      Flawed Me…
I realise with a hit on my face that i take things at face value a little too much and too often, almost always. Have to start taking things which a pinch of salt and be rational. And see things from a wider perspective.

      Broadband Speed tests flawed
We've seen TV programmes like the Gadget Show urge us to test our broadband speeds to make sure that we're getting the fast connection speed we pay for. In response, internet providers have hit back and criticised the way these tests are carried out, saying that they cannot be relied upon to provide accurate results.

      Genetically Flawed Men
This isn’t really related to cosmetic surgery, but we thought it was interesting anyway. According to the BBC, researchers have found that genetics may be blamed for a man’s hesitation to tie the knot. Referred to as a genetic ‘flaw’, an attachment hormone that is affected by a genetic variant causes men to resist settling down, or [...]

      Fear of Failing Found Flawed
In our lives we are afraid of many things, and we each have our way of dealing with them. But I have a theory about fear. You see fear is really a lie. Let me show you the evidence that I found through my extensive investigation. It first started when I was in school; I was not the brightest student. I was usually a member of the ‘slow group’ and was not as far on as the others. In that grou

Human Rights Watch has issued its long awaited report on human rights abuses of women in Saudi Arabia by focusing on the Kingdom's male guardianship laws. This earnest but ultimately flawed report provides little new insight into the daily discrimination that Saudi women face, although HRW staff interviewed 109 women over a three-week period in Riyadh, Damman, Jeddah and Al-Ahsa. “These are issues that I and other Saudi women have been talking about publicly for many years," Hatoon Al-Fassi, a Saudi historian, complained to the Associated Press. "We are able to raise these issues and the group just confirmed what Saudi women have been saying. What was expected of such a group is more original research work rather than repackaging what is known." While the report discusses to some degr

Liberal Associated Press “Journalist” Fails to Read Flawed Global Warming Study He Reported

We use law, science and the support of 1.2 million members and online activists to protect the planet's wildlife and wild places and to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all living things.” Not only is it a lobbying organization by its own admission, this would imply a confl

      Limewire: flawed but still good.
Usually I tend to avoid popular things. Most often than not it turns out to be overrated and a waste of my precious time. Not like I don’t have other useless things to pay attention to. When it comes to file sharing I use Ares. It is free of viruses, somewhat fast and doesn’t bog down my computer. Instead of doing a review that would most likely turn out to be bias(I have no problem with it, so it would probably be three paragraphs maximum), I decided to try out Limewire. “Why limewire” you pretend to ask? Because it is one of the most popular search terms on Yahoo! Buzz and I am looking for somewhat guaranteed page views, that’s why. Limewire Review.

Free Calls-SMS: Hackers: Social networking sites flawed
Free Calls-SMS: Hackers: Social networking sites flawedLAS VEGAS -- Social networking Web sites such as MySpace.com are increasingly juicy targets for computer hackers, who are demonstrating a pair of vulnerabilities they claim expose sensitive personal information and could be exploited by online criminals. The flaws are being demonstrated this week at the Black Hat and Defcon hacker conferences, which draw thousands of people to Las Vegas each year for five days of training and demonstrations of the latest exploits.Black Hat, the more genteel of the two events with heavy industry sponsorship and big admission fees, ended Thursday with some 4,000 attendees. Defcon, larger and more roguish, started smoothly Friday, without any of the registration problems that irked fire officials last year and caused lengthy delays. Organizers said more than 6,800 people attended the first day, with more expected Saturday. There was a moment of drama in the afternoon when organizers received a tip that

New "Discovery" -- Gene Theory Flawed
It’s been presumed that genes in the human body operate independently of one another since 1976. The first biotech company was founded on this premise, and the entire $73.5-billion biotechnology industry as we know it today still adheres to this basic principle. Now for the shocker: they’re wrong. It’s been known for years that genes in other organisms operate as part of a network. Despite this, researchers only translated this knowledge to humans in June, when they report being “surprised” to learn that the human genome is not a “tidy collection of independent genes” but rather a complex network that interacts and overlaps with itself in ways that are not yet understood.Scientific Basis for Countless Safety Studies ShatteredRisk assessments conducted for all of today’s biotech products, including genetically modified (GM) foods, pharmaceuticals and more, were based on the flawed independent gene theory, which presumed that a gene in one item would have a uniform effect

Kentucky Education Commissioner: Flawed process undermines confidence
CommentaryWe are told the search for a new state education commissioner to replace an excellent Gene Wilhoit has gone according to plan. If so - it must be a strange plan. State board chairman Keith Travis told the Herald-Leader "When we started the search process the entire board agreed on an entire process to go through” because they wanted to get a large number of qualified applicants while ensuring their confidentiality. But when the state board met in executive session, narrowing its commissioner search down to three individuals they refused to release the names, telling WHAS reporter Mark Hebert that the board only planned to release the name of one finalist, the person the school board planned to hire. All indications were that the state board was following the Barnhart plan. Everything was hush, hush. But the board of education was not reviewing the resumes of any Billy Ds or Billy Gs. Apparently, no sitting commissioners viewed Kentucky as a better place to go to advanc

      Microsoft OneCare Flawed
For once, a Microsoft employee (most likely a soon-to-be-former employee at this point) has admitted something most of us have known for a long time: Microsoft OneCare shouldn’t have been released. Anyone who’s actually tried using OneCare has known this for a long time. Add to that the recent discoveries that OneCare fails to pass independent testing (actually, it was the only product tested that failed to gain any certifications) and OneCare fails to protect Windows Vista (but to be fair, McAfee isn’t doing much better in that regard). My favourite quotes from the article that pretty accurately sum things up: Asked about these problems, Arno Edelmann, Microsoft’s European business security product manager, told ZDNet UK on Thursday that the code itself has pieces missing. “Usually Microsoft doesn’t develop products, we buy products. It’s not a bad product, but bits and pieces are missing,” said Edelmann. So, in other words, Microsoft

The Democrats Flawed Logic and Economics
Don’t be surprised when you pay more for gasoline.  It will e a result of the twisted logic used by the Democrats to extort money from the oil companies.  The result will be less drilling for oil and increased pressure on supplies. The Interior Department signed binding leases with some of America's largest oil companies back in 1998-99, “allowing” the firms to drill in deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, far outside any internationally recognized 6- or 12-mile territorial limit. The government doesn't spend any money facilitating that expensive deep drilling, mind you. It doesn't “subsidize” those operations in any traditional use of the term. Rather, Washington charges the oil companies for the “privilege” of keeping our homes heated and our cars on the road - and then sharply restricts where, in international waters, the drilling can occur. If the oil companies tried to get away with paying less than called for in the lea

You know the system's flawed if it takes two years to plan a debate
How long does it take to organise a presidential debate? All you need is a university auditorium full of well-behaved people, a stage that looks too big for the two podiums placed on it, and a desk for Jim Lehrer to look uncomfortable sitting behind it. Yet, this Associated Press story in the Las Vegas Sun, says that the Commission on Presidential Debates is already looking at venues, and the University of Nevada, Reno is on the shortlist. The Commission is, of course, a paragon of fairness, propriety, impartiality and incorruptability. So why UNR? It's the alma mater of Commission co-chair Frank Fahrenkopf.
