Cervelli injured - First Test for General Joe
When I think of a defining moment for the Joe Torre style of management I think of the Pedro vs. Zimmer. Here was a guy in Pedro who repeatedly went for the heads of the Yankees best players and the tone set former the top was to maintain dignity and focus on the game. Now this strategy might have actually helped add to Pedro's frustration but it also hurt the Yankees quite a bit over the years. How often did the Red Sox hit our best players and pitch inside while we nibbled on the outside corner for fear of creating conflict? With the hiring of General Joe my first reaction was " Now can we finally back Ortiz off homeplate?!?" Well, Girardi has a chance to send a message with the bush league play by the Rays yesterday that resulted in a broken wrist for Cervelli. A public scorning is no

      First Test: 2009 Nissan Murano
Nissan’s in a funny place with the Murano-sales have increased every year since it went on sale, but the model was getting a little stale. Plus, new, fresh entries are overwhelming the segment: There were only a handful of crossovers five years ago-now there are easily 20-25. The second-gen Murano looks much like the original, with some notable exceptions. There’s the new front end, for example, which uses a more angular grille, narrow, sportier headlights, and a much brighter finish. It is more aggressive, yet more refined than the old front fascia. Nissan also upgraded the wheel and tire package, with the same result, and 18-inch alloys are standard, with a 20-inch option. Some differences take a little longer to notice, such as the character line along the sides and the new taillight design. Those are much more obvious when looking at photos of a 2007 (there’s no 2008) next to a 2009. With the next generation comes a new front-drive based platform — called &l

      First Test
If only I could join earlier I would understand all the lessons better; it was quite difficult to get started into halfway.Anyway, I had my first test invigilation on my third day of work. Sally Ng was a nice lady and she taught and helped me a lot. It was a mess to make students print out their papers during the test. After that, I made a few rounds of fast walking and running to search for Mrs Seetoh who left her class in my classroom without letting me know. Then, I had to tolerate the class's nagging to release them early.I talked to one of the guys who seemed to be rotting his life away. I did not have the time to talk more to him with the noisy girls around, but I hoped my questions for him could make him reflect more on himself. SiLlYDuMb @ http://sillydumb.com

      Hussey targets first Test comeback
INJURED batsman Mike Hussey has targeted this summer's first Test match as the likely return date from the first hamstring tear of his career. And he wants to stay in the middle order if he makes it. Hussey arrived back in Perth after being ruled out of the entire tour of India with a left hamstring injury picked up in the Twenty20 World Championship semi-final in South Africa. Forced to miss the upcoming limited overs series against the Indians, Hussey joins captain Ricky Ponting and perennial hamstring victim Shane Watson as casualties from the frenetic Twenty20 tournament. And saying the softer grounds in South Africa may have contributed to the string of injuries, Hussey said he was learning how to deal with his. "I don't really know (how serious it is). It is the first time I have ever done a hamstring, so I am playing it by ear at the moment," Hussey said. "It is a bit hard to predict exactly how long it is going to take to get back, but my focus is to get b

      First test 2007 vs Wales
Right, so first test vs Wales tomorrow. Really looking forward to seeing the green and gold out on the paddock again, however I've got a mixture of interest and worry about the experimentation still happening with the side - especially in the backs. Some key thoughts about this test:1 - This welsh side is not crapThe five-eighth James Hook (pictured) was probably the best in the six nations this year. They've even been able to leave class players like Michael Owen on the bench. All the media hype about this being a crap welsh team is not good for the wallabies who have proven to believe their own hype far too easily. Also great ammo for welsh psych-up.2 - Aussie back line pick-n-mixSo let's now look at our back-line for this test. Instead of the Gregan-Larkham connection that pulled the Brumbies' arses out of the fire at the end of last season, we've got:at 9 - the Giteau half back experiment. One good game there, hasn't played the spot since tour last year. Jury still out.at 10

      Vaughan out of first Test
Michael Vaughan is likely to miss the first Test between England and West Indies at Lord's after breaking a finger. The Yorkshire batsman, who scored 72 in his first inning of the County Championship season yesterday, was looking in reasonable touch in his return to the first-class arena. However, his presence in the first Test match for England this summer looks in doubt after scans revealed he has suffered a fracture and could be out of action for up to a month. Yorkshire physio Scott McAllister said he initially did not think the injury was a "serious problem" but a trip to hospital confirmed the worst. "It's desperately bad luck for Michael after the succession of problems he's had to contend with, and we will be monitoring his progress over the next few days," McAllister told the Yorkshire Post. "It looks like he might be out for three to four weeks, but it's too early to say with absolute certainty." Vaughan has suffered a succession of debilitat
