In a strange move in the corporate world, but the right move for your consumers, Harmonix is acknowledging a flaw in the first wave of guitar controllers packaged with Rock Band and are offering replacements.
Evidently the strum bar (the “string” area) of some of the controllers was breaking rendering the guitar controller useless.
Harmonix has issued a statement saying that those who have a broken controller can contact them through their website (http://support.ea.com/rockband) for an immediate replacement.
It took weeks for Microsoft to address the X-Box 360 red ring of death issue. It sad that that is almost the norm now for most companies. Kudos to Harmonix for stepping up to the plate and dealing with the issue immediately.

Caesars claims to have lost $487,000 on the machine during that time and they’re pushing prosecutors to consider criminal charges against the casino gamblers who won big on that particular slot machine. This is a result of a continued investigation into the death a 22-year-old Chinese man whose cell phone exploded and killed him. (Reports are now surfacing that a young Vietnamese woman suffered minor injuries when her cell phone battery also exploded. )Chinese government regulators in the southern province of Guangdong said the batteries could explode under certain conditions. Nokia and Motorola have stated they are cooperating with the investigation, but have claimed that the exploding batteries are counterfeit. The Chinese are unsure if any of the counterfeit batteries were exported.The Chinese have been facing recent problems with products the export. Last June, the FDA started blocking imports of some Chinese seafood because of contaminants.

Just wanted to put a quick note in here about those two bad bottles of wine from the tasting group. I took them (each a little over half full after 8 pours) back to Draeger’s. I told the very nice man in the wine section the situation, he smelled the bottles, and then he scribbled a little note on the receipts. I got my money back, when I assumed I’d just get replacement bottles. Which I honestly didn’t want because A) I’d already bought a split of the Guigal and B) I’d had my share of white Rhones for a little while anyway.
That was my first time taking wine back and quite painless.
Of course, I just turned around and bought more wine for Wine Blogging Wednesday.
