Cinta Laura Kiehl, a Eurasian teen soap opera in Indonesia who often appears in primetime sinetrons, apparently holds dual citizenship: Indonesian and German, according to a The Jakarta Post article that was published on Saturday, 16 February 2008. My first reaction when I found that out was: Oh, really??!!! I had always known Indonesia to be one of the many countries in the world that only allows single citizenship for its passport holders, just like Japan. America and Switzerland are two examples of countries that allow dual citizenship. You can verify the truth yourself by searching for it in Wikipedia. Perhaps anybody could enlighten me on why Cinta Laura could publicly declare her dual citizenship like that and still escape deportation?

Sign the petition to end birthright citizenship for illegal alien children
8/27/2007

We need tens of thousands of signatures on this petition, so please forward this email to everyone you know. The petition is in support of H.R. 1940, a bill introduced in the house by Congressman Nathan Deal of Georgia.
It’s going to take a lot more than just signing this petition to achieve this goal. After signing the petition, I want you to look up your Representative’s contact information and give them a call. This will only take a few minutes.
Speak briefly and to the point to the person answering the phone. Ask them to have the Representative co-sponsor the bill H.R.1940 ‘The Birthright Citizenship A
And who might that be? Suha Arafat:Yasser Arafat's widow Suha lost her Tunisian citizenship, the London-based Al-Quds al-Arabi reported Monday.Reportedly, the instruction to withdraw Arafat's naturalized status comes from Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.The Tunisian government did not state a reason for revoking the citizenship, but sources in the justice system said Arafat lost her "moral and material rights."Arafat, who has been living with her daughter in Tunisia since the death of her husband in 2004, was naturalized in 2006. Al-Hayat, another London-based Arabic daily, reported that Suha Arafat left Tunisia last month. A reason for her leaving the country was not given. It probably doesn't matter either. All that matters is that she's being punished for being as evil as her horrible husband, now thankfully deceased.

The following events transpired on Friday, May 25, 2007.
Okay, I didn’t actually apply for Canadian citizenship, but I should have. And around this time in 2009, when I’m trekking cross country across our vast neighbor to the north, don’t be surprised if you see a helicopter chase on CNN involving a runaway American tourist attempting to disappear into the woods somewhere near the Vermont-Quebec border.
We awoke early at the campground, around 7:30a. While trying to fully dress myself from the driver’s seat - boxers, socks, shoes and all - I managed to fall gracelessly and with all my weight onto the car horn for a full eight seconds. So I’m pretty sure the other kind and appreciative folks camping at North Beach were up at 7:32. Don’t you just love being “that guy”? I whispered apologies out the car window as loudly as I could. We left shortly thereafter (before the riot ensued), opting to skip the fifty cent showers in favor of su
While Congress and the White House remain divided over what to do with the estimated 12 million illegal immigrants now living in the United States, a new poll shows the American public appears to have reached a consensus on the question. A USA TODAY/Gallup Poll taken last weekend of 1,007 people found that 78 percent of respondents feel people now in the country illegally should be given a chance at citizenship. The poll has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. Disagreements about the fate of the nation's illegal residents were a major factor in the deadlock that kept Congress from enacting an immigration bill last year, despite the support of key Democratic and Republican leaders, as well as President Bush. The president and members of his Cabinet, including Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, have said it would be prohibitively expensive to deport all the nation's illegal residents. But many conservatives strongly oppose putting illegal immigrants on a

New Delhi, April 21 (IANS) Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasrin has criticised the Indian government for denying her citizenship and extending her visa by only six months each time, and says she hates all religions for being oppressive towards women.

“But I live in tension. Anytime I may have to leave this country. Where would I go?” she queries, and adds her efforts to meet with West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee to press her case have been in vain. &ld

After spending the last few years waiting for USCIS to declare adoption finalization papers acceptable proof and formal documentation of US citizenship (and it's still not), I decided to get my youngest kidlet her Certificate of Citizenship. We submitted her paperwork and check for $215 in late May. We received her COC today via certified mail. About 4 months. (In comparison, we waited 18 months for Spencer's (1999) and had to involve our US Congressional office for assistance.)Sometimes things do go right. Now we're off to SSA office with COC in hand to have her SSA account changed from "resident alien" to US Citizen.Remember - this is NOT an automatic process. Get your child a US Passport or COC and make sure you march down to SSA and get your child's status updated. Without documented proof of Citizenship, SSA will not update the status. And if you or your spouse dies before the status is upgraded, your child will receive reduced benefits.-----------------------------------------
