Dead Goldfish Registered To Vote In Illinois
Anything With A Name Can Be Registered To Vote- No Voter Fraud Says DemocratsThe paperwork sent to a "Princess Nudelman" likely came from the "Women's Voices, Women Vote" project, which sent nearly 1 million mailings to Illinois households in August using a list that mistakenly included some pets, said Sarah Johnson, a spokeswoman for the not-for-profit group that encourages single women to vote.T

So, there you have it, we got Alleke a lesson about life and death for her birthday.Last night on the way home from the pet sto

      Feeding Your Pet Goldfish
Goldfish is probably one of the most popular aquarium pet fish if only because it is easy to take care of. Rightly so. However, you should care and maintain your fish tank correctly for your goldfish to last many years. One concern when owning goldfish is the amount of food to give it, as well as the frequency of feeding in a day. But first, where do you buy goldfish food? You can find one in any pet supply store. Avoid giving bread or cookie crumbs, rice morsels or even bits of meat. Goldfish food is especially formulated to properly feed and nourish your pet fish, and can be had at inexpensive price. You are sure to get your supply from the nearest pet supply store. One word of advice - do not overfeed your goldfish, as this can be disastrous in the end, and might even cause death to your pet fish. Give your fish just small amounts of food, which approximately can be consumed in minutes. Meals for your pet should only be twice a day, one in the morning and another in the evening.

My Friend’s Fish Tank, Pet Goldfish and Aquarium Decor
I just admire the aquarium of a neighbor friend of mine, a lover of exotic pet fish, as she proclaims she is. Albeit most of his fish are goldfish; all are really quite large in size already, about more or less the size of a closed fist. Some ten or so wonderful, funny pet goldfish she has actually; they have been swimming up and about for a good two years with not one of them getting sick (according to my friend), much less earning that trip to pet heaven. Her 25-liter aquarium is the opposite of what I want mine to be, simple, with real sea weeds and no fancy ceramic decorations. This way my aquarium is not cluttered and there is more room for my pet fish to swim about. Still, my neighbor's fish tank took my fancy, if only because it is well maintained. What matters most to me with an aquarium is the water. It must be clear, not cloudy because non-filtering of the water. Obviously, the water is clear of pet fish food, which means only the right amount of pet food is given to t

      Goldfish 101
Goldfish are hardy freshwater fish. While most people know about them, they do not necessarily know all about them. This article attempts to tell you a lot more. They originated from the Gibal Carp. Over the past 2000 years, beginning in China, Goldfish were the result of breeding and early genetic like experimentation. Unlike many other species, various genetic traits can be changed over 3-4 generations with Goldfish. Wild "Goldfish" live in an environment of ponds, lakes, and other water holes and can be found in Moving and still water ranging from 50 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit / 10 to 32 degrees Celsius. The largest types of goldfish can grow to be upwards of 12 inches/ 30 cm and with weights around 5 pounds / 2.5 Kg. In the wild, their colors tend to be darker and paler which seems to be a direct result of the amount of light in their environment. Their colors actually include gold, bronze, and pink. They have a couple sub-hues of the sort too, metallic and calico. It is time to

Of course, some of these things are part normal everyday life in China’s eastern culture, but might be very different from what you’ll see in western cultures. If you want to buy a goldfish or baby koi fish in Nanjing, this is where you will end up. Of course, in China, you can buy a lot of things from the back of big tricycles. Everything from fruits and vegetables to cakes, candy, and even heating coal. These tricycles are actually totally mobile stores, and can be found on different street corners every day. I think it’s brilliant, because once you’ve sold your goods to everyone in a neighborhood, you simply pedal your tricycle a few blocks away, and see how sales go there. Of course, many of these entrepreneurs are not actually licensed businesses in China. So when the police come by, the tricycle retailer becomes a tricycle transporter, and zips down the stree

The no-respect goldfish rates an A-plus expert
From Chicago TribuneGoldfish are the Rodney Dangerfields of the aquarium world. When Jo Ann Burke of Semmes, Ala., started keeping these hardy little fish in 1976, and even when she started importing fancy specimens from China a decade later, no one diagnosed goldfish. No one could tell her what it meant when a goldfish yawns (oxygen deprivation, perhaps) or when it has white eye flecks (brain flukes -- yikes). So, in the early 1990s, this mother of eight enrolled at the University of Florida at Gainesville to do graduate-level course work that led to her certification in the diagnosis and treatment of freshwater fish disease.Based on that scientific grounding -- as well as trial and error amid the 8,500 gallons of aquaria that filled her home -- she pioneered ideas such as the 3 percent salt dip: putting a newcomer in a solution of 2 cups rock salt (never table salt) to 5 gallons tank water."You put them in for one to five minutes, and when they belly up, it means they're done," she sa

Goldfish, Toys and Maya's Socks At The Wedding
Well, I’m sitting here in the Omaha airport, waiting for a flight that’s been delayed two plus hours to get me back to Atlanta. The fam is heading to Kansas with the in-laws for their summer sojurn to Washington County, and I will get started on my honey do list beginning tomorrow evening (today I have to get home, walk the dog, mow the lawn…not honey dos as much as everyday dos). I have to say, there were a lot of memorable moments at the wedding over the past weekend. We’ll start with the fact that as my brother-in-law walked down the aisle, the batteries in the digital camera went kaput. This of course means I’ll take a lot of crappy pictures with the camera phone instead. Nonetheless… Maya loved being a flower girl. Maya was the queen bee flower girl. Where she went, the others followed. Adorable. She loved the bow in her hair, alot! Ms. Goldfish
I noticed unfortunately that I was missing a goldfish at the office. Because I needed a certain number of goldfishes as per my previous post about Feng Shui for Your Aquarium, I went to my LFS today to get one. While I was there browsing, I noticed this really interesting goldfish that I couldn’t pass up. I hope that because it’s not completely “gold” it won’t be that bad. But it looks like it’s got lipstick and mascara or eyeliner (not sure what it’s called haha). pretty interesting huh? Since I’m on the topic of goldfish, my black goldfish (moor) is turning colors. It used to have a completely black body but now the body area is fading and no longer black. I also had another golden goldfish that turned completely white. How strange…anyone know why?

Japanese Goldfish That Live In A Fryer!
This is bizarre but oh so cool. Now I know it’s in Japanese so most of you readers/viewers (myself included) can’t understand what’s going on but seeing is believing… yes, that really is some goldfish living inside a deep fat fryer. Luckily YouTube commenter and contributor maxhodges explains such “Unfortunately they don’t really explain well enough to understand well. But there is a cooling system between the water and the oil. It took them ten years to develop it. So the bits of tempura batter fall down and stick together, which keeps the oil clean (the bits don’t float around and burn). Also, if you throw frozen pieces of food into a fryer, usually the oil will react violently, but now the waters sinks and cools instead of becoming vapor.” Can I finish by saying I WANT ONE… no, not a fryer, just one of the goldfish will do, deep fried and on a plate would be good ;) Source: Paul at Toy Bender Japan, Japanese Goldfish, Go

Perhaps you've been on pins and needles, waiting to hear how Aristides and Sally have fared in our humble home.Well wait no longer, it pains me to report that they didn't last a week. It was five days or so into their familial induction when our love became too much for them and they shuffled off this mortal coil in search of a better world. It was Lillian's first experience with death and there were a few heart-wrenching sobs about her love for Sally--her first pet--and her inconsolable loss which was felt all the more keenly because Aristides ate Sally, nibbling off her tail and fins bit by bit until she was struggling around the tank. All the goldfish in the world and we get the cannibals. Great, just great. But as is common at age four, twenty minutes later Lillian was hiccoughing and smiling and asking for string cheese. The next week the kids were bequeathed 11 goldfish which had been part of the table decora

Scientists Test Sonic Levitation on Goldfish
Researchers at the Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi'an, China have developed a device that uses sound waves to levitate objects and small animals. Needless to say there has been substantial unrest in the Chinese cockroach community. Wenjun Xie and his team of colleagues used ultrasonic fields in their testing to keep a myriad of small animals in levitational stasis. Scientists were able to successfully levitate beetles, ants, spiders, ladybugs, tadpoles and fish between the sound wave emitter and reflector that comprise the device. While the ants, ladybugs and other insects were successfully levitated for over 30 minutes apiece without harm, the fish used in the experiment perished despite the scientists' attempts to add water to the field with a syringe. While the team has tested the levitation equipment on small quantities of mercury and iridium, the heaviest known liquid and solid respectively, this is the first time it has been used to levitate living creatures.
