also like to take. Tag five.
I was often an over-achiever in school so I’ll go for the gusto and choose 10 classes that I’d like to take to fix my life:
1. Winning Contests 101 - This is the class I’d take with Kyle. I, too, would love to learn how to win these contests. I never seem to have luck on my side in contests, yet others win multiple prizes or even lotteries. Crazy.
2. Advanced Photoshop (for dummies) - This would be a great class for me. I have a ton of good photos
Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks and George Clooney are the celebrities most likely to give nice pop in the polls to any political candidate they endorse. But look out for Rosie O’Donnell, Tom Cruise, Madonna and Donald Trump–they’re the celebrities most likely to torpedo any presidential wannabee.
Celebrities, who love to endorse presidential candidates, are the new feature this month for the Forbes.com political poll known as the Forbes ‘08 Tracker. With our partner, California-based E-Poll Market Research, the poll is taking a look at which celebs would help their candidates and who would hurt them.
The selection of 2,213 men and women over the age of 18 were read a list of celebrities and asked how they would respond–positively or negatively–if the celeb were to endorse a political candidate.
The six who would have the most positive impact on the image of a candidate with whom they associated were Oprah, on top, followed by Tom Hanks, George Clooney, Jon

Intel and others plan to release a new version of the ubiquitous Universal Serial Bus technology in the first half of 2008, a revamp the chipmaker said will make data transfer rates more than 10 times as fast by adding fiber-optic links alongside the traditional copper wires.Intel is working fellow USB 3.0 Promoters Group members Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Texas Instruments, NEC and NXP Semiconductors to release the USB 3.0 specification in the first half of 2008, said Pat Gelsinger, general manager of Intel’s Digital Enterprise Group, in a speech here at the Intel Developer Forum.
In an interview after the speech, Gelsinger said there’s typically a one- to two-year lag between the release of the specification and the availability of the technology, so USB 3.0 products should likely arrive in 2009 or 2010. A prototype shown at the speech is working now, and USB 3.0 will have optical and copper connections “from day one,” he added.
The current USB 2.0 version h

The open source community is just that in many respects, a community. There are many people interacting on a regular basis swapping work and ideas for a common purpose. To resemble a true community however they need to borrow from the real world, there is a need for an open source Job Agency.
Job advertising is a major online business, millions of people change their professions and seek out new horizons all with the help of recruiters. These recruiters are increasing their online presence, enabling people in Brisbane Australia to browse jobs in New York and vice versa, they also give quick responses for immediate needs and to give an easy environment for those keen for new work to find something that is uniquely suited for them. This flexibility seems to help matching the right individual to the right employer. Matching skills with opportunity is very important when there is real money involved in transactions, as the wrong mistake can prove to be very co
This morning my husband and I cleaned out the storage room downstairs in anticipation of a garage sale we're holding next Saturday. Our last move included downsizing into this house and there simply was no room
The U-20 Soccer World Cup is taking place as we speak in Canada. The US team has looked very impressive thus far, and after a Round 16 win today over Uruguay, they now advance to the quarterfinals vs. Austria on July 14. After winning their group with wins over Poland and top dog Brazil, and a saddening tie vs. Poland, the US team is making a serious World Cup title run. I wouldn't consider myself a huge soccer fan, but when it comes to USA Soccer and World Cups, I love watching soccer. After the big time national team won the Gold Cup and the U-20 team looking pretty impressive at the U-20 World Cup, I am very excited about the future of US Soccer. With young stars in Freddy Adu, Josmer Altidore, and Michael Bradley, US Soccer has a bright future. Granted Adu has struggled in the Pros, I do really feel this is Adu's coming out party. From here on out, especially when it comes to national competition, he's going to be a big star. The funny thing about it is that Adu may not even be t

It’s been hell living without my internet connection at home for the past few days. It went down on Saturday morning, in the middle of a job, and of course, there was no support available.
When I did get through they promised to send out a technician again. He arrived this morning and unlike the previous technician who visited, this guy actually did his job and managed to be friendly and professional while doing it.
I was most impressed.
Anyway, unlike the previous guy who juts fiddled with something out on the street and made it work temporarily, today’s technician went a lot further.
Not only did he fiddle with the box out on the street but he also replaced the wiring and box coming in to my house. He also put new connectors on all the cables leading to the modem.
Hopefully I wont have any more extended drops of connectivity.
I now have a daunting amount of email, comments, comment spam, RSS feeds and other things to sort through and catch up with today.
I’ll
Thankfully the all the various websites have finally finished with the Henry transfer saga and are now turning to more meaningful comments about our club! Henry is now a Barcelona player and the only current connection he has with Arsenal is the box that he has retained at the Emirates stadium.
There were so many comments about Barcelona transfers last week on the Arsenal Newsnow site - as if we could care a less about that bloody awful club - no disrespect to Henry but I hope they win nothing again next season! Wenger apparently is due to return from holiday (did he not have another holiday before the Henry saga news broke?) next week - so I hope we get some encouraging statements on the official web site from him and the board about what is happening at the club! I think not somehow!
I know a club cannot always tell its fans about everything that is going on behind the scenes particularly with transfer negotiations otherwi

Well, I've been hitting the forums and online blogging sites. I probably should be out photographing things, but what with my daughter all with the sniffles, I'm basically working, spending time with the family, or working on this website. I HAVE been photographing things, however, though only with my 2MP celphone camera. What have I been photographing? Money. :) Working on a Money theme for another site. Go figure.

Prisoners, at least in the US, seems to have a tendency of killing each other off for different reasons. The power of imagination when it comes to designing improvised weapons seems to have no limits, which has led prison authorities and designers to try to create everyday objects and tools that can not be transformed into weapons. One example is the no-shank toothbrush we have mentioned earlier, and here is another; the bending pen. The pen is supposed to be impossible to make into a weapon, and it is USD 10:- on the Spycatcher webshop.
Kevin Davies has been speaking before Saturday’s clash at The Emirates, a must-not-lose match for Arsenal and must-win match for the visitors. Quoted in the ever-so-reliable Sun, the Bolton striker’s words are the for all to see under the headline, They’re there to be had. Leaving aside the journalistic inability to pull together a grammatically correct byeline, Davies said,
I think they are troubled, especially after losing at home to West Ham…That was a brilliant result for us. We felt they would have lost at Newcastle, too, so that was probably a good point for them
Well, it was a good point in that it stopped the rot, for one game at least. More importantly though is the change in perception that has occurred since earlier in the season and more recently the FA Cup tie at The Emirates. No longer are teams happy to come down and sit back, ready to take a point if they can. Now Bolton believe they can win it. Since Arsenal lost their ‘bottle’ at T
It seems that, amid all the stress we've been going through lately (which is another post entirely, and will be coming, I promise), there is still good to be found. Not only am I now in the ranks of paid bloggers, but I also just found out that this fall I will be starting nursing school. This has been in the works for over a year, and some of you may remember when I first started out on this journey. I've slowly been taking classes here and there, working on the prerequisites needed to even apply for the program. I finished those prerequisites this past fall, just in time to meet the deadline for applications to the online nursing program. My local college offers an online program for those who already have a bachelor's degree in something else, and are seeking a career change. All of the lecture is done online, and then labs and clinicals are scheduled for one day a week. The beauty of this is that it means I can still go to school without having to juggle crazy babysitting schedule

Wild! The post office is wrapping mail collection boxes in some 200 cities nationwide in a special covering to look like R2-D2. It's part of a promotion for a new stamp to be announced March 28, said Anita T. Bizzotto, the post office's chief marketing officer. "It's a little teaser for the upcoming announcement and we decided to have a little fun with it," she said. About 400 mailboxes will be covered to look like the stout droid. "When you look at a mailbox, the resemblance to R2-D2 is too good to pass up," Bizzotto said. Here's the full article.
It looks like my discovery that Romano Prodi's time as Italy's prime minister was done was a little premature. He's managed to win a confidence vote for now, but with the way he lucked out recently, chances are that he still may not be able to survive much longer.Former prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, the media tycoon who narrowly lost last year's election, has forecast Prodi will not last long in power. A poll this week showed 40 per cent of Italians agreed, predicting his government would last just a few more months.I think that's right, and there'll be quite a few issues that his coalition won't agree with him upon. So, it's possible that pretty soon, he'll be out of office altogether.

Current Mood: December 2nd was the one year anniversary of my last suicide attempt. The scars on my wrist have faded a lot - thanks to mederma. They aren’t pink anymore so they are hard to notice unless you are looking for them. I am very proud that I haven’t made anymore attempts to take my own life.
I’m also proud that I have not bloodlet or cut since August 19th - I’m two weeks shy of the four month mark. I haven’t even had the urge to do it. I think it has a lot to do with McKayla. I love that baby so much and I want to be around to watch her grow up and I want to stop hurting myself. I know now that when I hurt myself I also hurt those who love me. And people actually do love me.
It has taken a very long time for it to sink in that I am worthy of love and that I even deserve it. Old scars are healing - emotional as well as physical. I am content with my life right now.
My meds are working well and I haven’t had any major depressive episodes in months. I’m very than

Fergie and Josh went with the doggy bag option (and can't even decide on who will carry it...most boring detail ever) while leaving lunch on Monday afternoon. The two have been very into the tandem fitness of late, so it's no surprise to see them out and about in work-out gear. Though, is it just me, or does Fergie seem smaller than ever. I was praying last night and even earlier morning for my Yu-Jose POS60 Pre-finals (40% in my class standing). The test was last Tuesday and our teacher promised to checked it immediately so that she could give our class standing today. Our pre-finals comprised of a comprehensive list of political thinkers ranging from the freaking Sophists to J.S. Mill. Of course, if you guys have heard of Ebenstein's Political Thinkers book, you will know that it's more than an inch thick of readings! Seryoso! To think that test was scheduled the day after the big championship game with UST. So I started late and literally only had about an hour and a half of sleep. (Prior to that I had days of enduring no sleep at all. Nueva trip. Will post when I get the pictures ready.) What has my life gotten into? Sigh. I never thought I'd get a high grade since I had a hard time with the test, and was dreading the results.
So, imagine how overwhelming it was to get
