I know I said I was going to start posting Mad Click Mondays again but what I'm going to post about felt so much more important.In one of my posts I asked you for thoughts and prayers Tawnya Hopkins who is a mother of three boys that has dealt with more than her share of cancer. Unfortunately I don't have any good news to report. At this point we're all hoping for a miracle and hoping she at least gets this last Christmas with her family. One of the great things about being a part of a parenting board is the love that comes from them and for Tawnya they have been amazing. So far....-We have tried to take care of everything on her wish lists for her 6 year old twins, her toddler, her husband, and her as well. -At last count over $1000 has been donated to help give them a magical Christmas and help out with a few things. -A bunch of us have emailed our pictures to a gal who is putting together a video montage for Tawnya that will show her the faces of all the women who love her. -Quil

I'm back, sort of. I had a major flare up of my rheumatoid arthritis last week, and I'm still fighting it. Just when I thought I was doing better, I get slammed with this pain and exhaustion, and I don't know how to deal with it. The first day or two, I tuck into bed and take it easy. I try to enjoy the rest and read as much as I can. By the fourth day, I'm ready to pull out my hair as the house descends into chaos around me, and I'm helpless to do anything about it. Jesse's in his last week of school before he gets his associate's degree, so he's swamped with schoolwork, and the kids are at their dad's for the month, and when they are home, they don't want to help with the mess they weren't there to make. So the house is a wreck, the laundry (clean and dirty) is piling up, and I want to scream in frustration. Both of the young Elders impress me. To be a part of such a beating, and then to unconditionally forgive your offenders, I think that exemplifies charity, the true love of Christ. Today's "Moment of Dad" is all about stuff...in particular, stuff I associate with my dad.Over the course of Dad's life, he accumulated lots o' stuff. Our friend Bani is a pain in the ass. One fine day in late May 2007 he launched a mouth watering story of his dining experience in a sea side restaurant in Bagan Lalang, Sepang, Selangor. Bani, all knowingly that the Big Fat Ferocious Eating Monster will drool and dream of seafood that night, had purposely described the varieties of fish, crabs, clams and prawns that were available there at very cheap price. Bagan Lalang is a place unknown to us. So I persuade Bani to take us there. He said okay, let us all go at the end of the following month!! So late!
