Science believes that women may have more painful headaches than men, as well. Naturally, there are a number of factors that come into play when considering an individual's chances of developing headaches, and the frequency of such problems. Age, genetics, and family history can all play a role, but for women, there are a couple of other factors to be considered. Hormone levels and birth control pills (which tamper with current levels or introduce synthetic hormones to the body) are both possible factors in the headache equation. As stated, there are several factors that can play a role in someone's chances of getting headaches. For example, age appears to be a

The mechanism must be reasonable and what is reasonable depends on "the employment circumstances," ... and therefore, among other things, on the capabilities of the class of employees in question. How Sinus Headaches Occur and How to Resolve Them
The symptoms are quite clear: it all starts with a constant throbbing pain in the side of the face and sometimes the eye; sometimes nasal congestion is also one of the symptoms of the condition and fever too. These symptoms can all lead to sinus headaches that are quite severe in nature. Most sinus headaches tend to occur when a person has a bad cold, has allergies of suffers from the flu. A sinus headache may also be something else, such as the symptom of a much more severe sinus disease or a sign that something may be blocking the sinus ducts and which may lead to the reoccurrence of sinus infections. It must always be diagnosed and treated by a doctor or physician.A real sinus headache is actually caused by a rather serious infection that often leads to the blockage of all the sinus ducts. This tends to prevent normal drainage which also causes a negative pressure right within the sinuses. What results is that a person tends to feel the symptoms such as a dull ache and fullness exper

Okay, here’s the deal. Getting POV-Ray and Moray to work properly on Vista is a nightmare. Until now, things worked more or less, but not as good as on XP. Creating scenes and rendering them from Moray worked, but I had to close POV-Ray every time before rendering or everything would freeze. Annoying, but not too much trouble. Rendering animations in POV-Ray didn’t work, however. Normally, you set a clock variable, wich you use to create your animation, and then all frames are rendered automatically. Guess what? Doesn’t work! The program crashes when I try it. Only solution is rendering everything frame by frame. So today I wanted to continue working on my graphics, Moray simply doesn’t work anymore at all! The only thing that still works is creating scenes directly in POV-Ray, wich is an incredibly time consuming process. Unless I can find a way to solve this problem, I’m going back to vector graphics after my current project. With some effort, these can

Butterbur Reduces Migraine Headaches In Children And Adolescents In Clinical Trial
By: Darrell MillerA new clinical trial published in the journal Headache stated that a proprietary extract of butterbur root, an herbal remedy from Europe, has been able to successfully lower the occurrence of migraines in children and adolescents. Three to seven percent of all children experience migraines. Since most migraine therapies are not effective when given to children, it is a necessity for further research on new promising therapies that can help to prevent migraines in children. Although there have been numerous studies testing therapies for adults with migraines, there have only been a few controlled trials investigating the prophylactic treatment of migraines in children and adolescents.Butterbur, which is a native European plant, has most successfully been used for its ability to relieve pain and spasms in conditions such as migraines, asthma, urinary tract spasms, and lower back pain. This trial, which took place in Germany, was an open-label study, as getting approval

      Snoring to headaches.
A new study finds a link between snoring and chronic daily headache. The study, published in the April 22 issue of Neurology, the scientific journal of the American Academy of Neurology, examined the snoring habits of people with chronic daily headache and people with occasional headaches.   Chronic daily headache was defined as people with at least 15 headaches per month. Occasional headache was defined as two to 104 headaches per year.People with chronic daily headache were more than twice as likely to also be chronic snorers than the people with occasional headaches. The result was the same even when adjusting for factors that can affect breathing in sleep, such as body mass index and alcohol intake. “If we can show that the snoring is causing the headaches, then we may be able to stop or lessen people’s headaches by treating their snoring,” said study author Ann Scher, PhD, of the National Institute on Aging in Bethesda, Md. “This would be a great reli

      MMA Headaches
This is going to be a lot more research than I thought. Just a google search or yahoo search for "Money Merge" or "Money Merge Account" brings up a massive number of sources. The confusion comes when you start reading these sources:They are either promoter sites or bashing sites. It doesn't seem that there are any sources which talk about both sides in a clear manner without prejudice. The closest I came was The Jubilee Project (for the MMA) and The Simple Dollar (not sure which, but seems against). There were also a couple sites in which so-called 'experts' talked about it, but it's hard to find credibility on the internet---when liars are easy to find in abundance. So more time is what I'll need, and see if I can find some sources where I can actually talk to people and ask questions.Any help would be appreciated---especially if there are any clients out there who use this program and would be willing to talk?

      Bottlenecks and Headaches
A new article on Computer World suggests that IT is a "key barrier to corporate Web 2.0 adoption", according to speakers at the Office 2.0 conference in San Francisco. An example of how the IT team were slow to facilitate Web.20 projects: [The] head of digital media at the National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA)  in London, noted that she first had to bypass IT to get Web 2.0 technologies to the group's end users. Once she started the effort, she said, "IT started to realize it was happening without them anyway. They weren't interested until they started to get multiple requests from around the business. Eventually, they came on board." The Pendulum Swings Information Technology trends swing along a pendulum from complete decentralization to centralization. With Web 2.0 the pendulum is currently swinging away from central IT control. In general I think this is a good trend,  since the pool of "developers" will deepen if it starts to i

Bedtime Rituals for Children Eliminate Bedtime Headaches for Parents
“I can’t take it anymore!” a young mother’s desperate e-mail pleaded, “it takes anywhere from two to four hours to get my kids to bed at night and I am so tired. Sometimes I sit in their room and cry as I wait for them to fall asleep. What should I do?” Sleep problems are a tremendous issue to parents. Nobody informs couples when they are expecting their first baby that “sleeping like a baby” means taking two hours to fall asleep and then waking up every hour and a half for the first year or two and not actually sleeping through the night until age five. Many parents, even after having read all of the parenting books, are plagued with countless nights of difficult bedtimes, pop-ups (kids leaving their beds after lights out), and musical beds. Is there a way to get kids to bed without the evening drama? How do parents end the day on a positive note with big yawns and kids happy to put their heads down? The Bedtime Ritual A set bedtime ritual is an effective method to ge

      Getting To Know Your Headaches
One of the most common complaints of people seeking medical treatment is headaches. A headache is characterized by pain in the head that is located above the eyes (frontal), ears (temporal), or behind the head (occipital), or in the back of the upper neck (cervicogenic). Headaches are generally directly related to both physical and mental stress. There are two classifications of headaches: primary headaches and secondary headaches.A primary headache is one in which there no underlying cause that can be identified. Primary headaches can include migraine, migraine with aura, tension-type headache, and cluster headache, and account for about 90% of all headaches. Tension-type headaches are the most common of these. Generally, a primary headache isn't life threatening or permanently disabling, but can be painful and highly prevalent. Primary headaches are idiopathic in nature, meaning the cause is not known. The next classification, secondary headaches are far less common and than primary

      causes of headaches
There are many causes of headaches. Headaches can be acute, chronic or even migraines. Acute headaches come and go and can be caused by diseases or infections of the eyes, ears, nose, throat, teeth or sinuses. A blow to the head can cause a headache! Exposure to cigarette smoke, allergens or chemical fumes are sometimes triggers too. Certain drugs or use of alcohol, and dehydration may also be at fault. Chronic headaches may accompany diseases, nerve dysfunctions, worry, brain tumors, and other physical, emotional, or psychosomatic disorders. Fevers and changes in metabolism can be possible causes too. Nerve conditions such as anger, fear, worry, excitement, disappointment, nervous tension, stress can cause headaches as bad or worse than those that have physical causes. Migraines are the most extreme headaches and may begin in childhood or any time during adulthood. They may start with mood changes, fatigue, depression, thirst, hunger, nervousness or even lack of sleep. Twice as many w

      Too Many Headaches
The Boy almost made me cry last night. He didn’t mean to, of course, but it was just too precious.  When I walked in, I was exhausted.  And while Wednesday nights are wonderful for Bryan (and rightfully so), I’m usually hitting the mid-week exhaustion AND I rarely get a nap those days.  As usual, the 7 year-old energy machine had no clue.  He was INSANE.  Bubbling over to be in a new house. (Summer is proving to be very boring in BioMom’s house.  More on that later.) The Boy and Bryan were playing some GameCube in his room (it’s just too damn hot to do much outside), so I plopped down on the couch.  And as I could’ve predicted, soon had a 7 year-old in my ear.  He tossed some box to me, with his face just exuding excitement.  “We can grow snot!” he said. So he had my attention. He had brought over a box of “Nasty Science”, the kind of kit that all boys love because you can, indeed, grow snot and create fart gas an

Tucson I-10 Construction - 3 Years of Headaches
I’ve already written an entry about the I-10 construction that is just now gaining momentum here in town and here is why I’m writing about it again: After speaking with several prospects/clients/friends I’ve come to the conclusion that most people either didn’t know about the construction, didn’t know the full extent of the expansion, or were misinformed about critical details. And because I think this construction will impact most Tucsonans, I’m going to explain the What, When, Where, and Why… and I suppose the How, just to round it out. What A 2 1/2-year project that will expand I-10 from the current three lane to four lanes in each direction between the 29th Street and Prince Road exits. There will also be extra lanes for on/off ramps. Seven new bridges and underpasses will be constructed at the following streets: Grant Road, Speedway Boulevard, St. Mary’s Road, Congress Street, Granada Avenue/Clark Street, 18th Street and 22nd Stre

Giant Headaches to Ensue at Meadowlands
As if parking/driving isn't enough of a bitch when attending sporting events, this season Giants Stadium will only allow season-ticket holders who have prepaid for parking permits to roll their wheels onto the stadium lot. All others, you need to park two miles away...then get your ass shuttled to the game. The Jets will also have a similar plan. The new policy comes into effect because the newstadium's construction site will eat up approximately 5,000 parking spots. The problem won't ease until the new stadium opens and the current stadium is razed. All that being said, maybe the most aggravating aspect will be the hit hardcore tailgaters will take.Alex Cestaro, a Giants season-ticket holder for 10years, said the tailgating scene will suffer the most. "I know a lot of people who tailgate," Cestaro said. "Some of these guys used to take up four, five parking spaces with the booze set-up and the satellite TV and lounge chairs. Would You Like Vista Without The Headaches? Cancel Or Allow?
If you are anything like me then you wait a minimum… a MINIMUM… of six months before installing a Microsoft operating system on any computer that you personally own and operate. I personally shoot for one year. The problem is I really like the looks of Windows Vista much more than the oh so goofy default Windows XP look and feel. If that also sounds like you then read on because I have good news. A while back I ran across an online tutorial that detailed how to skin your Windows XP desktop to look just like Vista. That sounded like my cup of tea so I gave it a whirl. I ran into a few hiccups during the process, so I decided that I would repackage the tutorial along with some of my observations and edits. The original tutorial is called Make XP look like Windows Vista / Longhorn for free! on tech-recipes.com. That site, by the way, has a lot of other pretty cool tutorials too. I may do a full blown site review in the future. Well, without further ado, here’s watcha g

      Sleeping Relieves Headaches
For people who suffer headaches ever so often, some may be due to lack of sleep. Many people abuse their body system and a lot has to do with the proper rest required for bodies to regenerate and function properly. Sleeping is perhaps one of the more common issues we have today. Lacking in sleep will lead towards migraines and headaches, making the day all the more despicable to people who want to carry out their chores and routines in the normal manner that they are inclined to be. There are people who just cannot seem to kick the habit. A lot has to do with stress and work-related matters. Some resort to medication such as aspirin or other known medical pills that can take away the pain. But these are only temporary and continuous reliance on them may immune body systems making them entirely useless. The fact of the matter is that headaches stem from something such as bodily abuse of proper respite. People need not look further at times. Checking out their next sleeping hour schedul
