It's Just the Coffee Talking.... Thankfully
Yesterday was payday for Coffeehusband and wouldn't you know it, I was too busy to even think about getting to a store for coffee, milk or kitty litter. It was a crazy day. Starting with finding out I forgot the credit card payment last week on to balancing checkbooks, paying bills, laundry, vacuuming, and then after the kids were awake, we had a major 'family meeting' - and after that, constantl

Coffee Talking... and Rambling... and uh, Rambling
Coffee is Folger's Gourmet Supreme - Coffeehouse Series - Dark Roast. And it's good. _____________________________ Thanks for the comments on I Was Almost a Kept Woman... for a Day - I still smile to think of the offer and I'm sure Anna Nicole Smith would have taken him up on it (or any of the chicks from Jerry Springer...) but accepting the coffee and lunch was enough for me. Yesterday was one

      It's Just the Coffee Talking....
Well my readers, I had a couple different long posts this morning all hinging on work and my job... but in the end I've chosen to delete them because it's best not to air some things on a public blog. Let me see... how can I put this? I work for a Dictator and a Director. There is a huge silent war waging behind the scenes over my position. 1. The directors (2) are at war with the

It Grows Like a Weed - Sunday Morning Coffee Talking
Anyone with a garden right now probably knows what I'm talking about. This morning's edition of Coffee Talking is brought to you by the worlds most prolific vegetable... the zucchini! I only planted one lowly little zucchini plant this year but I've found that for a family of 5 that is about right. Yesterday, to use up some of the zucchini's I made zucchini cake, chocolate zucchini bundt cake

Friday Night at Coffee Talking? Hey! It's where the cool people are!
Back when I had three little ones underfoot 24/7 I couldn't even think of or dream about the day when I would be lonely on a Friday or Saturday night. Now, here I am... alone on a Friday night! LOL. Husband is working as usual, but the kids are old enough now that they are busy as well. BabyGirl went to her boyfriends track meet about an hour from here, Coffeekid is hanging out with friends

      It's Just the Coffee Talking
If the last coffee I drank was at 9:30 this morning and it's now 2:30 does it still count as a caffeine jolted conversation that I can blame on the coffee talking? Good. Thank You. (Your $5 pay off checks are in the mail).First off, how I can be so hot and cold about this blog? I swear some mornings I look at it and think; I don't even want to blog anymore, I should just delete it all. Of course, those of you who have been around here for awhile know I did just that last Fall. I was fine with it too! Done. Over. Kaput! And then what happens? TWICE in one week I get offers from coffee companies to test their products and blog about it on my blog. Free coffee just for blogging a review. LOTS of free coffee. Like, almost 4 pounds of the stuff. So I was like, heck YEAH I'll crank up the old blog, it's only been down for 2 days ya know? But really, I don't blog because I'm an aspiring writer. I'm not. I don't hope that I'm 'noticed' and someone wants to turn my

CR shelters change policy on homelessCEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa Homeless shelters in Cedar Rapids have developed a policy to make sure people won't be left out in the elements. The change comes after a man died of exposure after he was turned away from a shelter in December because he was drunk. Local shelters don't accept people who've been drinking.Under the new policy, shelter staff or police dealing with an intoxicated person will call an outreach team, which will assess the person's condition.Depending on the finding, the person could be taken to a hospital for treatment. If they're a threat to themselves or others, they could be taken to jail. Another open is a motel room paid for by the Salvation Army.So... let's see here.Hospital = I'm paying for it.Jail = I'm paying for it.Hotel Room and Salvation Army = my donations pay for it.I do not want to pay for drunk homeless people to sleep off their stupor. Once again... I get to pay for other peoples bad decisions.
