This could be one of the greatest films ever made, in my opinion. Ok, sure, the use of "terrorist" robbers and violence abound isn't necessarily cerebral in its appeal, but you must admit that for an actioner, "Die Hard" is superb.The nonchalant humor of John McClane in the face of violent opposition is brilliant. Hans Gruber is a villain you can identify with even as you identify with John McClane. The blonde henchman who comes back at the end, the elevator explosion, the opening of the vault -- all priceless!And the best part: Sgt. Al Powell at the end conquering his reluctancy to draw his pistol, in order to save his new best friend, John McClane. The music at that scene is breathtaking.But hey, I guess when you come right down to it, "Die Hard" is simply an action film. That's right. But it's also simply one of the best.

Apparently, the critics and movie audiences of the world have lowered their standards. Considerably. To think that Live Free or Die Hard is currently rated at an 8.1/10 on IMDb, or that the film regularly scores four out of five stars is all a bit disconcerting. Because, really, there isn't all that much to crow about.I guess, in some respects, I can understand it. After all, this is the fourth in the series, and number fours aren't typically very representative of the overall quality of a franchise. The laundry list of fatal fours is long and undistinguished: Batman & Robin, Lethal Weapon 4, The Phantom Menace. Not a decent film amongst them. So, in comparison, Live Free looks like a masterpiece.For a mindless summer popcorn flick, it's pretty effective - just be sure to remember the "no mind" portion. Both lasted around 130 minutes, which were very worthwhile with impressive actions throughout.An achievement was to catch them on two consecutive Sundays right after beach. I’ve been extremely busy on a gig (and handling family issues), so it’s taken me a while to finally see Die Hard 4.  I’m a die-hard Bruce Willis fan, so you would probably expect my review to be positive.  Aside from the semi-trailer/F-35 scene that was over the top, I really enjoyed the flick.  I also took away numerous tips for improving myself such as how to get additional help on a gig (dial 1-800-HENCHMEN) and how to take out a chopper with a car.  Good stuff to add to a resume

Well, better late than never right? I'm of course referencing my statement made last Thursday that I would let you know how the new Die Hard movie was. Well, it kicked fucking ass. What did you expect? Sure, this time around some of the stunts were pretty fucking unbelievable, but c'mon, in 1985 they made a movie where John McClane jumped off the roof with a fire hose tied around his waist to escape an exploding helicopter. Not to mention sliding down the elevator shaft with only a machine gun strap to hold him up. This time around though, (warning - action scene spoilers ahead!!!) he drove a semi truck through a crumbling overpass to escape an F-16 jet that was flying was too freaking low to the ground for my liking, then jumping on said jet after the pilot had bailed, only to slide down

Tonight I'm going to go see "Live Free or Die Hard" or "Die Hard: 4.0" as it's known in international release. I'm hoping for a kick-ass action flick where Bruce Willis keeps doing what he does best, that is, kicking ass. I don't think I'll be disappointed in that department. I'm not hoping for a coherent plot or competent bad guys, just a bunch of gunfire, explosions and ass kicking. On a side note, I haven't seen a movie in the theaters in about 2 years or so. I think the last movie I went to see was Serenity, and I had to yell at some teenagers then too. I always have to yell at teenagers or someone for not letting me watch the movie in relative quiet. These ones were playing music on their cell phones - during a movie! So I had to threaten them. They got scared and left. Pussies. Hopef

Unlike many other highly hyped productions, Live Free or Die Hard didn’t release a bunch of different posters, It’s been this one from the beginning. There were some variations on the international posters, but they were very minor. I guess they were happy with their first try and didn’t feel there was much else to add. The poster is all about Bruce Willis looking tough, cool and ready to kick some ass. And I guess that is also what this franchise is all about. It’s a good looking poster, and it’s sure to appeal to people (like me) who grew up watching Die Hard and think Bruce is one cool dude. But does it do anything for people who aren’t already pre-sold on the movie? Probably not. (source)

Bruce Willis, the face behind the character John McClane in the Die Hard quadrilogy has answered some questions in a virtual press conference that could possibly bring out a new Die Hard. Willis has said he wants to do a Die Hard prequel, which would be extremely hard due to the 52 year old slowly aging away. Willis was asked by a fan if he would shoot Die Hard 5 in Mexico, when Willis responded that he would be up for a Die Hard 5 but it is an American film and there is a chance he would shoot it in Mexico but would prefer to shoot in the US of A. This is the second time I have received this hopeless registration file from Slysoft. They are quick with responding to email but each time they keep going on about downloading the demo version from their site rather than the clone of CloneDVD called confusingly CloneDVD. To put their mind at rest I re-downloaded their demo from their site. Dunno why though as their registration file had as much chance of updating the registry as a mouse on a cat farm. Have been using Vuze, which is a f
