That’s why the computer company long known as Big Blue has come out with a new robotic baggage handling system that, it says, will cut down on the amount of lost baggage being transferred between connecting flights, as well as improve connection times and cut down on operating costs.
Of course, an added benefit that IBM doesn’t mention is, robots don’t go through your underwear and steal your digital camera. At least, not yet.

Climate change is something that has drawn various concerns all over the world and with this new discovery based on studies, it is apparent that people will understand that even human existence may soon be imperiled along with plant and animal life.
Just think of it. How can anyone live on a planet that provides intolerable climates? Even if people would be able to adjust at times, there will come a point where they have to adjust accordingly and precisely but this cannot be a standard practice.
We all know the little contributions we can make to avoid this tragedy from occurring. However, the problem lies in the fact that the effort requires a little bit more. This only goes to show that the world still has a lot of ground to cover and combat the climate change syndrome that is evident today.

Non mi dilungherò molto su questa pellicola, non ha senso per un film che non passerà certo alla storia… Resident Evil (il primo, mitico Survival Horror per console) lo conosciamo tutti: ebbene, questo è il terzo film dedicato al gioco di casa Capcom. Vidi il primo una vita fa, saltai il secondo e… Ieri sera ci siamo fatti un paio di salti sulle poltrone col terzo!
Il film non delude, è ben fatto e sicuramente apprezzerete la cura con la quale è stata proposta la fascinosa e desolata ambientazione desertica (bella Las Vegas insabbiata). Milla Jovovich è grintosa, i non-morti sono affamati, il mondo è stato devastato dal T-virus ed il professor Isaacs è pazzo furioso: tutti gli ingredienti per una bella serata divertente ci sono… Non aspettatevi un Oscar però!

The spoon-billed bird is to be put on the endangered list as the numbers are dwindling for this most exotic and beautiful bird.
Cause of the low numbers for the Sandpiper Bird are the decline in feeding sites in their migration route from Russia to Asia, which they trek for the winter. Christoph Zöckler, international coordinator of the Spoon-billed Sandpiper Action Plan states, “they are just running out of places to stop and feed on migration.” Also the bird eggs are being preyed upon by foxes, dogs and other wildlife.
Birdlife, a bird conservation group, is taking the lead, and raising awareness of the possible extinction, and are urging for the care of the precious spoon-billed Sandpiper.

As far as zombie movies go, this is pretty good. Yes, it has that comic book, video game, action-adventure aura around it, which never really allows you to take any of it seriously. You know this isn't Shakespeare, or heck it isn't even "28 Weeks Laters" but it's a fun, mind-numbing ride that you can take for about an hour and a half.

In order to procreate, birds usually rely on their laid eggs for offspring. But for this Chinese bird known as the Tern, people are waiting more for their prized eggs as delicacies to feed on, hence becoming a hindrance to allow them to expand their lineage.
Such has been notable towards depriving animals to spread and prosper. While rare delicacies special to some natives have become ideal, it may be a delicacy in peril as well if everything continues towards satisfying the stomach of a person rather than allowing this feathered friends a chance to expand their roots.
“Without urgent action conservationists have given the bird less than five years before disappearing completely from its two remaining breeding areas,” the statement said.
It quoted head of the Chinese survey team Chen Shuihua as saying the bird was “on the verge of extinction.”

Sorry that I could not update the blog sooner. All of my energy was on 1 Cool File.
Also, I should note that they were not many English movies that I wanted to see. Plus, they are mostly shown in an older theater in downtown(cheaper tickets) that was not upgraded, I heard, in many years. A part of the weekend, it’s only open after 6pm thus limiting me when I can see them. Btw, It’s been at least 20 years that I went there and won’t any time soon. I don’t like a big head in front of me. It’s an old style theater where the seats are not in angle. When you have tasted the new theater, it’s harder to downgrade by that much. I decided to go by bus(been 12 years) so not to mess with the paid parking there. I waited for THE movie that will force me to go there an found it.
I liked Resident Evil: Extinction because it’s an action pack movie and besides, who don’t like zombies being killed again anyway :) I also liked the story and how Alice

The third and final installment of the Resident Evil movies, Resident Evil: Extinction, opens this Friday (September 21). And this movie, based on the video game of the same name, features singer, Ashanti, starring as Nurse Betty. The Caramel bella joins a big cast of actors, including Milla Jovovich as the main character, Alice, and Mike Epps who plays L.J.
Although I don’t want to give the movie away, let’s just say that if you enjoy horror movies about zombies and life after an apocalypse, you will enjoy this one.
Congratulations to Ashanti for landing this role. We look forward to seeing her acting talents in future movies.

The World Conservation Union (IUCN) has identified more than 16,000 species threatened with extinction in the 2007 Red List of threatened species.
Included in this list are gorillas, orangutans as well as plants and coral which are sliding closer to extinction.
Critically endangered is deemed as an extreme high risk of extinction or possibly extinct.
Some of the animals to make this new list include the western lowland gorilla which has moved from the Endangered to the Critically Endangered category.
Numbers have declined by more than 60% over the last 20-25 years.
Listed as some of the reason for this include forest clearance which has allowed hunters access to previously inaccessible areas. Ebola virus has followed, wiping out one-third of the total gorilla population in protected areas, and up to 95% in some regions.

El trailer de la secuela de las películas creadas del concepto del famoso juego de video. Presentado por la guapísima Ali Larter, que muchos conocerán de la serie de televisión Heroes, una de mis favoritas.
Al parecer la trama de la película es la travesía de los sobrevivientes de la catástrofe de Racoon City por el desierto de Nevada, hacia Alaska. Y peleando contra todo tipo de zombies y criaturas extrañas producto del T-Virus que creó la franquicia.
En este caso, el trailer son 3 minutos de peleas con lo que parecen cuervos mutantes, zombies y asesinos jeje.
Se estrena el 21 de setiembre de este año, a ver que tal, con tal de ver a Milla Jovovich juju

No es para nada una “peliculota”, pero para alguien que es medio fanático de los “zombie flicks” (de paso… vi 28 weeks later hace un par de días y me pareció bastante buena), y encima, ha disfrutado de *casi* cada entrega de Resident Evil, pues ya se imaginarán que el estreno de la tercera película basada en el popular videojuego, pues, tenía que aparecer en algún lado del blog (y sí, no se preocupen, esta última tendencia de andar cubriendo tanto videojuegos disminuye desde hoy). Y por supuesto, si la película apesta, al menos podré disfrutar unos minutos de Mila Jovovich en pantalla…

At last……the decision has been made!! My fellow DY designer in Sony Corp Japan, Murata-san, has been transferred to LCD TV panel engineering department. It’s a huge blow for him…because his whole life has been dedicated to the development of CRT TV. I watched it, it looks like crap. I’m sure it will be fun to see on the big screen but I’m not sure how Rotten Tomatoes is going to like it. Not that anyone really gives a shit anyway! Chuck and Larry proved that you can make a rotten pile of ass into a movie and still come out with a bankroll.

I’m torn on the Resident Evil series. I like the games fine. I even like the first movie in a campy, silly sort of way. I can even forgive the fact that it has Michelle Rodriguez in it, playing that clenched grimacy character that she always plays. But Resident Evil: Apocalypse just blew.. there was nothing redeeming about it. But this red band (R-Rated) trailer that Sony has posted for the upcoming Resident Evil Extinction actually looks kind of cool. I don’t think it could possibly be further removed from the games at this point, but it looks like it might be cool for some zombie action.

First there was Resident Evil, followed up by it’s sequel, Resident Evil: Apocalypse and now we have Resident Evil: Extinction, the third movie in the franchise by Paul W.S. Anderson, the same guy who did the first Mortal Kombat and movies like Event Horizon and Alien VS Predator. His upcoming films include: Spy Hunter, Death Race and Castlevania, which he may or may not still be attached too.

A lot of the attention has been on the erring weather and the changing climates. What people tend to forget is that climate change is brought about by deforestation which in turn deprives animals from their usual homes.
People are killing some animals for their satisfactory desires. As if it were not enough, we are now taking away their homes for our own selfless needs. The outcome is evident. We just have to think beyond the box and soon, we too may find ourselves having homes, but dying as well if we do not study the whole chain that binds the world together.

We all love to see living animals around, especially the rare ones like giraffes and bears. However we forget that most of the furnishings and clothings we have come from them. Ever wonder why the price is pegged high? Because they are rare to find these days and hard to hunt. The have become rare in the sense that their breeds are slowly decreasing in numbers. All thanks to our bratty needs and wants.
We also disregard the polluted waters which have been plaguing our seas today. Dumping waste and garbage is not helping. We can see that when we seek the resources that we need such as food. We are the victims of our own negligence.
