It feels a bit weird to know that your name can be used for naming people form the opposite sex, like many arabic names: Farah, Wesam and so on.In my case "Rani" i never though that I would find people having my name even from the same sex (males), because it's one of the most rare names in region, and i really like that - to be rare in everything even your name - and I won't really like it when someone calls my name to have at least 10 people responding to the caller saying "ya, what's up"!Though Rani is an arabic name (shocking right? it's of the verb rana, yarno, rani "رنا يرنو فهو راني" meaning the one who looks forward or the one who's targeting something high), and it's a rare name for males in the arabic region, but it seems to be a famous females name in India (lol),
For the past couple of years, Microsoft has been crowing about its hosted CRM service that competes head-to-head with services from Salesforce.com. It wasn’t until today, April 22, however, that Microsoft’s offering in this space became generally available. Microsoft has now taken the “Early Access” label off its Microsoft-hosted Dynamics CRM Online service. Starting today, Microsoft will be offering two different versions of its hosted service: Dynamics CRM Online Professional and Dynamics CRM Online Professional Plus. (The main difference between the two, besides the $20 price differential, is the Plus version provides offline data-sync and expanded storage.) Dynamics CRM Online was formerly known as Dynamics CRM Live. Microsoft changed the name of the service l

The point of this post is not to play dirty. The point is to expose a fatal flaw in the way Google Adsense does business in hopes that they will fix the problem.BackgroundWe already know there are a variety of blackhat tactics that can be used to get a competitor's site banned or penalized in Google’s search listings (e.g. spamming backlinks in bad neighborhoods, duplicate content on multiple domains, etc.). All of these methods are off-site, meaning the webmaster has no way of stopping anyone from setting up hundreds of domains scraping his content and plummeting his SERP ranking. But what about sabotaging your competitor's Adsense account? There is always the obvious "go crazy clicking your competitor's ads" tactic, but at least Google makes some attempt to combat this problem by tracki

'Guimaras best competitor of Boracay'This island province in Western Visayas has been considered to have the same potentials of world famous island resort of Boracay in Aklan. This was the assessment of Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG-6) regional director Evelyn Trompeta.Trompeta told an executive briefing with assistant secretary Raul Banias, the presidential assistant for Panay and Guimaras and some 40 regional directors last November 2007 that Western Visayas has been positioned as tourism haven in the country.“Guimaras is the best competitor of Boracay. While Iloilo is an economic hub, the proximity of Guimaras has very best potentials for tourism,” said Trompeta. What makes Guimaras the next tourism destination?Trompeta explained there are three things to consider:
Okay hands up who has had enough of ebay monopolising the online auction market? Wow! that's quite a few hands! The truth is ebay in the last few months has really started to show it's nasty side. Most sellers now are really struggling to make a profit with their fees having recently just gone up - again. Many small business relied on ebay to sell their wares to a mass market, but now ebay & paypal have stuck the knife in & the fees are just too high to sustain a business let alone a profit! Ebid however has noted all the changes at ebay & have changed their terms accordingly. With so many sellers now leaving ebay in search of newer pastures, Ebid has seen a huge surge in new registered customers & rightly so. For starters they have zero listing fees & zero final value

Asus M930, the smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard announced last year to be a tough competitor for Nokia's N90 Communicator, is now officially unveiled and should becommercially available in March 2008.Leaked specs about the smartphone appeared for the first time back in November 2007, and the official ones that now surfaced are pretty much the same. What doesn't coincide is the nature and power of its processor: while rumors said it's going to be a Marvel PXA27x 520 MHz one, the real processor is a Texas Instruments TI2431 one at 450 MHz, so we have less power than expected. Anyway, Nokia E90 runs with a processor at only 330 MHz, so the M930 is clearly a winner from this point of view.Another worthy feature that Asus M930 comes with is its unusual design that allows you to open it at

According to Scott Buresh as posted on his article-"When a company undertakes a search engine optimization program, whether it is performed in-house or outsourced to an SEO service, most of the attention (and rightly so) is focused on the company website. This is the one aspect where there is a feeling of control—once a website is released into the wild, the company will have to see how its site fares against all the other websites out there, whether the other sites are using ethical SEO tactics or not.Apart from changes made to the company website, the assumption is often that the company and, if it is using one, its SEO service, has zero control over what appears in search engine results. However, this is not usually the case. Often, you or your SEO service can have a direct effect on search engine results by monitoring your competitors and reporting them to the major search engines when the SEO techniques used on their site fall outside what is popularly referred to as ethical SEO

I have been a Blackberry user for the last 2 years and for the most part have nothing but good things to say about it. The only downside to the service is the huge extra monthly fee to use the Blackberry service. With my cell phone provider it cost me $40 extra per month for a sufficient data plan to send and receive email as well as surf the web. That is a LOT of money. So, after my contract expired I have been looking around for a cell phone and plan that would still allow me to receive email and surf the web.
I think I have found the answer. It is Palm’s newest treo-like device, the Centro.

While at the Toronto Search Engine Strategies conference a few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend a discussion about the potential for malicious SEO practices, held by employees of the big 4 (Yahoo / Google / Ask / Microsoft).
There was a general consensus between the search engines that although malicious / negative search engine optimization could work in concept, they have never encountered a specific case of it. Furthermore, the representatives were sure to point out that there is always that chance that a negative SEO campaign could have the exact opposite of the desired effect, as building more links to site, even if they come from a “bad area”, could have a positive net effect on rankings.
So, what is negative search engine optimization? It’s the process of attempting to lower the search engine rankings of a site which you do not own / are not affiliated with (the assumption is your only able to do off-site actions).

This is from Forbes.com
and it shows a few ways a competitor can hurt your site.
1)
Google Bowling
A competitor can point a lot of links to your site from sites that are known as linkfarms. It gives Google the impression that your site is using paid links to rank and it can cause a penalty. According to Matt Cutts this is not impossible to do, but takes effort.
2)
Tattling
Reporting hidden links and such.
3)
Google Insulation
Also known as “reverse SEO”. You create content and pages targetting your competitor’s keywords in order to make him disappear from the top results.
4)
Copyright Takedown Notices
When Google gets notified that a website is using copyrighted content illegally, by law they have to remove the website from their index for 10 days. Within those 10 days the copyright owner needs to file a suit. This is something I didn’t know.
5)
Duplicate Content
According to the post on Forbes.com, this causes a penalty. I have not seen examples of it yet. But

In a recent post on Techcruch, site founder Micheal Arrington just unleashes on an unexpecting new start-up.
Apparently someone affiliated (Maura Landry) with the new dead pool member start-up Panraven submitted a story to Techcrunch hoping to get some press. Well things could not have gone worse. The start-up is a Flickr competitor that claims to be killing them, but in the email they spell Flickr as Flicker with an E. Well for some reason Mr. Arrington has issues with adding “e’s” by accident, probably an over site considering the person spelled the word by the dictionary. But in Micheal’s defense it is a corporation and thier name is spelled “Flickr” but come on, why ream the guy for the misspelling. Its the internet people spell almost everything worng;). Techcrunch’s post are not immaculate either so who knows why he freaked on that one.
Then to add to the start-up’s misery the Techcrunch founder heads over to the site to check i

However, it still can't compete with the 800x480 pixel display in the Nokia N800. The screen is touch-sensitive, which explains the lack of external controls (apart from the keyboard, of course). On the back of the SGH-F700 is a digital camera with a whopping 5 megapixels with autofocus and flash, with a secondary camera on the front for making video calls. This makes it one of the highest resolution cameras to be announced for the general worldwid
Europeana: Only in French at the moment though one can search for books in other languages (including English). I haven't spent much time on it but I already struggled to get multiple filters at once in my search criteria. I can search for books in English or books written in the 2oth century but not for both at once... I assume that you can do it and that I am not fully awake yet on this Sunday morning to use the interface properly. So far Europeana has 12,000 public domain texts. Worth using as a complement to Google Books. On my list of things that annoys me is why everything funded by the European Union as to have "Euro" something in the name? My take: it is the lowest common denominator that everyone can agree on so we will be stuck with dull names and creative decisions run by committees for the next 50 years.Tags: europeana, google
Many web sites today are reporting that NBC Universal and News Corp have announce a deal to create their own video site that will compete with YouTube and contain exclusive content from both companies. In addition to these companies working together to create this new video service, they have also partnered with AOL, MSN, MySpace, and Yahoo! This may very well be the largest Internet video distribution service. It will be interesting how this all turns out. I do like the fact that many of the TV networks are streaming shows on the Internet now like CBS, Fox, and NBC. Click the following link to Business Wire’s article which includes the News Corp press release. Click the link to Ars Technica’s article on the NBC/Fox Deal.
“The full list of TV shows that will be available at launch, according to News Corp., will include Heroes, 24, House, My Name Is Earl, Saturday Night Live, Friday Night Lights, The Riches, 30 Rock, The Simpsons,

"Playstation Home", a 3D world will be free to all PS3 owners. Everyone will get a free flat (Habbo style), free clothes, a TV and stereo where you can stream programs. Plenty of opportunities for multi-players gaming too. I can't wait to see that and I can't wait to see Linden Labs' reaction too.Via IT Wire.Tags: Sony, Second Life
As with all good products, Digg gets copies. Netscape memorably tried this, resulting in an onslaught of Diggdom criticism. Quite rightly too; it was a blatant rip off. Then Yahoo tried it and got utterly blitzed by loyal Digg users clambering at the walls crying shenanigans. Again, quite right they were too as the Yahoo effort was about as original as the Zune.
Now Microsoft is jumping on the bandwagon - yes, another - by launching MSN Reporter. It’s another attempt at cloning a great product and there’s a fantastic list of reason why it won’t work.
Reason One:
It’s not Digg.
Any Digg user will appreciate the beautiful simplicity of this fact. Digg was revolutionary in the same way the iPod was; it was new, fresh and had distinct style. It also had the beauty of being created ouside of an established company, meaning it had no negative preconceptions in the minds of its users. This isn’t true for these clones, since neither Netscape, Yahoo or Microsoft ha
The renowned Architect, Hazel Wong, has proclaimed that Dubai’s Skyline will be a competitor in days to come with most other architecturally well-known cities.Wong, the Regional Director of RMJM, an architectural firm in Dubai, who also helped in designing of the Emirates Towers in Dubai, said that the architectural spotlight will be shifting to Dubai, which also has designs such as the Dancing Towers and Burj Dubai. While speaking during the landmark ceremony of the West Wharf Residential Tower in the “New Manhattan” Business Bay in Dubai, Wong is reported to have mentioned that Dubai has stood apart in being the main focus of global architecture and is continuing to attract plenty of international tourists. The velocity of developments, wherein the planning and building of the projects takes place at a very rapid pace, is very satisfying for the architects.UAE has been attracting some of the renowned architects, like for instance Zaha Hadid, the first woman to be awarded the pre
I recently read an great article “2Advanced Studios V.5 Attractor Part 2″ from issue 126 of Web Designer Magazine, the one with the bad-ass red transformer on the cover. It covers a competitor of ours and their impressive implementation of FLASH DYNAMIC DEEP LINKING.
2Advanced Studios, located near us here in Southern California may be competition in the sense that we both build killer web applications however their work is much more targeted to the intense eye candy audience where topLingo’s soul thrives in great application back-end development. Of course topLingo’s eye-candy is appealing but we have neither the time or desire to focus 100% focus that direction. Regardless, they’ve always had our respect and reaffirmed by this recent article where they address Flash’s biggest deficiency to the user, “Letting the user hit the back button, and taking them where they were last.”

In an interview with TV Tokyo, Microsoft's Bill Gates has said that their biggest competitor isn't Sony's PS3, but it's Nintendo's Wii. The strength of Nintendo on the portable space has been very impressive and surprised a lot of people; and the strength of the Wii; and we see Nintendo as the toughest competition, said Gates. Considering Nintendo's success with sales of the DS and its games, not to mention the successful Wii launch, it comes as no suprise that Gates sees the Japanese giant as his main opposition. Over the Christmas period Nintendo have enjoyed mammoth sales of Wii across the Globe, whereas Sony haven't faired too well with many retailers claiming that they still have PS3s in stock despite the well documented launch shortages. Nintendo have also had huge success with the DS. Since its launch in March 2005 the handheld has sold more than seven million consoles across Europe.
