We had dinner last night with Yeo Jung and of course, her parents. I had to miss her first birthday party but Curt (hubby) took some incredible pictures. I'm still mulling this one over. I went to see Death Cab last year when they were here and my friend dwillens I think will agree with me on this one - they sucked. They played at the Orpheum (I think, or maybe it was the Opera House) and the space was just too large for them - they didnt' fill the auditorium.This time around, they're playing at the Bank of America Pavillion, which is even larger. Will they sound even worse? Possibly, I don't know. I’ve always wanted to buy a pair of squeaky shoes for my son but the ones I’ve seen in local stores have been way overpriced and looked ‘undercomfy.’

For that price, I wondered if they’d be comfortable but my son has worn them daily since we received them for review from The Opinionated Parent and loves every minute of running around and squeaking for everyone. Last week Hollywood star Angelina Jolie sent two photos and a letter informing the HCM City Department of Justice about the current situation of her Vietnamese adopted child Pax Thien Jolie.
In her letter, the famous mother confirmed that her Vietnamese child is integrating into the new life and developing very well.
The letter was sent from Jolie's house in California. She wrote that Pax Thien's fourth birthday was on November 29, 2007. He went to kindergarten with his younger sister and he had many classmates. His English is improving each passing day. Pax Thien can speak complete sentences and he can tell funny stories. He loves to play outdoor, with motored toys.
"We believe he feels very safe in his home. He laughs, sings, tells stories and is very fund to be around. He has a great sense of humor and is very imaginative," Jolie wrote.

The first instrument you notice upon listening to Something About Airplanes is the cello on "Bend to Squares." It fades out, soon enough replaced by the familiar electric guitar, but it sets this album's offbeat mood. Experimentation and pop hooks strike a perfect balance on this debut from the Bellingham, Washington-based Death Cab for Cutie. The quartet follow in the fine tradition of area emo-pop bands like Modest Mouse, 764-HERO, and Built to Spill, but it's hard not to notice bits of Quasi and the Beatles popping up. Whenever I hear this song, its an exhilarating feeling to tune into to the melodies. The sounds are eccentric, which only make them more appealing to me. By what I can tell, it is a love song of sorts with a somewhat hidden message. When I first heard this song, it captured my attention very quickly and really sunk in to my mind. It stimulates my imagination and makes me feel hope.
