It's family time. It's a time for joy, smiles, football, presents, more turkey, football, carols, christmas trees, football, hugs, love, and… did I say football?Â
For those rabid NFL fans for whom there's no such thing as holidays, tonight there will be some NFL football before the family reunion. Week 16 is going to finish its non-stop action games with a matchup between the Denver Broncos and San Diego Chargers.
The Chargers already clinched Division and keep a record of 9-5 so far. The game doesn't seem so exciting, but the Broncos are just below them on the NFL Standings with very close numbers: 8-6. It will be hard to break the 4-game winning streak San Diego has, but they still have some chances to make it happen. Who knows? Maybe Santa will bring a victory to the desperate Denver fans. This way they can join other NFL betting fans that will have a lot to celebrate these days: Dallas (Romo! You're back!), Philadelphia, Washington and Jacksonville, to mention som

Willie Gallas is a leader, and without him we would not have got some of the important results we have this season. I sincerely hope that Arsene Wenger finds him an able partner when Toure goes to the African Cup of Nations.

I will see if I can find some great PS3 news before Christmas since this is obviously going to disappoint a fair many of you.
It is being reported this morning that Haze, the highly anticipated PS3 shooter, has been delayed… again… Originally scheduled for November 2007 and then delayed until January 2008…
Now, it looks like it has delayed further by 3 months. Several online retailers have confirmed this, such as Amazon.com and BestBuy.com, indicating a released towards the later half of March.
Which isn’t that bad apart from it is now going to be released right after the highly anticipated Killzone 2 and at the same time as Grand Theft Auto… ouch…
If this is true it may end up meaning that Haze never makes the impact that was expected of it.

My cousin Tiffany sends the following prayer request:
I also have a special request. Â Please take a moment everyday… to pray for those who are hurting this Christmas and New Years. Â While Christmas and New Years is enjoyed by so many, it’s also heartbreaking and hard for others. Â Some have lost loved ones, may suffer depression and loneliness, or may even be sick or hurting elsewhere. Â The best gift you can give to others is intercessory prayer and sharing God’s love. Â On behalf of my family and countless others, thank you for all your prayers and love. Â You all have done so much this past year for others and I pray that God will bless you immensely for your kindness. Â It’s my prayer that each of you will have a most blessed Christmas and New Years too. Â May God’s hand be upon you and yours. Â
Love to you all,

Well the Strictly Come Dancing final 2007 is well underway and we are now halfway through the evening. What do you think so far?
I think both Matt and Alesha have really performed well this evening, but I think Matt has slightly out-performed Alesha (and that’s not just because he’s my favourite!).
So far Matt has performed an American Smooth, Salsa and wicked Quickstep with some kick-ass fancy tap moves at the beginning of the routine.
Alesha has performed a Waltz, Cha Cha Cha and a jive.
Thankfully Matt hasn’t forgotten any steps and Alesha is living up to all our expectations.
Scores on the doors so far:
Alesha Dixon 39 + 38 + 35 = 112
Matt Di Angelo 36 + 39 + 35 = 110
Breakdown:
Matt
American Smooth: 9 9 9 9 = 36
Salsa: 9 10 10 10 = 39
Quickstep: 9 8 9 9 = 35
Alesha
Waltz: 10 10 9 10 = 39
Cha cha cha: 9 9 10 10 = 38
Jive: 9 8 9 9 = 35
Here are the numbers:
Matt 0901 121 3001
Alesha 0901 121 3011

Why is it that the breastfeeding is always compared to Formula in a way that makes is sound like Formula is the norm and that breastfeeding just better… It makes is sound like yeah sure breastfeeding is great but Formula is good enough… and of course no one is perfect so really why breastfeed?
The problem is… Breastfeeding is the norm… Formula can be dangerous and the choice between breastfeeding and Formula is not a simple choice to make, children die because they are not breastfed, really it should not be a choice at all… we need to make the language reflect that.
Here is a Hathor comic that is a great example…

Oh my goodness look at that parking lot! I am not going anywhere near that craziness; That would be insane! The lines must be out the door and down the street! I can’t do it! I will just have to explain to my son after Christmas that every store in the universe was out of the Star Wars action figure, Kit Fitso… You know you gotta go in there. Yes; I know, into the belly of the beast.
This is a conversation I had with myself in a mall parking lot a few years ago as I was stressing out over finding that PERFECT gift for my son who was then 7. At that point I am pretty sure I had forgotten the reason for the season, the birth of a savior.
This summer my wife’s Aunt Margie passed away and at the luncheon after her funeral I remembered that Aunt Margie had a wonderful tradition of reminding the children (and adults) about why we celebrate Christmas. Every Christmas day we gather at my wife’s mothers house for dinner and Aunt Margie would always bring a birthday cak

So here I am with my family yesterday (Sunday afternoon) going window shopping at the Willowbrook Mall in Northern New Jersey.
We pass by Zales and of course I cannot resist taking a gander and playing the part of a curious shopper.
First I stood for about 5 minutes at a showcase (literally) without
even being noticed! So I decide to use my time constructively by
listening in on the sales pitch going on a few feet away from
me….interesting to say the least….
Then, I notice in the watch case that Zales is apparently an Authorized retailer for ESQ watches! In fact, my recently coveted ESQ watch is right there on display!
Of course I decided to take a look and to try and get a price.
A heavyset saleswoman comes over to me and says “someone will be with you shortly”.
So I stand there for approx. the next 10 minutes (I kid you not)
watching two salespeople who clearly were not “busy” but for some
reason had no time for me.
After about 10 minutes of stan

More interesting statistics from the world of online search, this time demonstrating clear online search trends as we approach the holiday season. A highlight of many a New Zealand summer is the Kiwi camping holiday - packing the car and heading to the beach, campsite or holiday park with kids, chilly bins and kayaks in tow.
And New Zealand search statistics are showing the popularity of this summer pastime. Reports from Hitwise show that searches relating to the great outdoors have increased significantly in recent weeks. Most of these high ranking search terms are generic (like ‘camping grounds’), but other popular search terms are geographically specific (for instance ‘paihia camping ground’).
Top ten searches relating to camping holidays in New Zealand, for the week ending 8 December, 2007 were:
kiwi camping

camping equipment
camping gear
camping nz

**Lolcats ‘n’ Funny Pictures–I Can Has Cheezeburger.com
Today has been one of those days where all you want to do is crawl back in bed and restart the whole morning all over again. Push the rewind button, and make it right. One of those mornings where you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders, and the stress of not keeping all your emotions in check. Ever have those days?
To make the morning worse, I decided to cut Landon’s hair. Deciding to give him a haircut wasn’t a bad thing really, I do it all the time. But I really should have waited to do it later this week, when I was a bit more focused I suppose. Well, to make a long story short, Landon moved, and I didn’t have the guard (clipper attachment) on the clippers and I took off a huge chunk of hair from the side of his head! We’re talking, bald spot, I can see scalp, chunk of hair!! I nearly threw up on Landon and my purple smock. 5 days before Christmas and I scalp the child. Just great, those will make for some awesome Christmas pictures next week! Ugh.
…Those kids and their comments…Yes, I’m shaking my head right now. I never know just what they will say next!
–Sarah has a bad cold today. Scott and I wanted to get some Vitamin C in her, so we gave her some orange slices to eat this morning. Well, you would think we asked Sarah to do the impossible! She cried and cried, and then cried some more. We kept telling her that if she would just go ahead and “get some Vitamin C in her body”, she might start to feel better. So, after finally eating one tiny piece of orange, Sarah exclaims:
“Mommy, Mommy, I feel better already! I don’t even have to eat any more!“
“Nice try.” I simply reply. “Ms. Dramatic” starts wailing and bawling again, and proclaims:
“This is the worst day of my life!”
**Note: You think my little girl may still have a few things to learn, or what?! Sarah’s still not convinced, but we’ll keep working on it!

I’ve gone around town (and now on YouTube) for saying “the most popular blogs are by bloggers who blog about blogging.”

Take a large bowl, check the Cuervo again, to be sure it is of the highest quality, pour one level cup and drink. Turn on the electric mixer.
Add one teaspoon of sugar. Beat again. At this point it’s best to make sure the Cuervo is still okay, try another cup just in case. It’s Christmas after all.

First and foremost - what a fantastic result. Many teams will go to Ewood Park and struggle. Many will be lucky to go there and get a victory. Even our first team only got a draw there this season. Ok, the victory came after extra time but considering our second string have knocked out another full strength Premier League side is magnificent. Last year it was Tottenham, this year it was Newcastle and now Blackburn. We rode our luck, but you must expect this with such an inexperienced side, but we also played some sublime football.
Each goal was a moment of beauty in itself. The first came after some neat build up play and Diaby put away Bendtner's inviting cross. Eduardo then finished off moves ending with two perfect through balls. I know Samba missed the ball through from Denilson, but the weight and direction was still perfectly into the striker's path. We did look shaky at the back afte

As many of you know, I am a plein air painter, so I only spend the coldest part of the year in here, and days with inclement weather. Still, I do many of my largest, smallest, and most important works here in the studio. It’s also a place where friends and buyers can come visit. So, come on in!
The photo above shows my main work area with my little furry mascot, Rondo. That’s Rondo’s favorite chair, though he is willing to share with visitors.

I’m not dead. I’ve been busy trying to wrap things up before the Christmas break and our holiday! Oh boy, I can not wait.In eight days we’re getting on a plane for 24 hours and won’t have to think about work for a month!

It’s the calm after the storm and a great day to see just how much snow has fallen…
I went out and played with the boys all morning… we went for a walk and they climbed and slid in the front yard and jumped from the hill on our front lawn..
I also moved the car so that the snow removal truck can come and do the rest of our driveway so that we could get the garbage bins out later…

I'm at the library again because we still do not have any power at home. Eight long days without electricity - I've been 'camping out' in my own home. I'm starting to feel like Laura Ingalls, except I have hot running water. Supposedly, our power will be back on no later than 11pm tomorrow… 2500 electrical workers have been brought in from several other states. Originally, almost 300,000 Tulsans were without power and an additional 300,000 throughout the rest of Oklahoma. I know they are working as hard and fast as they can, but damn my patience is wearing very thin.
I'll update more as soon as I can, please, bear with me.
Trust comes in many flavours, and in a developed market economy trust should in the best of worlds be an unambiguous concept. It isn’t. The most obvious difference between ‘trust’ and ‘trust’ in a developed market economy is the one you find in the number of connections or degrees between you as a consumer and the product/provider.
1st degree trust can be defined as direct contact with the provider. You know the provider, and you trust them. This makes you buy their product.
2nd degree trust is contact via referral. You know the referrer and you trust him/her, hence you trust the provider. This makes you buy their product. Not as willingly as a 1st degree, but a buy is a buy.
But a regulated market economy put forth more complex trust scenarios since you may also get additional sets of 1st degrees, which is what we at nielsenandcompany.com calls the marketer’s wet dream. The most common example is when the provider needs to follow a set of rules and

As I was updating my Fantasy Football Start’em Sit’em and Sleepers post, it dawned on me that some of you might not realize that I do that.
Each week after the games I go back and review my picks. I post the final stats, a few thoughts concerning the outcome of the players performance and, on occasion, eat a heaping serving of humble pie for all to see.
Go back when you get a chance because it is a great way for you to monitor my performance and keep me accountable.
So… it snowed today…
I am so happy that I did my groceries yesterday because litterally we are pretty much snowed in and the roads are said to be very dangerous today…
So… We got about 2 1/2 feet…
it is a bit crazy… Simon is out shovelling as I write… and of course he had left the shovel next to the shed… and the other is buried in the front yard…
I tried to get some pics of how high the snow is but it is a bit hard because of the reflection and we can’t open the back door…
and here is the front yard…
just to compare… this is what it looks like with less snow…
and here is a pic of Xavier coming in from playing… it was about -25 with the wind…

No, it’s not Happy Holidays or Seasons Greetings. It’s Merry Christmas. And, if you are offended, deal with it. There are a lot of things I see in the media and such that I don't agree with but you don't see me getting all butt hurt about it. If you are truly offended when someone says, "Merry Christmas", you have some serous psychological problems and are in dire need of therapy. I wonder if you get just as offended when someone cuts you off on the freeway and flips you the middle finger. Probably not.
As for retailers who refuse to say "Merry Christmas", on their marketing collateral, you'd think they would have invested in market research and come across this study in 2002 by the Pew Research Council that found that roughly 80 percent of Americans consider themselves Christians. A similar study was cited in Wikipedia.

During this time of year we have many vendors that come in with their lines of jewelry they would love us to buy from. We have to take our time to sift through the garbage that some of these vendors are calling jewelry, this is a daily thing at this time of year. Some come into the store they open up their little bags and start showing diamond earrings that I have been seeing for the past 3 to 4 years the same old same old. I even had one vendor coming in with designs I had in my store when I first opened.
Some of these vendors have been with us for years, and know very well what we have in our store what we demand from them for our clients, and still they want to bring this tired old junk. One vendor last week gave me a look that could kill I guess he did not like what I said he was showing some tired old diamond earrings explaining to us that they are a good price. My reply was it does not matter if they are only ten bucks if they do n
