Atheists just hate God.
Atheists hate Christians.
Atheists have a negative outlook on life.
As an atheist, I can assure you that I do not hate god. The statement that an atheist hates god is about as nonsensical as saying that Christians hate sentient hamburgers. In order for someone to “hate” something, one must actually believe that the something exists. How can I possibly hate that which I do not believe exists? Please, I would really like an answer to this one.
As for hating Christians (or any other theist, for that matter), nothing could be further from the truth. For the most part, I do not know you. Just like the example above, I would have to have a certain degree of knowledge about you before I could decide whether or not I “hate” you. Seems rather fundamental to me.
As for the negative outlook, I would contend that theists hold more of a negative outlook on life than an atheist would. Otherwise, why look forward
Last week I mentioned (in Four Letter Word Starting with -S-) that we could get our first shot of snow this week around the 8th of November. Looks like that cold air will get in here a little earlier.
An area of low pressure will move into the region this week bringing with it the coldest air of the season. It will start out in the Northern Plains & Upper Midwest with very strong gusty winds. There are already numerous wind advisories for this region and in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and parts of Northern Wisconsin we are seeing winter storm warnings and lake effect snow advisories.
Of course this blast of winter will not be isolated to locations mentioned above. It will move into our area late Monday Night, through the day Tuesday and the cold will linger for the remainder of the week.
As the cold air moves over the relatively warm lake waters (Nov 5th Water temperature for Lake Erie near Erie, PA was 50 degrees) this sets up the first lake effect snows for the season.

Sure, politicians always appreciate a warm welcome when they appear on daytime TV talk shows. But the welcome House Speaker Nancy Pelosi got today on ABC’s chick TV show “The View” was more than warm - it was downright steamy.
Even before Pelosi walked on stage to take her seat at the round table, the show’s moderator, Whoopi Goldberg, and its co-hosts - with former news anchor Barbara Walters leading the pack - started flirting with the speaker’s husband, Paul, who was seated in the front row.
“You wanna take a look at Nancy Pelosi’s handsome husband?” Walters asked the audience. Yes, came the answer in the form of whooping and hollering.

In many places, one being where I live, flyball is a four letter word. What does that mean you say? It means that the majority of dog people, obedience and agility, think that flyball is a bad thing. I have been battling this for the last 7 years and it hasn’t gotten any better. I think it mostly stems from a few people but when those few people are the only ones in the area that offer agility training their voices are pretty loud.

In some circles, clone is considered a dirty word. I am, of course, referring to Photoshop's clone tool. There seems to be several camps, or schools of thought, regarding this issue. On the one hand, there are photographers such as Stephen Johnson whose philosophy is not to make any changes whatsoever to a scene after the photograph is taken. In one interview, he mentioned that he hadn't noticed a piece of garbage (as I recall, it was a paper cup or soda can) that was in an image of his that ultimately became the cover shot for one of his books. His publisher asked him to remove the relatively small piece of trash and he refused to do so. Though I would not have had a problem with cloning the item out of the image, I respect his decision not to and, moreover, am a great admirer of his.
