The Indonesian Police have confiscated Molotov cocktails, self-made firearms and bullets as well as sharp weapons from a students' dormitory in South Sulawesi, an officer said Wednesday. Your tab for a singular mai tai would run you $1,400.00. I read further, wondering if the drink glass was rimmed in edible gold dust or some such opulent nonsense! Apparently the price is justified owing to the origin of the rum, which happens to be among one of only six bottles (of a 17 year vintage) of Jamaican rum of the same variety used by Trader Vic to create the original mai tai at his Oakland bar circa 1944.The article went on to cover further mixology mania including “garnishes” in the form of solid gold swizzle sticks and martinis on a 1.52 carat diamond “rock”.
