Another 100 Crore has been wasted and another huge and much hyped about project is on the verge of abandonment. The BRT corridor has turned out to be a major flop with traffic congestion increasing and utter chaos ruling on the stretch. The efficiency of the planners in the government is under question again. Was this required?
Why is it that measures to reduce traffic congestion are proving to be in-effective? There are multiple reasons to it.
The first and foremost is that adequate research of the situation in hand is not done and a plan is drawn which when implemented throws everything in tantrums.
Projects are designed and implemented, not for the benefit of the people or, to reduce traffic congestion but to ensure that the ministers and member of parliaments get a smooth ride. the

First let me say how happy I am to utilize a PR newswire report since they moved so many of their workers to Cleveland a few months back! Now the news: 1. Paul Volpe and City Architecture have been given the bid for the Streetscaping for the Euclid Avenue Corridor project. The first leg of this project will start in September of this year. It is, according to plans, to be a walkable neighborhood and will tie in to and be in partnership with the Zaremba Development of the Avenue District. 2. The Avenue District construction is already underway - 78 units at are you ready? Good price points! For 1200 square feet the price is expected to be around $235,000. For the usual $300k and up, you will actually get good square footage for your buck: how does a $370k 2100 sq foot town home sound? The prices can go even higher of course but it sounds like good variety in the floor plans and styles. One of the descriptions of the Streetscaping Plan intrigued me a lot; they called for 'outdoor livin

There are plans to put funds worth $90 billion to develop world class infrastructure along with the Delhi-Mumbai Corridor which run parallel to the dedicated railway freight corridor. The earlier investments are evaluated to be $50 billion.
The proposed corridor will cover six states and an area of 450,000 sq km, says Commerce minister Kamal Nath at CII function. A considerable portion of the investment could be raised through equity with the governments of Japan and India.
The proposed industrial corridor is 1,483 km long and 300 km wide and will have the Delhi-Mumbai railway freight corridor at the centre.
Nath wants the project to cover his home state of Madhya Pradesh. He wants it to be corrected and refined.
The project can be successful only if the route alignment is changed, adds Nath.
Interestingly, Japanese companies have shown large interests in the project. The India corridor will help them to broaden horizons to markets in Europe and Africa, says Akira Amari, Japan’s Min
I know, it's another grand scheme bubbling away in the planners' pot. It's now a potent brew, with seemingly half of the town set to be transformed into swanky 21st century real estate. The reality is that Crewe could soon rival Liverpool - the 2008 European Capital of Culture - for being the biggest building site in the country! Mill Street, plus Lockitt Street that feeds from it near to Wickes DIY, have been earmarked for redevelopment for some time. It's a dull area these days, a shadow of its former self in the days of black and white photos. A favourite image of mine is a wartime snap of troops marching along Mill Street and under the bridge by Tescos. Still, many of the businesses that have started and failed along the street now stand empty, such as the car dealership on the corner. Behind all of that there is a mish-mash of railway-related land, including the Crewe Signalling Centre. Over the fence, beyond a couple of scruffy loose stone car parks, you can see the Crewe Her
