Here it is, the best film of 2007, The Assassination Of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford. It is really probably the best and most fulfilling film of 2007, that, if you have not already seen it, you will be seeing this year, 2008 that is. I used to take self defense classes, a long time ago. To tell you the truth the only reason I took the classes was because I thought the instructor was really really cute. He was cute, but he was also a jerk. I didn’t do it for very long. I wish I had quit sooner than I did. My ex husband was really big into self defense but that was just because he was a big fat coward. well he wasn’t fat, he was a body builder but I think he was so obsessed with self defense and body building because he was a coward. He used to always buy self defense products all of the time and made a big deal of making sure I had pepper spray on my key chain and stuff like that. Now that I think back to it I actually think its really annoying.  let that be a lesson to you men.  Obsessing over self defense can make you look like a little bit of a coward if your dating.

I have heard the title “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” many, many times over the last year. And yet, somehow I didn’t realize who Jesse James was and never bothered to look up what the film was about. Still, I felt this was a strong and memorable title, even tough I kept forgetting exactly what the names were. Since I didn’t know anything about the movie beyond the title, this poster initially surprised me. The title always suggested to me a sense of anger, violence and possibly resentment. And yet the image used in the poster seemed so peaceful, even idyllic. Sure, that other guy, the one who is not Brad Pitt, is scowling. But Pitt himself seems quite calm. All of this conflicted with the image I had formed in my head based on the title. So, we got what we wanted! Per doesn’t have to pay the bill!
