A 19-year old Austrian man has confessed to killing his 49-year old room-mate before removing his intestines and eating parts of his brain and internal organs. The 19-year old (identified only as "Robert A.") was living in a ground-floor flat in a Vienna shelter for the mentally ill being run by a private social care company. Police were called in by a cleaner who had entered the premises. She stated that Robert A. admitted to the murder and asked her to call police. The alleged mastermind of the September 11, 2001 attack in the US has admitted to being responsible, the US says.
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, held prisoner at Guantanamo Bay, also admitted to being behind other al-Qaeda operations, according to a transcript of a hearing released by the Pentagon on Wednesday.
"I was responsible for the 9/11 operation, from A to Z," Mohammed said in the transcript.
He admitted to being Osama bin Laden's operational director for "the organising, planning, follow-up and execution of the 9/11 operation". Mohammed's confession was recorded by a US military representative during a hearing at the Guantanamo prison camp in Cuba on Saturday.
The hearing was being held to determine whether Mohammed, a Pakistani national, can be defined as an "enemy combatant". Mohammed also claimed responsibility for an attack on New York's World Trade Centre in 1993, the 2002 bombing of a Bali nightclub in Indonesia and an attempt to take down two American aircr

Patrik Löfgren, the third of the three Swedish athletes caught by police in Gothenburg in mid August and charged with posession and use of cocaine, has finally decided to come clean and confess, both to the police and publicly via a staement to the press. Why Löfgren waited three weeks to face the music, when his partners in crime Patrik Sjöberg (left) and Sven Nylander (right) admitted to use almost immediately, was not explained. Nylander's organization wasted no time in severing every tie with him after the confession, applying damage control to save what can be saved of the organization's cred. Nylander further said that he'd used cocaine as a recreational drug "a handful of times", but never while his active career lasted. The third athlete involved in the drug bust, Patrik Lövgren, (middle above), still claims to be innocent, having no clue as to how traces of the illegal substance could enter his system.
