My soil is consisted of a high percentage of clay, as a result I am required to aerate my lawn twice a year to avoid my soil getting too compacted. I am cheap so I purchased a $10 aerator from Home Depot which I walk around the lawn giving it a nice look of a goose bathroom until the next good rain or mowing. Of course nature has an answer which is the garden earthworm. As a finished limping behind my aerator I thought how can I get more earthworms to do some of this work for me, which brought me to the conclusion to turn my lawn and garden to a gigantic worm bin.
As worms wiggle through the ground they break up the soil and provide pathways for water and air to flow and while they are at it drop their nutrient castings along their way. Now looking at my tips on how to care for a worm
The S&P 500 ($SPX) has traded in a pattern of higher lows and lower highs since mid-January. The price action is, by definition, a triangle. This particular triangle has a bearish bias to it.The probabilities favor a break to the downside because of the existing downward trend in the market. But you might trade the pattern either way.The apex of the triangle is around 1350. If the $SPX breaks down, target 1280 in the short-term and see how the market behaves from there. If the $SPX holds, it might be viewed as a successful re-test, paving the way to a sustainable rally. Alternatively, a breakout to the upside will quickly encounter resistance at 1400. After that, 1425 to 1450 might serve as a short-term bullish target. But be quick to take profits in bullish positions.Use the $SPX
I was just about to take a break but damn, MSNBC is breaking with this shot of a rally being held in California to support the writers strike. It’s almost like one of those crowds in Rome when the Pope pops up on a balcony or something, except it’s not quite as big. Still, it’s flipping huge.
They also said Arnold Schwarzenegger is currently talking to both sides personally in an attempt to get them to work out their differences because naturally this strike is affecting more than just the writers and the studios and it’s kinda screwing up the economy there. I think after the past couple days regular people are starting to realize just how big the scope is of this thing and the effect it’s really going to have on TV shows if it continues on. There’s going to be a lot of happy people if a miracle gets pulled out but all I ever hear is how the studios don’t want to negotiate their terms, despite the ever growing number of people, including ac

This is the most anticipated match-up in the history of tennis. The most dominant player in this generation Roger Federer who entered his eight consecutive Grand Slam finals appearances against the superb and clay specialist Rafael Nadal who is eyeing for his third French Open in a row.
Who’s gonna win? I picked Federer last year and witnessed how Nadal excellently controlled the match. Federer has prepared himself for a year for this match and if he studied well enough the weaknesses and strengths of Nadal, I believe he will win.
But to consider that Nadal has extremely owned the clay in the last three years, Federer has to play his A plus game.
If Federer has to surpass the greatness of Pete Sampras, he has to capture this Grand Slam which Sampras was denied.
I can’t wait to watch them play.

Remember the days when cell phones were huge and you could carry them around like suitcases (like this one)? Well this one would have topped them all back in the day. Although this gigantic Samsung is for promotional purposes only, it’s supposedly fully functional.
MSNBC.com just striked a deal with centain cinemas in the US to replace those undesirable pre-movie ads with a giant, crowd collaborative game. The game is Newsbreaker, a basic break-outish game and as you win points, it shows you real-time RSS news headlines. All thats unimporant, but what is; is the gameplay, a motion sensor allows the entire movie audience to control the paddle by waving their arms simutaneously, sorta like Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man. Watch how the crowd gets into it at a SpiderMan3 screening at the bridge in LA after the jump. (more…)
Hubble Space Telescope has just discovered a gigantic, ghostly ring of dark matter at a distance of 5 billion light-years from Earth. So far, it's the most compelling evidence of the existence of the elusive dark matter.Scientists have theorized on the existence of dark matter for some time, and they think it's a cosmic phenomenon that does not emit or reflect enough electromagnetic radiation to be observed directly, but who...read more....
Dear America,I, Carlos Mencia, officially declare myself to be a gigantic douche. Yes, I have officially surpassed John Edwards as the biggest douche in the universe. My constant unfunny standup combined with my blatant stealing of material has all contributed to my doucheyness. The most recent example of my douchery was my stealing of Bill Cosby's material. That's right, I blatantly stole material from one of the most famous comedians of all time, from one of his most recognizable bits of all time. If that isn't supreme doucheness, I don't know what is. This shouldn't really come as a surprise to you. I've been called a douche before. I've also admitted to my lack of comedic ability. But now, with this official declaration (along with an affidavit signed by every comedian in the world except Dane Cook, who isn't really an original comedian anyway) I clear up any misgivings and admit to my douchery. So it is written, so it shall be done. Please, I urge you to boycott my
The 200-year-old mystery of where some of the world's largest flowers sit in the botanical family tree has finally been solved by scientists.
To their surprise, the plants, which have up to 1m-wide (3ft), blood-red, rotten-flesh stinking flowers, belong to a group bearing tiny blooms.
The Rafflesiaceae were tricky to place because of their unusual features, the team reports in the journal Science.
Such traits include the fact that they are rootless, leafless and stemless.
...And the strange plants, which can be found growing on the jungle floor in southeast Asia, are also parasitic. Eschewing the process of photosynthesis, the Rafflesiaceae bed down in the tissue of the tropical grape vine, feasting upon the nutrients it provides.
...Charles Davis (lab), assistant professor of organismic and evolutionary biology at Harvard University and lead author of the Science paper, said: "These plants are so strange - almost extra-terrestrial - wherever they were placed [within the family tree]
A giant sinkhole measuring 40 meters in diameter and 60 meters deep, swallowed 12 homes and killed 2 people including at least one truck early Friday in a Guatemala neighbourhood, likely due to a burst sewer pipe. The crater appeared in the capital's San Antonio neighbourhood on Thursday night. Authorities evacuated around a thousand people on Friday fearing more land could collapse into a fast-flowing river of sewage below. There were, at first 3 missing people who had lived in a house that was claimed by the hole almost as soon as it started to open. Two bodies showed up about a mile downstream. Neighbours said the ground had been shaking for weeks after a huge sewer pipe burst, making the ground underneath the houses unstable.Unbelievable pictures of the gigantic hole are available from the 'read more' link below.read more | digg story
We were living in a home in a suburb of Minneapolis, MN when the first 'huge invisible crash' happened. It was night time and we were upstairs sleeping. We had three small children at the time, all under the age of six and they were all in bed asleep. From the main floor below us we heard a huge CRASH and an enormous amount of glass breaking. As the inital crash and glass breakage died out the sound of the last remanents of glass tinkling and falling and smashing finally died out. We rushed down the stairs, me saying "I just know it was the big picture window, I just know it!" But it wasn't! The picture window in the family room was intact. As was the living room windows, the dining room patio door and every other window in the house! We searched high and low looking for anything that had fallen and broke but we found nothing. Absolutely nothing. I would like to have blamed it on ice falling off the roof or something else similar but it was May and there was no ice. We
One night Coffeehusband and I were sleeping in bed when we heard a tremendous crash from the main level of the house. The crashing was a mixture of something heavy crashing to the floor, thumping and smashing along with the sound of break glass accompanying it. At the first crash we both bolted awake and then realizing whatever it was crashing wasn't something we could stop by rushing down, we sat in bed staring at the doorway until the crashing stopped. It had lasted about 8-10 seconds. We both had the same vision in our mind; our kitchen cupboards must have somehow fallen off the wall and crashed to the counter and floor below. The house is new construction and should be sturdy, but I was immediately berating myself for the heavy canned goods in one of the cupboards, and for putting the good china in the top cupboard, as well as lamenting the loss of all what sounded like every single glass, mug and cup we owned.Coffeehusband and I came down the stairs expecting to find a huge
