I'll admit it.I usually watch the last few weeks of each season of "American Idol." I like when the pretenders are off, and it gets down to the final three or four contestants.I especially like it when the contestants get to go back to their home towns. But I can't believe what I saw this year. Maybe it's happened before — and I'm just noticing it now. There were fans, mostly young, screaming and
According to Rafe Needleman of Webware, StreetView will be available inside of Google Earth “within a few weeks”. Rafe quotes an unnamed source with that info. He states that it’s not clear if this will be a public release or an internal testing release.
If done smoothly, this could be very slick. It’ll [...]
Where was I.....Oh yeah, the old place. They weren't happy because I didn't return my keys. My fault. I completely forgot to leave them behind when I shut the door, but there are only three separate locks and yet they claim they gave me five keys. I know there weren't any copies because I had to cut my own when I moved in. Five! Next is the awning pole. The place had those old pull down external awnings on some of the windows. I wanted to use them, but the awning pole needed to reach up and pull them down wasn't there. There was a wooden broom pole with a threaded end and I just thought that was it until I went to use it. I pointed that out two years ago, but now they reckon I've taken it and want me to replace it. What on earth would I want with an awning pole???? Fly
OK, it's been a very crazy past few weeks. I guess the biggest thing for all of us is that we have moved into Legoland. It still feels a bit like a holiday to me and I can't help but think that I have to duck down to reception to pay the bill before I leave! It's kinda weird to think that I can just go and have a swim whenever I want or practice my tennis serve before I start tea. It's also weird to drive North(ish) out of Kingston with my shopping, I keep heading in the wrong direction. As for some of the comments I made in my last post? "Tennis": I'm still playing in the club competition and taking lessons as well. I'm improving all the time. Nick has me concentrating on getting the racket back early and pointing the butt of the racket in the direction I
Q: Our high school senior has applied to 10 colleges. We’ve submitted our FAFSA and PROFILE forms already. When do we find out how much money the schools will offer us in financial aid?
A: With few exceptions, you should hear from every college regarding your student’s admission status – acceptance or denial – by the [...]
Darn close to 7 hours of studies - time for a mental break. Val bought an incredible 7.5 foot tree. It glows in our living room like the sparkle in my grandson’s eyes. Seriously… I’ve become quite the romantic this year. Kind of odd but I’m enjoying being sentimental.
As she puts yet another dozen ornaments on the tree, Val turns and tell me someone must say, “You know, I think this is the prettiest tree yet. ” It’s a tradition, a Heinold tradition from my Dad. Each year is better than the last. Sure enough, Ruth came into the room a few minutes later. Looked at the tree, told Val it was just lovely. Then, “You know, this is the prettiest tree I’ve ever seen.”
I looked over at Val who smiled. We both said, “Yes, this year it is the best.”
The funniest and best part of our holiday decor is the 3 foot high giant plastic lighted Santa Claus. It’s not 3-D, it’s a wall ornament. It’s tacky… won
By one day at a time………..
IT HAS BEEN A FEW WEEKS SINCE I HAVE BEEN HERE AT SOBERLIFE AND I AM GOING TO COMMIT MYSELF TO A COUPLE OF SIGN INS A WEEK.
SO FAR SO GOOD IN MY NEW SOBERLIFE. AS WELL AS CAN BE EXPECTED ANYWAY. I AM DOING 90 MEETINGS IN 90 DAYS. IT IS HARD TO DO WITH MY SCHEDULE BUT THIS TIME I REALLY WANT TO STAY SOBER AND I REALIZE NOW IF I WANT IT I HAVE TO PUT 100% OF MYSELF INTO THIS. SOMETIMES I WONDER IF IT IS ALL WORTH IT. I HAVE SPENT SO MANY YEARS GETTING HIGH IT FEELS SO DIFFERENT BEING SOBER. SOMETIMES I HATE IT . I FIND MYSELF SO BORED AND LONELY. BUT I REFUSE TO GIVE IN. THE NICE PART OF SOBRIETY IS I AM NEVER BROKE ANYMORE ,I SEEM TO HAVE ENOUGH FOR JUST ABOUT ANYTHING .I AM ABLE TO ACTUALLY PUT MONEY IN THE BANK AND KEEP IT THERE.

Cameron Diaz, 35, and Bradley Cooper, 32, have been quietly dating for a few weeks , US reports.During the Saturday Night Live afterparty at Primehouse on September 29, “they were so cute,” an eyewitness spill.Diaz didn’t leave the affair until 4:15 a.m., she and Cooper were spotted the next afternoon strolling through Central Park and, by evening’s end, sitting in a luxury box at the New York Giants game.
Techcrunch announces that the GPhone from Google will be launching in a couple of weeks.
GPhone would include 3G, Wifi and GPS.
Here’s a mock up concept of what the phone could look like. I’m sure there will be a lot borrowed from the Apple iPhone as the boss of Google are on the Apple Board of Directors.

Diversity's Ends - The last few weeks have not quite been art imitating life, but more like life imitating research. It was bad enough that Harvard researcher-cum-policy advocate Robert Putnam's recent study on diversity seemed to suggest that less was better. A Boston Globe article referenced Dr. Putnam's investigation thusly. [A] massive new study, based on detailed interviews of nearly 30,000 people across America, has concluded just the opposite. Harvard political scientist Robert Putnam -- famous for "Bowling Alone," his 2000 book on declining civic engagement -- has found that the greater the diversity in a community, the fewer people vote and the less they volunteer, the less they give to charity and work on community projects. In the most diverse communities, neighbors trust one another about half as much as they do in the most homogenous settings. The study, the largest ever on civic engagement in America, found that virtually all measures of civic health are lower in more
After K2's BlackPearl demonstration a few weeks ago, I had a few questions. I contacted Josh Swihart at K2 and he and Anthony Petro, the Technical Product Manager, replied to me:Question: I know the BlackPearl Report Builder uses Reporting Services – can these reports be exported and even hosted on a distinct Reporting Services server or hosted in SharePoint’s integrated Report Centre? The reason I ask is that a lot of Microsoft products - MOSS, Dynamics CRM - all use Reporting Services, so from a server topology perspective it would be great to have them all publish to the same RS server and manage things a little more centrally. Josh and Anthony: Yes, when you install BlackPearl you must provide information on which Reporting Services server you want to connect to. The Report Designer will use this server when you “publish” a report to RS. Once the report is in RS, you can use standard UI in RS, or compatible apps like SharePoint RS web parts, to view these reports.Question:
It was a few weeks ago; we were flying through a thousand miles of really rough air. A new airliner checked in with center and was duly greeted."Good afternoon United, moderate chop from 23,000' and higher""Is it rough at 41,000?" said the United flight"Only if 41,000 is above 23,000. Let me get my calculator and I'll check"
