The pot to the left is the Eco-Cook, a concept for a new cook-pot insert by French designer Camille Kechenyi. It is not yet in production, but we guess one or other of the world's cook-pot manufacturers will adopt (or steal) the idea pretty soon. By cooking more than one food in the same water you will not only save time, but energy, too. As a comparison, we offer the triple-partitioned pot on the right, that we ourselves found in use at a street restaurant in Thailand recently. The Thai pot has permanent partitions, which of course allows simultaneous cooking of foods whose flavors are not supposed to be mixed.

What would you do with a young man, about to turn 14, who FORGOT to do the dinner dishes? Yes, Joshua, my oldest son, was so engrossed in his Carcassonne game with his father that he forgot to wash the dishes. He didn’t even appear to give the job a second thought. I came home from a baby shower and was sure to remind him of his responsibilities. I mean, isn’t this why we have children, so they will wash the dishes and do the laundry? Maybe he converted a few.” Read more about Rocco’s take on the finale here. My favorite quote of the article? “It tasted like Indian sewer water.” Um. Ew. What dish was he talking about? Jessica Simpson Dishes on the Missionary Position
Jessica Simpson wants to talk about her missionary position. But don't believe that Nick Lachey's ex is ready for any kind of a tell all. According to the New York Daily News it is more of a confession of a real mission and a wannabe adoption. "My father was a minister, so growing up, we'd go on a missionary trip every summer," Jessica Simpson tells Self magazine about her work with the Casa Hogar Elim orphanage in Mexico."The first time I went to that orphanage, I was 16. I remember holding this baby who was found in a dumpster. I wanted to adopt him right then and there. I was like, 'Dad, can I have him for my birthday, please?'"Obviously that didn't happen, but perhaps she was the inspiration for the over the top adoption ratio by celebrities now. Jess was a wannbe Angelina before being Angelina was cool.

How Internet A-D-D happens (or “Why the dishes aren’t done and we’re wearing old undies")
© Mrs. Flinger 2007 I’ve recently got a question about moving wordpress blogs from one place to another. I found this plugin that will help you accomplish this task. From this site, I then found a bunch of great information and decided to bookmark it. I also noticed this widget that allows a display of up to 8 recent referrals and instantly had to install it. (Looksy over there --- > ) I then found this blog from a gal who’s nerdy, brilliant, AND lives in College Station, the town I grew up being taught to worship the Aggies and all thing A&M. I noticed her twitter posts and remembered I haven’t posted to twitter in a while so I logged in to think of something fun and witty to say. I realized I slept an hour and a half last night and witty and sleep deprivation aren’t a great match. I got an email. I clicked to open it. All hell breaks loose in baby-ville and that, my friends, is the end of that.  tags: blogging college+station int

Microsoft Dishes Out $50 Million for Exclusive GTA IV Content
Last week, during a conference call between 2K Games top brass, Lainie Goldstein revealed to the world that Microsoft will be paying $50 Million to ensure that the Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV will have exclusive content. To quote Goldstein… The first 25 (million) is for the first episodic content package that’s supposed to go out and that is in March of ‘08. That’s why it moved into current because it’s in the next 12 months. The second 25 will be for the second episodic, the episode, and that will be later in fiscal ‘08… Good deal for Microsoft — not only do they shaft Sony out of exclusive content to one of the biggest games of 2007, but Microsoft can gain a little more financial stability when they charge us an arm and a leg for these damn things. Now, if you have insomnia, read the transcript of the Conference Call. It’s sure to knock you out. Microsoft, Xbox 360, Take-Two Interactive, 2K Games, Rockstar Games,

WFMW (How to get your spouse to do dishes)
It's time to post yet another WFMW tip. This week, I've decided to go for a bit of humor. I need to lighten things up because it's proving to be a really rough week thus far.So, do you want to know how to get your spouse to do the dishes without nagging? I have your answer!Go buy a Bosch dishwasher! :)I kid you not, since we bought this dishwasher a couple of weeks ago, Oronzo has been downright eager to do the dishes! The other night, when we were discussing what to make for dinner, he wanted to go with the option that created the most dirty dishes so he could fill up the dishwasher! How crazy is that? This dishwasher is really neat. It's got lots of bells and wistles, adjustable wracks, attachable extras to keep your silverware from falling off, and to keep small parts in place. It has an internal heating element so if a small part were to fall to the bottom of the dishwasher, it wouldn't melt.Best of all, our dishes have never looked so sparkling clean! We used to have to wash ou

How to Wash Your Dishes During Dim Sum
We're onto the last day of my Hong Kong food trip. So far I've managed to eat about 4-5 meals a day, which is definitely below average I would say. My last day was on a Monday and I would be taking a midnight flight back to Seoul. When I woke up my aunt and I proceeded to Olympian City Mall for dim sum. Let's take a quick look at what was on the menu, shall we?First up we had an order of spring rolls served with a mayonnaise dip. This was an interesting way to present the spring rolls--in a plastic cup!Any big fans of congee out there? Congee in Hong Kong is awesome, and this one was full of random animal innards. You name it, it was in here...I'm not a big fan of the intestines and stuff like that, but my aunt enjoyed it!You can't have dim sum without "hah-gow", or shrimp dumplings! My memory is horrible, but I've been eating this dish since I was a kid. It's chewy, delicious, and it's the lining of a cow's stomach. The Cantonese for this dish is "ow pak yeep"...hey, marinate

      Dirty Dishes
Dirty dishes are like bacteria. They keep growing and accumulating no matter how often you wash them. And on occasion you find them under the bed or behind the dresser and they actually are bacteria. I think it's a phenomena that needs to be studied. I'm convinced that a dish scientist will discover that dishes, clean and dirty, can self reproduce. How else do you explain one cup full of juice on the dresser turning into three cups full of juice lined up on the dresser at the end of the day? I don't remember bringing three cups of juice into my kid's bedroom. He claims he didn't do it either and doesn't know where it came from. That has to be evidence that dishes contain both sexes and have the ability to spawn. My sink is another breeding ground. I'll have a sink full of dishes by the afternoon, but I can only remember using three plates, three glasses, and some forks for the day. But the sink contains eight glasses, a handful of forks, a couple knives, three spoons, bowls, spa
