Yesterday's Thursday Talkback question was whether your finances were worse, better or about the same as this time last year. One of my readers, Kara, asked me the same question. If you are looking for options where in you need a bigger amount that too at cheap rates to meet your diverse needs, then you should apply for secured loans. In the UK loan market, these loans are very easy to access and are offered by almost all the lenders. You can virtually use the amount to execute any of your needs such as renovating home, consolidating debts, purchasing a car, wedding, higher education and so on.To raise the finances under these loans, all that you need to do is to provide any asset as collateral. The collateral placed can be a home, real estate property, and car etc and acts as a security against the loan amount. Due to the presence of collateral, the interest rates for these loans are comparatively low. Not only this the repayment term for the loans is quit and str
The past few weeks I've been reminded in a bunch of ways of just how woefully inadequate I've been when it comes to praying to God in all things. As Christians I feel we constantly need to be in relationship with Christ, seeking guidance, asking for things we need and praising him for all the blessings he has given us. This includes praying about our financial life.Photo by greefus groinksA couple of weeks ago at church our pastor talked about prayer in his message. He said that we need to approach God in prayer, and not just with generalities, but with specifics. A lot of times we don't see the need to be specific in our prayer because we figure that "God already knows what I need". But God likes specifics. Look at the story of the blind man that was healed by Jesus in Luke 18:He c

The country's two main warring coalitions both ran in this month's elections on platforms promising to lighten the financial burden of average Italians. Only when the new government takes office next month will Italians see which promises are kept.If the future is a distressing question mark, the Roman couple, like many Italians, blame the rising feeling of precariousness on at least one major event rooted in the recent past: the introduction of the euro as legal tender in 2002.
I do in my household. For me doing the household finances are something I don't mind, apart from seeing all the bills which means money going out the door. I also do the budgeting, taxes and investments. I have a natural affinity for all things finance, a reason I write this blog, and my wife thinks all this finance "stuff" is extremely boring. She has a good job, deals with numbers in her job, but when it comes to household finances, she is more than happy to leave it to me. By: Roshawn WatsonThis post is part of the Budgeting: Your Foundation for Wealth seriesThe budget allows you to exercise better control over your finances because you know what is going on with your finances . Control means to exercise restraint or direction over; to dominate, regulate, or to command (Webster’s Dictionary). Now apply that definition to your finances. A budget enables you to direct, regulate, and dominate your finances. This is the second benefit for budgeting, and by far, it is worth getting excited about. You may ask why is controlling your finances important. For example, some feel like disciplined spending takes the fun out of life. I would argue that discipline gives birth to habits which are not that difficult at all; however, undisciplined spending often yields more
A lender’s credit scoring system allocates points for each item of relevant information. It shows whether you are a homeowner, your employment status and income, and adds these up to produce a score. If your score reaches a certain level then the lender may agree to your loan request. Or if you do not score highly enough, your application may be turned down. More so, if you have no worth asset to guarantee your loan repayment, then the problem gravitates more. For bad credit unsecured loans have been specifically designed for people with bad credit scores. You can secure such loans by applying it through banks, building societies and high street lenders. These loans are personal in nature. The latest issue of the Combating Terrorism Center at West Point's excellent online journal, CTC Sentinel , was released today, inlcuding an article in which I present a snapshot of al Qaeda's continuing ability to raise funds through traditional methods, even as the al Qaeda core itself is reportedly short on cash. A reverse directional flow of funds from disparate al Qaeda cells back to al Qaeda senior leadership in the Afghanistan-Pakistan area may suggest a further degeneration of the al Qaeda...(read more)

It never fails. Everytime I turn on the TV, I hear more depressing news about how bad the economy is. Much as I try to ignore it, I just can't get away from it. Even when I'm not watching TV, I can see it all around me. Not only is it the rising gas prices and rising prices on food (due to the high gas prices), it's also the numerous foreclosure and "for sale" signs in my neighborhood and my shrinking 401k balance. I personally feel that things will get worse before they get better. I don't think sending out a few hundred dollars will stimulate the economy. If you are already behind on mortgage payments and barely making ends meet, this money will help but it probably won't turn things around that much. I can't control the economy, but to an extent, I can control how I handle my finances i

Finances can be one of the biggest stressors on a family.
It is listed as the number one reason for divorce.
I don’t know all the reasons why, but Jimmy and I have never had an argument about finances. Ever.
We’ve had arguments about other things, but not finances.
Here’s our story and three things that we think have played a role in our stress free financial life.
1. Get Out of Debt.
When Jimmy and I got married we had over $35,000 in college debt. After we finished school and started working, we decided to pay off our debt as fast as we possibly could.
We were very serious about getting out of debt.
We lived in a roach infested apartment. I drove a 12 year old truck on a 45 minute commute in Houston. In the summer. Without air conditioning.
