Sometimes I love to have a little ice cream after my dinner, but I don't want it to be too heavy or to have a lot of added calories. For a long time I was eating Julie's low calorie ice cream sandwiches which I think are the most delicious low calorie ice cream sandwiches I've ever had (the ice cream tastes as rich as regular ice cream). But, after a while, I decided I wanted to try a few other ic

I am having bad luck recently.
I felt in front of my company’s lobby and almost fainted near the roadside. Luckily I was walking with 2 strong mates and they fetched me home. I have take about a month Chinese Herbs and somemore cannot eat the food I like: spicy, cool, savour, coffee, manggo, tea! It’s really a suffering period yet can see the peoples who are really care for you…So, it always a positive and negative side for every incidents ^ ^.
I went to Langkawi on 3~5 Nov 2007. It’s a relaxing trip where I just eat, sleep, and shopping..haha~~~
I bought lots of chocolates and I have to admit that I am a very demanding people, when it comes to Chocolates. When I told one of friends, he keeps reminding: Don take too much..hehe..I think he must be worry that I might have to spend the rest of my lives with my stove! Well, I believe “no pain no gain”
Maybe my glass at Zakes Café wasn't rose-colored, but the warm atmosphere and gracious service certainly made me feel as if it could have been. Sometimes you just want to go to dinner at a little local place and eat what you want and drink what you want (it's BYOB) and be treated well by the staff. This is just such a place.H(usband) and I had the good fortune to go to Zakes with some folks who knew the chef. That's always fun. I love talking to knife-wielding crazy people and I do believe that many chefs are partly (sometimes mostly) crazy. Chef Marlene Zakes is a non-stop bundle of energy. She turned out more dishes that night than I would have thought possible from the small kitchen that I spied from the outside. She wasn't, however, wielding any knives (in the dining room, at least), which was probably a good thing and she didn't appear to be crazy.Marlene owns and runs the place with her brother. I liked that occasionally it was the chef, herself, who served and even took or
I take a break at the natural point between the main course and pudding. Their howls of protest are still deafening from 10 paces away in the kitchen. I can feel my shell like ears curl up into tight little rosebuds, soundproof ones. I crouch in front of the grill to watch the blackberry and apple crumble gently brown and bubble. I am at just the right height to look over and see the devastation under the dining room table. The meatballs are crushed like grapes in a vat. The homemade, organic tomato sauce has been spattered a mighty distance. The Spanish rice is just so much confetti. I do no look forward to clean up and washing that same 10 feet patch of floorboards for the fifth time in one day. This is balanced out by an absence of laundry, as they are all semi clad. The tomato sauce forms interesting henna like tattoos on their bodies. The flecks of Herbs de Provence and finely chopped onions in their hair, may prove more of a challenge. I turn my eyes back to the grill a

My friend A, sent me this slideshow, The 10 Most Expensive Desserts In The World.* I guess my reputation among my friends and family, particularly H(usband), is that I like food much more when it's really expensive. Just because I took him to the (almost) most expensive restaurant on the planet (and it wasn't really very good) doesn't mean I feel that way.I have to admit there WAS a time when I did think the most expensive item on the menu was going to be the best. And forget about going to a Prix Fixe dinner or lunch with me. I ALWAYS ordered the stuff that had the supplement, so a 30 dollar set price meal somehow was never less than 70. Was it MY fault they charged extra for all the good stuff? Anyway, look at these desserts. They're pretty awesome. Are they worth the price? Of course not. Would it be great to have one just to be able to talk about it for the rest of your life? Absolutely. And having a good story to tell IS worth quite a lot...* Click on the link, and then move t

I love dessert after a meal. I don't, however, love the extra calories that come with it. Now, I can have guilt free "dessert" with the fat-free skin care products of Bath Desserts. 100% natural, all of the products are infused with hemp seed oil, a rejuvenating and luxurious plant oil that allows for a non-greasy, deep cellular hydration treatment. The sorbet sugar scrub (pictured below) lightly exfoliated my skin, removing dead cells, and really gave my skin a healthy glow. Available in 12 yummy flavors, I tried the lemon, which has a fabulous fresh, clean and tangy scent. Mild enough for every day use, this scrub instantly softened my skin. Available in 3 different sizes, this is beauty treatment that can be used everyday.Next, I tried the lip-butter (below) in peppermint. My lips are always chapped, and I am addicted to lip balms. This is one of the best I have tried. Loaded with hemp seed butter, mango butter, beeswax, and peppermint oil, this is a true treat for dr
In college I worked as a concert promoter.I worked for a student run organization that brought huge concerts to the campus arena in order to fund lesser known acts at the smaller venues. The student group structure included: 2 senior leaders who booked the bands; 10 managers who handled advertising, hospitality, and other logistics; and a team of 100 student volunteers who provided stage management, ushering and other labor during the events. In 1987, I was one of the 10 managers along with a woman named...I'll call her "Patty" here, though that is not her real name.I was not nice to Patty. I was MEAN to Patty.Because I was the bossy ring-leader type, my friends were also mean to Patty. As I recall, the reason I didn’t like her was that at a managers meeting she made, what seemed to me, a disdainful remark about someone and likened the person to a garbage collector.I remember feeling offended, thinking that she believed she was somehow better than people who collected garbage for a
This dessert, which debuted in March, was inspired by the success of the restaurant’s other gem-studded treat, the Bombay Sapphire Martini. The star of the show is an 80-carat aquamarine gem that rests on a sliver of chocolate shaped to resemble the traditional stilt fisherman that’s part of the resort’s logo. Handmade glass utensils (not included in the price) complete the presentation. And yes, diners can pocket the gemstone after polishing off the dessert. None have yet been sold. For more desserts, it's here!
Hi to everyone who missed me :) and also to those of you who are coming here for the first time!!I just got back from a weekend getaway with my family in Los Angeles, and I absulutely have to share with you my amazing experience at Saffron Spot!!! In April 2001, Mumbai (India) native Smita Salgaonkar started Neemo's Exotic Ice Creams in northern Orange County, naming it so after one of her daughters' nick-names. With the success of Neemo's, she also opened Saffron Spot, a stylish Indian ice cream parlor, that utilizes the valuable spice Indian spice called "Kesar", or Saffron to create tantalizing flavours. Friday night I attended the long awaited and sold out cooking demonstration and book signing by David Lebovitz at Draegers Cooking School in San Mateo. I’ve met plenty of tech bloggers, but David was actually the first food blogger I have met in person. David was extremely personable throughout the evening, joking frequently with the assistants and guests. Until David really got cooking, I had to remind myself I was at a cooking class and not watching a stand-up routine. At one point a guest asked if she could ask an unrelated question, and while she paused to choose the right wording, David quickly volunteered, “Briefs”.
A man of many contradictions
“I don’t really like sugary stuff,” David announced near the beginning of the class. David followed this confession with another shocker: he’s lactose intolerant. Meanwhile, proudly displayed at the edge of the counter were two of David’s cookbooks, The Great Book of chocolate and The Perfect
