      Cafe Gratitude
Cafe Gratitude is located at 1730 Shattuck Avenue (near Virginia) in Berkeley. There are two other locations in San Francisco and the newest restaurant is in San Rafael. The phone number for all four restaurants is 415-824-4652, including the Berkeley location. This is a great vegetarian/vegan restaurant. It's also a raw food restaurant. If you're not familiar with raw food, don't let this scare you off. You probably wouldn't know the food is "raw" if someone hadn't told you. Everything is really delicious (my favorite is the lasagna). Even my meat-eating friends like this place. It's a little pricey for a lunch location, but if you take into consideration all the work that goes into making something raw and so tasty, then you realize it's not so expensive. And you know that what you're eati

Psalm 69:30: I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify Him with thanksgiving. Everyone knows how to be grateful yet not everyone made gratitude to be part of their living even though they are aware about the power of gratitude. Those who have made gratitude to be part of their nature, will always be in the state of experiencing joy. Gratitude can lead to happiness, because happiness is a state of being. You can only feel happy if you choose to be happy. Happiness is not about wanting the things that you want. Happiness is about wanting the things that you have. You can do that easily if you start being grateful for things that you have possessed in your life. If you ever feel not good, remind yourself that you are part of the Universe and be grateful for every circu

      Grains of Gratitude (Belated Edition)
My husband made it home!! I am so grateful. Life seems back to our version of normal. It seems we’ve been busy, but I’ve not much to show (or tell) for it. Do you ever seem like you run around faster and faster and then stop and say, “What did I really do?” Hrumph!! I feel like those Veggie Tale veggies singing, “Busy, busy, dreadfully busy!” I need to thank all of you who left me a comment last

      Gratitude
I am reminded of the importance of gratitude in life. So many of us walk around always nervous, scared, and angry. We put out anger and fear and wonder why it is that good things never seem to happen. While it may sound simplistic, we do reap what we sow. Wake up every morning and begin your day by thinking of (and even writing down) at least 5 things that you are grateful for. Even if they are as simple as the fact that you are breathing or that it's not raining.Done daily, this practice will quickly make you more aware of how much there is to be grateful for AND will start attracting more things to be grateful for into your life. That's the Law of Attraction in a nutshell, and it works!Tags: orld Gratitude Gathering, Law of Attraction, lynda lippin

He was gone a few days last week and will be gone for the largest part of this week. He works from home (telecommuting) about 75-85% of the time. So when he travels it really changes our lifestyle.

      Grains of Gratitude
Falling off the face of the earth happens sometimes. My thought was that when I returned to blogging, I would be ready to post everyday, but this pesky thing called life continues to “get in the way.” Just kidding—and certainly not complaining. But one thing I learned during my time off was that “Life” certainly does take a precedent over everything. And I was still very worn down from the

      Gratitude
Life is full of trials, disappointments, failures, and heartaches. It seems like daily living is incomplete without us facing adversaries and problems. Sometimes it feels like God has forgotten our existence.Think again. God never fails. He is everywhere caring, loving and nurturing us. As you look around you, the things that you should be grateful for is limitless.I thank God for everything that has happened to me: good or bad. The experiences that I had, the people who loved and betrayed me, financial abundance or its reciprocal, the ups and downs of my life molded me into who I am today.Who I am? I am wife, a mother of five and a grandmom of one. I am a daughter, a sister, a cousin, an aunt and an in-law. I am a friend, a confidante, a godmother. I am a Christian that has unwavering fai

      Develop a Culture of Gratitude
Congregations sometime can spiral down into a culture of complaint. A few individuals who like to complain about everything bring down the congregation with negativity. Most people usually do not know how to respond to this. Often, statements of negativity toward the pastor or the leadership go unchallenged. This ends up being destructive to the congregation and its ministry.About midway through my ministry, I heard an excellent piece of advice to respond to this spiral of negativity. Begin to develop within the leadership, and among people who do love their congregation and who are loved and respected members, a conscious and conscientious culture of gratitude. It is quite simple. When someone makes a generalized complaining statement in a committee or a group about the church or

Gratitude & giving - The Healthy Food Bank
I had to pass this along. How many times have we been hit for a food bank drive and just given the junk or processed foods that have accumulated in our pantries? I know I'm absolutely guilty of donating some of the worst foods instead of the best. Yet, the people who are in unfortunate circumstances and need food, could use healthier options. Enter a new idea from the Precision Nutrition folks... the Healthy Food Bank. A food bank looking to encourage people to donate healthy items to their local food banks and not just whatever excess junk lines your pantry. "The Healthy Food Bank is a non-profit organization that raises money to buy nutritious staples, like fruits, vegetables and whole grains, for people in need around North America. The money we raise is distributed to local food ban

Where is the Respect and Gratitude?
What has happened in our society where we no longer respect police officers or the men and women in our military? We don’t respect what they do for us, what they put on the line for their country. It tends to be a sad day, a sad world when we don’t respect. Why are we taking away more and more right for our military men and women and also our police officers? As a society, we are very quick to become Monday morning quarterbacks and ridiculing a solder for killing a citizen in a war. We are even quicker when a police officer uses his weapon. Well put yourself in their shoes. Walk up to a car in the middle of the night, with tinted windows, knowing guns are very easy to get, knowing a person doesn’t respect your position. How would you feel? Would your heart be beating? Would

      An Attitude of Gratitude
The other day (-within.html) I wrote about a long meditation session I was fortunate to have (do??) and I would like to continue writing about that experience now: After recognizing and acknowledging my HP (Hashem's) Presence, the next step for me, , was to realize that feeling this was not enough. If I could honestly see that He was in my life, then it stands to reason that I need to express my gratitude for this- and not only for this- but for every single gift which He grants me every single second that I am alive. What happened in actuality, was that I began to say to myself in my mind (i.e. to meditate)- Thank You, Hashem, for every breath that I take (and I thought of my friend who recently lost her mother due to lung problems),Thank You Hashem, for every step that I take (for there a

Gratitude Is the Parent of all Virtues
"Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all the others." -Cicero, Ancient Roman Statesman and Philosopher, Cicero books//Gratitude is more than saying 'Thank You'; it is living in a state of thankfulness. It is truly appreciating the people, experiences, blessings and circumstances that create an existence unique to you. Gratitude is a state of being, which when cultivated properly projects itself like beams of sunlight radiating from an individual out unto the world. It is not a reflective force, bur rather it generates its own source of energy from within. It is the internal combustion engine that powers our desire to help one another and spread the seeds of virtue upon the common ground of human existence. Without gratitude, the seeds are never sown, and in the
