Green Raven,scratchboard,14" x 18", giclee on canvas or paper, your choice, optional framing choices.View large image at my giclee galleryThis is a character I developed in 2005. He is wise, he is strong, he survives the onslaughts of life. He is also a trickster and a shape shifter, being a true survivor, thus an inspiration and protector. A guiding force through difficult trials; he inspires. In this pose, he wears his blue heart on his wing so when he flies, he thinks of you. This is from my original scratchboard drawing.Technorati tags: art, artwork, artist, scratchboard, drawing, animals, animal drawings, raven, birds, ecology, environment, wildlife art, wildlife, mystical

Norwegian Barnscratchboard on clayboard, giclee available from artistsee the big picture hereThis type of barn is a familiar site around southwest Washington. The area was settle by Norwegians, and I'm assuming this is from their style. You can spot these beauties in geat pastoral settings, often with sheep, cows or horses hanging around.
Elephant Familyscratchboard on clayboard, giclee available hereThese three elephants represent a family in the shelter of a giant abstract sunflower. I have a great respect for these magestic animals and they are such sensitive and deep creatures they seem to exude wisdom. We are still ignorant as to their forms of communication, but scientists discover they have a secret language. They have a very complex family structure and I wanted to show them in their daily lives walking along protected by a mystical flower overhead--just the way the spirit of my grandmother protects me as I walk along through life. This piece is a few years old but is only recently being offered as a giclee.
Cow Dreams, pastel, 11"x14", giclee available from artistThese kids were at the county fair last year and took a nap with their cows in their stalls. I loved the idea and the image, so I set them in a field with a vibrant sky.
Dunes, scratchboard on claybord, 24" x 30",giclee availableA young man and his dog on the beach after winding their way through the dunes, stand silently to watch the moon peek through night clouds. The dunes with their ebb and flow textures and colors, have been an inspiration to me for many years. These dunes are on McGrath beach in Ventura, CA. The colors in this drawing are blues, violets, mustards and sharp whites. From my original scratchboard drawing. This piece has won several awards.
The Soap Factoryscratchboard on clayboard, giclee available, purchase from artist 14" x 11", $60This is an old art deco building in downdown Longview, WA. I was fascinated by the architecture of this 1920's art deco building --the bricks and the windows especially. Inside this elegant little shop are some very hep and lovely ladies who make their own hand made soaps, infusing products with an an array of herbal fragrances and intoxicating aromatic little wonderful, useless things. I thought it was an interesting dichotomy to see a motorcycle parked out front. Food for thought. hmmm......go here for the big picture
Bob's Surplus Store Displayscratchboard giclee on canvas 20" x 24" $95This is a store display of a real old truck from an old fashioned hunting/fishing general store in town that called out to me. I love antique cars and trucks. In my scratchboard drawing I made the atmosphere around it one of reverence. After all, this old timer vehicle has survived a long time and deserves respect.
Model T 14" x 18" canvas giclee $95 This wonderful truck is sitting on the Faulkner Farm and Pumpkin Patch in Santa Paula, CA. Each fall the ranch holds a pumpkin patch festival where families come and pick a pumpkin, go for a hay ride pulled by draft horses and enjoy a multitude of autumn squashes, gourds, and giant sunflowers to choose from. This print is from my original scratchboard drawing.
