Though she has now apologized for that very strange and tasteless comment to the Argus-Leader, this was not the first time she’s said it. This from her interview with TIME Managing Editor Richard Stengel, published March 6:

Rod LawBritish National Party district councillors have been slammed as a "disgrace to the council and the community" after condemning a multi-faith forum representing various religions which has been set up in the district.BNP councillor Rod Law told Tuesday's council meeting: "Forums like these are an absolute waste of resources for the council and are only put together to promote diversity and multi-culturalism which we feel is absolutely detrimental to the very fabric of society. I would like to think there are enough councillors here to very much vote against this motion and not let this council be bogged down with politically correct clubs like these as we see in many inner city councils."BNP group leader Pat Richardson said: "The idea is it's a matter of freedom of choice, those who
Top Doc Resigns and Blames Witch Hunt. - Sentinel. Today Dr Southall, who now lives in Wales, said: "I have been a victim of a disgraceful witch-hunt, but the parents of children I have seen during my time in North Staffordshire have been enormously supportive of me and I thank them. "I feel proud to have helped set up the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit at Stoke, and helped turn the department into one of the best in the country. "Once I have been exonerated of all charges I believe I will have no problem finding work, and at that point I may well consider returning to work in North Staffordshire where I have tried my best to help over the years." His resignation letter says: "There will always be some doubt over the quality of the medical care that I can give as long as the GMC's findi
“If St. X were to remain open, we’d need to have more than X new students enroll, and we’d have to raise tuition by $X thousands. That simply wasn’t feasible. And it’s a sad day for Catholic education. Unfortunately, given the circumstances, we were left with no other choice to close the school, but we’ll do everything within our power to ensure the students have a chance to continue with a quality Catholic education elsewhere. We’ll also be working to place the teachers at other Catholic schools.”The quote above this paragraph must be written somewhere on Archdiocese of Newark Spokesman Jim Goodness’ computer in the chancery. The “Xs,” however, are left blank, so that when yet another school closes, he can use the same old tired excuse to justify the closing. It’s a

Manchester United 1 - Manchester City 2ScorersManchester United : Carrick 90+2Manchester City : Vassell 25, Benjani 45Team : Van der Sar, O'Shea (Hargreaves 74), Rio, Vidic, Brown, Scholes, Anderson (Carrick 74), Giggs, Nani (Park 63) , Ronaldo, TevezWhat an utterly disgraceful performance. Just when you thought that last week's game was a one off, United threw up this pile of dung right smack onto everyone's face. To add insult to injury, this was the one day designated as a tribute to the Munich air-crash victims of 58, the one day to remember those who had bravely worn the United jersey and played their hearts out for the club. The only thing that went according to plan was the one minute's silence, which was impeccably kept. Everything else just totally and completely fell apart. We ente
How the HELL does this happen? You know, it just goes to show you how MESSED up this country is. You die in the worst attack on the American mainland since the War of 1812 and where do you end up? In the left lane of the Cross Bronx Expressway.Unfreakinbelievable!
Yet another spineless display of batting and tactical errors in captaincy has virtually shown India the door out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007. So, how would you describe this defeat, obviously disgraceful and… no need to say anything as you too might have uttered the same words as the rest of the ‘Billion’ did!
It was not even a close match. India lost by a whopping 69 runs in a do-or-die match! Such a shocking and shameful defeat has again proved that they are still lacking good batting and bowling line and by chance if ever it comes (as it came in the last match played between India and Bermuda) then it lacks strategy whereby they should pave the way for their victory, and now it seems that India are going to be 2nd major casualty after Pakistan were eliminated from Group D following their loss against debutants Ireland.
Right from the very beginning when India won toss to field first, it became obvious they are taking a defensive stance where as it should ha
I'm starting to believe that libraries are a dangerous place for the average book. We all expect that library books will suffer the same kind of abuse, and for the same reasons, that we associate with rental cars. If it's not that, we've seen enough stories about large numbers of books ending up in dumpsters to know that strange things can happen to books in the place that one would least expect those things to happen. Well, here's one more story that has to be a huge embarrassment to the library system in East St. Louis. For the 7,000 books sitting in a storage unit on State Street, it's abandonment all over again. The books were among at least 10,000 items including magazines and albums left in a shuttered city library for more than three years. Many of the items became makeshift beds or fire starters for homeless people, who broke into the library for shelter. A leaky roof damaged or destroyed many of the books in the building, at 409 North Ninth Street.Library officials admit
In a shocking use of the freedom of speech last Thursday, the New York Times (followed by others) published a government anti-terrorism program that uses financial tracking. The Times published how the program was tracking bank transactions to follow terrorists. The Times was awarded journalism's highest award for the report, the Pulitzer Prize. Administration officials argued that reporting on the financial tracking operation would endanger national security. The article is here: Bank Data Is Sifted by U.S. in Secret to Block Terror, by New York Times reporters Eric Lichtblau and James Risen. Today President Bush called the disclosure a "disgrace".
