Jacob Thiele, the mind behind the synthesizers of The Faint was kind enough to take the time to answer a few questions for MIA. Formed in Omaha, Nebraska, The Faint create a collective blend of new wave, dance and punk melodic sensations. The quintet was once named Norman Bailer and originally involved Bright Eyes’ Conor [...]

So, last night I tried out a new recipe… well 2 actually.
Buffalo Chicken Soup & Red Lobster’s Cheddar Bay Biscuits.
They were both very tasty, but I have been banned from ever making the soup again. LMAO… Let’s just say, it burns you twice. I’m good to go on the biscuits any time though.

Maybe I'm being premature but I now cannot see us winning the league title this year, it's obviously still theoretically possible but there appears a rather wide gulf between what is possible in theory and in practice. Today's two nil defeat to Aston Villa demonstrated just how we are not quite all there from the title challenging point of view in several ways, both tactically and as a team.

So the new Pwnage 2.0 tool has been released to much fanfare, but aimed mainly at the non-n00b crowd, and strictly for the Mac at the moment. So what’s a Windows user to do? We could wait. We’re used to that. Or you could do like user Srini has done and [...]
This little piece of dramatic art from Canadian filmmaker Mathieu Ratthe is heart-wrenching. It's also wise. I won't tell you what teaching(s) (of Jesus, and many others) I think it illustrates, because, well, that would be telling. But please be warned: don't hit "play" if you find disturbing images and situations hard to take. Seriously.
This is completely out there and the last time I checked this blog wasn't really about spiders--not so much--but our household was engrossed for more than a few minutes looking at these bad boys: camel spiders. They're not really spiders (as if that matters at all) but can run 10 miles per hour and pretty much aren't scared of anything. Check out how this guy's body squirms like he's into yoga or
According to Amy Winehouse’s dad the soul singer was hospitalized yesterday afternoon after fainting inside her London home. Apparently the singer was signing authographs for some Canadian fans just before the incident happened and collapsed after they left!!!!… lol…

San MartÃn de San Juan might be in the automatic relegation zone with just three matches left of the Primera A season, but another high-altitude club with the same name will be in the top flight in Argentina next season, after San MartÃn de Tucumán drew 2-2 with Chacarita Juniors to confirm promotion. My husband had a day off during the week last week so we decided to try out the HSBC Treetop Walk without the children. To have a walk amongst the treetops sounds like an interesting prospect for me, so I was keen to dismiss the oppressive temperatures and humidity of the last few weeks to try something new.We told our taxi to take us to the Singapore Island Country Club and jumped out at the firs

Man, the Faint gotta be pissed. What, with all the Cut Copys and Presets out there, jacking their sound. The Faint were ripping off Depeche Mode first, goddamn it! Now they’re back, with a new-wave juggernaut they like to call Fasciinatiion, their first since 2004’s Wet From Birth. It comes out on their own label, called
A performance that rather summed up our season, some fantastic football at times interrupted by some rather embarrassing lapses in concentration at the back. Derby tried hard, but effort without quality to back it up is rather useless and it always appeared that we had several further gears which could always be used if necessary.
Bendtner opened the scoring following a bit of Derby pressure, a
The path to career success is not an easy road to travel. The way is littered with doubts and fears and hard knocks. It is often lonely; it requires courage and true grit in large doses day in and day. Wise men and leaders through the ages have addressed the subject. "It is a hard rule of life...that no great plan is ever carried out without meeting and overcoming endless obstacles that come up to try the skill of man's hand, the quality of his courage and the endurance of his faith," says Donald Douglas. The trip that ends in success is definitely not for the faint of heart. What Is Courage? Webster's Dictionary defines courage as the "mental or moral strength to venture, persevere and withstand danger, fear or difficulty". It shows up in many different forms, not just with soldiers in b

The chief criteria for judging an ecommerce shopping cart are the number of credit card processors and shipping services it supports, and the number of people that support *it*.Why? Because credit card processors and shipping services mutate all the time. Your cart will require updating. Which service works today may go out of business tomorrow, and leave you with the orders piling up.Other important criteria are how easy it is to set up, and add products, and how easy it is for the customer to use. When you set up your shop test it using a wide variety of the oldest and buggiest browsers you can find. If your web store works under them you're home and dry. Here are the cheapest, simplest, and most effective carts I've found:1. Oscommerce (free) - http://www.oscommerce.comA very good, full-featured, cart. Uses Php and MySQL. Not easy to set up for a 'newbie'. Cookies are used to track the order. If you have PhpMyAdmin installed in your web account, it's easier. Requires a customer t
Nor for those who do not get enough calcium in their diet. We went ice skating for the first time this evening because at 0 degrees Celsius, it was a nice balmy night. The boys had a blast. All three of the bigger boys picked up right where they left off. Our four year old, who wouldn't even stand up on the ice last year, wouldn't sit down! He just kept poking along with his trainer (metal thing that he leans on, not a personal ice skating teacher) and popping back up each time he fell. The Pastor was going at a nice clip too. After getting used to being on the ice again he whipped out the hockey sticks and puck that we had brought along. Falling while ice skating usually happens so fast that you can barely recount just what happened or what preceded it. He was going after the puck and was then suddenly horizontal. This coincided with a hefty thud. I was sure he broke his arm. Nope. Still intact.Calcium. It does a body good.Still, I think he's going to be sore tomorrow.
While Adam waits for his bus to school, I sometimes whip out my iPhone and we watch something quick on YouTube (I know I know, can't this kid spend one minute without stimulation?). Since most YouTube videos are crap, I decided to subscribe to the National Geographic Video Shorts podcast, figuring that it would be more educational. The first time I suggested watching one of these, Adam rolled his eyes and said it would be too boring (so cynical at such a young age). I scanned down the list to find a title that was more sensational and chose Blood Initiation. What I failed to do was read the description, "Young men of the Matausa tribe undergo a painful bloodletting ritual as a passage to manhood, shoving sticks down their throats and noses, and piercing their tongues." After about 30 seconds when it was clear that this wasn't something that my kids should watch, I stopped the video.I scanned down the list again and tried Lizardman. (Note, clicking on this link will bring you t
I complain about the media from time to time. Mostly, I complain about the cheerleading played by CNBC and the Fox Business block, but I am shifting my sites to politics today. I really don’t like to play politics on this blog. I care more about money and monetary policy (which, I suppose, is one [...]

People show their reluctance placing any asset as of security on the availing financial assistance. They have to go for other options of unsecured loans. In which borrowers need not place any asset and with the effect, they may have to bear up heavy interest rates incurred upon by the lenders. Apart from this, it becomes rather difficult to avail loan benefits for individuals having bad credit history. To this effect, Poor Credit Unsecured Loans have been designed out for non-homeowners living in tenancy and going through bad financial phase.Bad credit is a grave concern to tenants because they may have found defaults in payments, arrears, may have given CCJs or IVAs, or have filed bankruptcies. Still the opportunities have been provided by the lending authority under poor credit unsecured loans. There are many lenders available in the money market for poor credit unsecured loans. In prospect of making best of it, many high street building too has started offering poor credit unsecured

Like what I said in my previous post, Monday was a good day. It's that period of Sunday afternoon, Sunday night and early Monday morning that seems to be the hardest for me. Maybe it's the anticipation of another week, when I already felt behind in my previous week that makes me really stressed out around that time.Yesterday afternoon as I was getting ready to go home and I was locking up the gate to our office, I looked up the sky and saw a faint rainbow. As I stared upon it, I was reminded of God's promises to us. Sometimes, it the midst of trouble and stressful life, we lose sight of this rainbow. But the truth is, it's there. Sometimes it's so faint we can't see it. But it's there.Yesterday at dawn, after I posted my "mental health day" post, I actually went back to sleep. I was able to get another 2 hours of sleep before I got up 6:30 am to get ready for work. That additional 2 hours of sleep did wonders. My body needed that. My roller coaster week were like th

I've been assidiously avoiding the intraweb most of the day in an effort to get some more of my novel written. Unfortunately, that idea went down like a lead balloon. So I decided to waste some time moving some old pictures from my old photo blog to my Flickr, which I'm ashamed to admit I hadn't done yet.Oh, well, back to staring at a blank Word screen again.technorati tags: flickr
Today's ESPN SportsNation poll consists of the WWL giving its readers/viewers of their football telecasts several different graphics packages and asking which one they prefer?
For example: This one is for choosing a scoreboard.
They also give you two more choices, then ask you to vote on the one you like the best. You can then continue on and vote for other graphics including down and
