Whenever I get a contrary opinion that's credible, I feel it's my duty as a blogger to let people know. I won't use his name since I didn't tell him that I would put his opinion on the internet and it was a private conversation, but a Jordanian Christian friend of mine gave the lowdown on Iraq from his perspective. He's not a liberal and some of his statements may offend, but here they are: 1. Saddam was a brutal dictator because brutality is the only thing Iraqis respond to. 2. It's a mistake to have chosen a Kurd, Jalal Talabani, for the post of president as most Iraqis don't respect Kurds whom they consider "gypsies." 3. We are now overjoyed to report that the design of this secondary site is now complete - and we’re very excited with the results of us having burned the midnight oil night after night – so we’re back looking for content for TFTS again (there’ just no stopping us). Every now and again, I’m going to bring back an older post that many of you frequenting my site may not have had the opportunity to read. Here is one of them now: I’m cleaning the lady’s bathroom two nights ago and as I’m Windex-ing the mirrors my manager, April, comes in and tells me the table I have is waiting for their check. I leave the Windex on the sink and throw the paper towels I was using away. I give the table their check and am back in the bathroom in a matter of minutes. My walls are a mess!  A strange comment you may think but then again if only you knew my daughter…. She loves drawing and painting, singing and dancing - in fact she is quite creative in all these aspects.  But none more creative than with a crayon in hand pointed directly at the wall.  Regardless of how much paper I lay on the floor or how closely I supervise her, she always manages to tuck a crayon away for later when “mummy” is not looking. In fact it was only yesterday that I noticed a fresh batch of artistic scribblings had been added to what was a previously a white wall.  A lovely shade of red or was it cerise? Why haven't I been blogging? Work has me in a zombie like state.  The holiday shoping season started at Michaels on Labor Day and hasn't slowed down since. My favorite manager ever announced that he was quitting.  It was like a punch in the gut to me.  I'm sure everyone else wanted to cheer though.  I was the only one who liked the guy.  I feel like he was harassed out of the store because all of my co-workers were always riding his ass about something, starting fights with him just to get him angry enough to yell, and then reporting him to HR. Anyway…he's gone now.  He left before I got there on his last day, but came back the next day to get his check, shook my hand, told me it was good working with me, then gave me a bear hug. I worked side by side with him in the seasonal department for about a year. God, I'm going to miss him.
