Ok so I decided to pimp out my blog a little and though I'd add Social Bookmarking links so that people could 'Digg' my posts so that others could 'StumbleUpon' them etc (oh, I am so clever!). So I start looking for some widgets to easily add to my blog template and realize there aren't that many out there. And the one that I found let me add the widget to the blog as a whole and not to each post. Now, why would someone want others to bookmark his/her blog for cryin' out loud! .......So then I started looking at XML code available online for inserting these buttons onto my blog and it's insane! Meghan Goss over at the Humane Society of the United States shared with me a horrifying undercover video detailing the outrageously cruel treatment of sick and weak cattle in the Hallmark Meat Packing Plant in Chino, CA. These already sick and dying cattle were forced to stand, so they could be "processed" meaning, slaughtered, by torturing them in myriad ways. According to the video (which I could not bear to watch) and Goss, this included "shocking the cows with electric prods, jabbing them in the eyes, shackling and dragging the cattle, ramming them with blades of a forklift, and spraying high pressure water into the cows' mouth and nose" to simulate drowning. I know I was suppose to have put up the Market Bags portion of the Great White North Contest, however my baby has been quite beside himself. Almost two weeks ago his first tooth popped through, yet he has been miserable for a week now. On Thursday he developed a low grade fever (my kids are not really fever kids so it freaks me out), he has a rash and just is not himself at all. I blogged a while ago about a New PC on the cards for myself (because I’m worth it ), well obviously it would take a long time for me to come up with the money for one, and it would have to be prised from my clenched fist as the time to pay for the computer comes!
So my parents, have decided to be generous and buy it for me for a Birthday/Christmas present - I’ve been going on about a new PC for ages when there was nothing wrong with my old system (1GB RAM, 1TB HDD, P4, 19″ Phillips LCD), but now I’ve an excuse - both my main system and laptop are acting up (Laptop’s problem is running out of HDD space!) So my ranting and raving is no longer falling on deaf ears!
But the CRUEL thing is, it’s being purchased during this week (with some luck), BUT, I’m not even allowed remove the seal on the box until my Birthday (17th November). So I’ve to stare and dream of that E encrusted box as it taunts and jeers me with it’s 2GB RAM, 500GB H
Two death row inmates from the USA don't like that they are going to die. In an effort to avoid being punished for their crimes, they have decided to take the system on. According to them, lethal injections cause unnecessary pain and suffering. But how quickly forgotten and cast aside are the victims in arguments such as these. Never mind the pain and suffering they have inflicted upon others--it's all about them now...

MamaP posted something about these 14 year old girls who were making fun of people with Tourette's Syndrome (Aug 15th post titled Tic'd off) and it made me furious. I went to YouTube to try to find it - but to no avail. I was ready to rag on these girls - and I was hoping that somehow their parents can be told of their cruel acts. Maybe not finding the particular video was a good thing because I was planning on embedding it here to "humiliate" them. But if I do that, then I would be going down to their level, and that I don't want to do. Granting that these girls did not intend to be cruel, that they were just having fun, - they need to be taught that "having fun" at the expense of someone else's humiliation is unkind.Since I did not find that particular video, I decided to make a simple post addressed to us parents to remind us to teach our kids kindness and compassion - especially to those with disabilities. Cruel as Usual -- In These TimesI received a letter today from Michelle Byrm and Lisa Jo Camberlain. Both talk about the conditions in the prison. Michelle cell is over 100 degres and she has asked again and agai for her fan to be fixed. 3 weeks now without it.Lisa Jo writes of how Michelle has been unable to eat fo weeks but no one seems to mind. She was found unconcious in a puddle of blood ribboned voit last week and is still not been delivered to a doctor.This article tells of another deat row in Mississippi whee the prisoners are treted the same way.
