Class-size proposal gets one more chance
A proposal to scale back the 2002 class-size amendment to school-wide averages, rather than classroom counts, almost died Monday at the Florida Taxation and Budget Reform meeting. Almost. Facing certain defeat with a 15-10 vote against putting the amendment to...

Geraldine Ferraro Gets One Right, for a Change
Liberalism is truly a devastating mental disorder. How else to explain the national furor that has driven liberal Democrats to devour one of their own over a benign remark made by Geraldine Ferraro? A remark that just happens to be true?

Britney Spears gets one night a week with kids
Britney Spears actually did appear in court yesterday to personally request overnight visits with her children. Britney Spears had skipped the morning hearing, but decided it was time to make an appearance when the judge initially refused to grant overnight visits. E! Online reports: Britney Spears spent an hour answering the judge’s questions, before ducking down a back staircase and leaving the premises in her white Mercedes convertible.Gordon apparently had a change of heart after the meet-and-greet with Britney Spears. Earlier Thursday, he dismissed both legal teams without adjusting the visitation terms. He said he wanted to allow attorneys more time to discuss any proposed modifications. Britney Spears was granted one overnight visit a week, but under the watch of a court-appointed supervisor. Britney was hoping to have her mother serve as a monitor, but the judge wouldn’t allow it. He also didn’t see the children’s current visiting schedule as destructive, but fo

Socialising with Sanjay Dutt gets one constable suspended and 6 others get verbal whiplash!
I can't believe the news today: R.R. Patil and the rest of the government machinery are upset at the police constables who hugged and shook hands with Sanjay Dutt upon his release. The constable who was seen hugging Sanju has been suspended and a show cause notice has been served to 8 others who shook hands with Sanju. A parallel inquiry is being carried out by inspector general of jails Satish Mathur against some Yerwada officials who allegedly tried to ensure special treatment for Sanjay. “The Maharashtra Civil Service Conduct rules as well as the police manual forbids policemen and government servants from extending friendly gestures towards convicts. It is seen as a violation of conduct expected of a government servant,” said information officer Vasant Titke.“Why is it that lowly police constables are penalised for such actions while a state cabinet minister like Baba Siddiqui openly flaunts his friendship with Sanjay, accompanies him to courts, receives him when he is out

The Coming Ass Age Climatologist Dr. Timothy Ball is featured in the new documentary debunking global warming, titled “The Great Global Warming Swindle.” For this heresy, Ball has received hate mail with such messages as, “If you continue to speak out, you won’t live to see further global warming.” I’m against political writers whining about their hate mail because it makes them sound like Paul Krugman. But that’s political writers arguing about ideology. Global warming is supposed to be “science.” It’s hard to imagine Niels Bohr responding to Albert Einstein’s letter questioning quantum mechanics with a statement like: “If you continue to speak out, you won’t live to see further quantum mechanics.” Come to think of it, one can’t imagine the pope writing a letter to Jerry Falwell saying, “If you continue to s
