Fickle Mortgage Market Demands Quick Decisions
Just about anyone who cares knows that interest rates on a 30-year, fixed-rate mortgage have dropped recently.
But by the time you figure out what that means for you, it could all change.
With the world's financial markets in uncharted territory, trying to get a handle on what's likely to happen to mortgage rates has become more baffling than
Mick Pattinson, president of the homebuilding company Barratt American, has recently been very vocal about banks which have declined to renew revolving credit facilities (thus potentially putting more builders out of business) as well as cities which became overly reliant on impact fees for new development during the boom, thus driving home prices even higher. Mick was one of the first builders

Looking back at the past, and having my moments of scars being reopened, I can understand how we all feel-especially after the last two years. But, after reading many comments on sites, and having a few of my own, I look back and see that the one thing many of us hammers don’t [...]
The one time rapper, current media mogul and style guru, Sean “P Diddy” Combs, is once again asking to go by his old handle, Puff Daddy. He’s taking a page out of Prince’s book and annoying the hell out of everyone by being just plain fickle!
Sean’s Former stylist, O’Neal McKnight, is releasing a new [...]
Something I’ve been pondering a lot recently in these new and different post-Writers-strike times, is what compels us to stick with a TV series? Why are we Fickle with some shows and Faithful to others? What makes us want to stick with a show that has disappointed us, while we quickly give up on another show [...]
While the State Bank of Viet Nam (SBV) affirms that the foreign currency market has been stabilized, commercial banks still complain that they cannot buy dollars and the central bank has to put billions of dollars into circulation.
In March 2008, SBV’s forex policy saw a change: it let the VND revaluate against the...

Designed by Shkinder Maxim, the Transformer Concept Phone is primarily a cell phone but also has the ability to take photos/video, functions as a multimedia player, a projector, and even supports holographic imaging and 3D scanning (Its a concept remember). Once again, I’m slacking on posting. Fortunately, it’s not because I and the kiddo are sick, indeed we’ve been in great spirits and have been out enjoying the beautiful Minneapolis weather. Also, Mindy has been off for a bunch of days recently so we’ve enjoyed the almost mini vacation exploring our city. It’s been sweet.

Any candidate that is the media's darling ought to start looking over his shoulder.Mike Huckabee has joined the ranks of such early campaign 'Media Next Big Things' as John Dean and John McCain. Both fascinated the media in early campaigning. They fascinated the voters to a lesser extent.Candidates should beware when journalists trot out that Pre-Primary Label of Doom--"groundswell". As in what reporters think they'd hear, if they had put their ears to the grounds anywhere other than the in press tent. Also, unlike Iraqi War strategy, this is one "surge" they can get behind.Huckabee is the latest groundsweller. The word usually signifies the support a candidate suddenly receives from press regulars tired of writing about nothing. At least the NY Times' ADAM NAGOURNEY had the good sense to dampen some of the recent enthusiasm showered on the former Arkansas governor in the press.Nagourney started out upbeat.“We’ve been waiting a long time for this to happen,” Mr. Huckabee, a fo
So I mentioned that we’ve been house hunting and did put an offer in on one house. El Boyfriend and I have been rather annoyed that the sellers have been very slow in getting back to us when needed, but this lack of interest on their part might have turned out to be a blessing. While we waited to hear whether or not they accepted our counter offer on their counter offer, we continued to browse listings and decided to go see another house or two - one of which I have (very quietly!) fallen in love with. It is, like most houses for sale in our price range in this area, not ideal - 20 years old and not very many updates since it was built, but I don’t mind something that needs fixing up. I’ve been told I might change my tune about that once I actually get in and start working, we’ll see; I tend to stay very focused on the results while letting El Boyfriend fuss over details.
I know this is the right house because of how excited I am at the prospect of going to
I usually check on my investments once every day. I don’t make any irrational selling decisions based on what I see; I’m just curious. Today was different. Today, I checked my positions and the Dow nearly every hour because I was laughing about how capriciously the market has been moving lately. It is almost as [...]
For those that haven’t yet seen it, The Melancholy Of Haruhi Suzumiya is a really great show about a girl named Haruhi who seems to unknowingly have the power of God. She can do absolutely anything, however; her normal human common sense keeps her from actually doing things that, to a normal human, would be impossible. This is the only thing stopping the world from plunging into utter chaos. You see Haruhi is the type of person that is easily bored by everyday things. On her first day at her new school she introduces herself saying that she doesn’t want to talk to anyone that isn’t an alien, time traveller or esper. Because of her desire to see these strange things she has actually created these things in the guise of regular humans and forms them into a school club she refers to as the SOS Brigade. She, however; has no knowledge of what they are and they try hard to keep it that way, but the problem is that if Haruhi becomes bored the world will be consumed by darkn
Fame is a fickle food
Upon a shifting plate
Whose table once a
Guest but not
The second time is set.
Whose crumbs the crows inspect
And with ironic caw
Flap past it to the Farmer’s Corn –
Men eat of it and die.

Or as Linkin Park would put it:
I know I’ll never trust a single thing you say
You knew your lies would divide us but you lied anyway
And all the lies have got you floating up above us all
But what goes up has got to fall
Fame and fortune comes with a price. Those in power, those with influence, and those with connections must know this - the higher you go, the harder you fall - be it a popular blogger or a member of the gahmen.
Like what’s reported by eastcoastlife - my new daily essential read.
It’s scary to think some people have been given this responsibility, but have not lifted a finger to help those who need it.
Do follow the developments here.
Life has a funny way of creeping up on you. Sometimes it chucks you at problems you don’t think you can handle (but eventually you do), and other times it shoves you into the path of someone interesting. Now, I do live a happy life; still though I’d like to do the more serious stuff. I’d like to think I have a firm handle on my future. In three years, I’d like to own my own home, be married with a baby on the way, and have my first novel prepped for publication.
And yet Fate, Life’s hormonal cousin, might have something else in store for me !
For all I know, I could be making a living selling retarded hamsters to lonely widowers on moesmagichamsters.com. You never know !
One of my products on http://www.moesmagichamsters.com “I knew that the entrepreneur course wasn’t a waste”
Anyway, the thing about life is you just have to sit down, buckle up and enjoy the ride. Luckily, there’s no height restriction (though some gir
It seems that the impatient are to get their wish with some transfer activity being reported. The Independent says that Florent Malouda will cost in the region of £10m, hijacking his expected move to Liverpool. The paper seem to believe talks will be under way tomorrow but whether that is with Lyon or the player, it is unclear. In terms of the player, he fits the bill of what was seemingly required, left-winger, international and CL experience and not too expensive. His record last season was ten goals in twenty seven League starts which is something that was missing from midfield.
If he does sign, I would be surprised if there is any more transfer activity other than outgoings (or the ‘unexpected’ departure requiring a replacement to be signed). Goalkeeping is settled with Lehmann facing a challenge from Almunia and Fabianski. Defence seems to be covered with Hoyte and Eboue at RB, Toure, Gallas, Djourou and Senderos at CB, Clichy and Traore at LB. Central Midfield then
Violet Blue (who, like me, came down with a bad cold this week - get better!) managed to point to a very insightful article by Scientific American, recapping the New York Times observation of female sexual orientation, or lack there of:"Presumably the masculinization of the brain shapes some neural circuit that makes women desirable. If so, this circuitry is wired differently in gay men. In experiments in which subjects are shown photographs of desirable men or women, straight men are aroused by women, gay men by men.Such experiments do not show the same clear divide with women. Whether women describe themselves as straight or lesbian, "Their sexual arousal seems to be relatively indiscriminate - they get aroused by both male and female images," Dr. Bailey said. "I'm not even sure females have a sexual orientation. But they have sexual preferences. Women are very picky, and most choose to have sex with men." Though the thought may lend a great deal of potential for scientific observat
The Bargain Queen has been running a fabulous series focusing on the fact that fashion icons and trendmakers actually don't follow trends. She uses examples of classic style icons Audrey Hepburn, Diana Vreeland, Jackie Kennedy, and others to point out that the well-dressed actually wear what suits them and many have developed a uniform of sorts. She's right, of course. I started to feel like maybe I should be more consistent, more slimmed-down (in the closet), more refined. But then I realized: I get bored. I love being boho one day, fifties housewife the next. I love layering and wearing bright colors and dressing in all black and throwing on little dresses. I love the adventure of rarely wearing the exact same outfit twice.I'll be the first to admit that I do have certain patterns, though. I usually have a very similar silhouette: fitted on top, full on the bottom (great for disguising hips). My skirts all end very close to the knee; rarely are they longer or shorter. I wear lots
Football fans are generally a fickle bunch. Every club has many supporters who will boo a player at a merest hint of a misplaced pass and then cheer them from the rafters when they score the winning goal for their club. Chelsea’s fanbase is no different and, while it would be wrong to tar them [...]
Monaco isn’t often an event that provides a vast amount of excitement
as far as the racing goes. The streets of Monte Carlo might be awash
with glamour and glitz but for the most part the F1 cars end up trailing
around nose-to-tail in a less than spectacular procession. Sure, there’s
bound to be someone who stuffs it in [...]
