Oil Prices: Rebels, gunfire in the Gulf and labor strikes
“The Forties Pipeline System, a major transportation network that pumps about 600,00 barrels per day (bpd) from more than 50 fields situated throughout the region, was forced to close due to a labor strike at a key Scottish refinery.” — Jason Simpkins by Jason Simpkins Baltimore – (TFN): An outpouring of political [...]

Santa Draws Heavy Gunfire in Rio de Janeiro
In Rio de Janeiro, not even Santa Claus is safe from the violence on the street. Drug traffickers in one of the city's slums reportedly fired at a helicopter that was carrying a (not to be confused with the) Santa to a kids' Christmas Party in the Nova Mare slum. Thankfully, no one was hurt, although two bullet holes were found in the chopper's fuselage. The traffickers apparently mistook the helicopter for a police copter, and you can't really blame them for the error. They're used to cops barging in on them commando style in helicopters. Perhaps, they should have decorated the chopper with holly and wreaths? The sound of rifle shots in place of bells proved too much for Mr. Claus - he later returned to the party by car.

Security sprays hall with gunfire at John Kerry Speech
University of South Carolina students attending a John Kerry speech ran for their lives as security guards opened fire on them. Nobody was hurt, but several students were trampled in the rush for the exits. Kerry aides, speaking on condition of anonymity, downplayed the incident: "Do you think we'd seriously murder a bunch of college kids? We just wanted to scare them a bit; they were being insolent." Eyewitnesses gave conflicting accounts of the shooting. Sophomore Jane Hutchins claims that Kerry became upset when students booed after Kerry endorsed the Hillary Clinton health plan, "It wasn't like we were totally against it. We just didn't like that it preserved the for-profit insurance industry's stranglehold on health care. We wanted a single-payer system. After we noticed Kerry was a little quiet, we all tried to apologize, but he just winked at us and started walking away. That's when the shooting started." Another attendee, Chad "Che" Wilkins contradicted Ms. Hutchins'

      Breaking News, Gaza Strip Gunfire
The previous post touched on the Hamas conflict in the Gaza Strip. Within the past hour news has broken that there has been a shooting at the Israel-Gaza gateway between Israeli soldiers and Hamas militants. So far only one person has died and it has not been confirmed which side the fallen was on.The gateway continues to grow with people from Gaza who are trying to flee to Israel due to the Hamas occupation and violence that is taking over their area. Israel has only let a few through. What concerns me at this point is that the number of people at the gateway continues to grow. More people means more chance for chaos and now that this news has broken it is clear that Hamas lied when they stated that they didn't have any of their men stationed at the crossing. If more gunfire breaks out, civilians may start to fall.

PLO and Hamas trade gunfire back and forth, to and fro
It should be clear that a civil war is indeed breaking out between the PLO and Hamas. For starters, a Hamas minister's convoy was attacked: GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Gunmen attacked the convoy of the Palestinian foreign minister and raided a training base for an elite security forces unit Sunday, stepping up factional violence over a decision by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to end nine months of Hamas leadership and call early elections. A 19-year-old woman and a Palestinian security officer were killed in the chaos, while at least 13 people were wounded in gun battles across Gaza City. In one symbolic attack, Abbas' empty residence came under fire. Militants also fired two mortar shells at Abbas' nearby offices. And then, mortar shells were fired at Mahmoud Abbas' office: GAZA (Reuters) - Gunmen fired two mortar bombs at Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's office in Gaza on Sunday, wounding at least five members of his personal guard as tensions with the ruling Hamas moveme
