Republican Race goes round in circles
According to the Daily Telegraph, the Republican race is really over. Click on to their "Republican Nomination Race" link and you go straight to the Democratic one. Ron Paul is still in with the desire to get as many delegates as possible, but there is no desire to show it from the Telegraph's point of view. Ron Paul got 8% in North Carolina, and Mike Huckabee did even better on 12%! In Indiana, Mitt Romney was on the ticket as well and managed 5%. These guys are out of the race apparently, but that doesn't stop some people wanting to vote for them! The press is very "sided", so the maxim "don't always believe what you read in the papers" is very true.

Russian Circles - Russian Circles Ep
Russian Circles is a three piece instrumental post-metal/post-rock band from Chicago. Similar to fellow Chicago residents Pelican, Russian Circles play epic, sprawling music which runs the gamut of heavy discordant metal, to soft delicate passages. They are also known for their energetic live shows, which include tours with Minus the Bear and Chin Up Chin Up, as well as an appearance at the 2006 SXSW.Formed in late 2004 by guitarist Mike Sullivan and bassist Colin DeKuiper (both formerly of another instrumental band Dakota/Dakota) they quickly recruited Dave Turncrantz, formerly of St. Louis band Riddle of Steel. When performing live, the band is noted for being able to replicate and even expand upon their recorded material through Sullivan and DeKuiper’s use of sampling and loop pedals.

HOME REMEDIES FOR DARK CIRCLES UNDER THE EYES
Dark circles under the eyes tell us about the health of an individual. They are produced due to overstrain, after an illness or an allergy. They can also be the result of undernourishment. But these dark circles do not produce any harm to the body. So anybody with dark circles should not worry about them. In fact, sometimes they're not even an indication of physical problems.Dark circles can be aggravated by fatigue, allergies, overexposure to the sun, menstruation or pregnancy. But they're usually hereditary; if your parents have them, there are more chances that you do, too have them. Dark circles are the result of the engorged blood vessels under your eyes. Because the skin under eyes is thinner than skin anywhere else on body, therefore blood vessels there are more noticeable, especial

As I brushed him and tacked him up, I noticed that he seemed spunkier than he had in awhile. He was an old horse, and the cold slowed him down.We were having a great lesson. Eddie moved easily and was responsive to my commands. It seemed to me that we cantered effortlessly. There was no balking at jumps. Eddie seemed to be enjoying the ride as much as I was.We were only using the outside edge of the arena. Several jumps were clustered at one end waiting to be moved into place for an upcoming show. We took our jump and turned to the left and Eddie inexplicably picked up speed. I tightened and loosened my grip

If you remember, the Magatamas crowded the red seed beads, and distorted the shape of the borders around the windows.Using a new piece of thread and some matte transparent red seed beads, I did one row of peyote stitch around each window to see if it would help. Below, you can see the first one I did:In the next photo, the four windows on the left are peyote-stitched, and the second four are not. Can you see the difference??And, here are all eight:I think it helps, although they are still not perfect. But, what is, really? Just running 5 miles east, and then coming back the same way gives me a feeling of 'Been there, done that, got the t-shirt to prove it.'The drawback of running in circles is ending up where your started. And even though yóu know you've run a lot of miles, how do you prove it? Who's to say you never really went anywhere, and sat on a parc bench the whole time?!Sadly the same thing applies to your work as a mom. You do the laundry, cook the meals, do the school run, and at the end of the day you're back where you began. The laundry has miraculously grown back, you'll have to do the school run all over again and the kids are hungry again. You end up where you started. That's why I'm so happy wit

Get Rid Of Those Dark Circles:
Modern lifestyle puts a lot of stress on our bodies, and the eyes are the first ones to suffer as blemishes called dark circles appear around the eyes. Millions of people complain about the untimely arrival of dark circles under their eyes. There are several causes for this occurrence such as allergies, exposure to sun, lack of sleep, poor diet, etc.Dark circles usually affect the younger age group, mostly people in their 20’s and 30’s. The eyes speak a lot about a person, even more so than the face. Hence the appeal of a person’s face depends a lot on the appearance of the eyes. Dark circles around the eyes give the face an exhausted and older look.Cosmetic eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is known to change the appearance of tired and droopy eyes and lend them a revitalized look by

The sun was low even in the middle of the day and the stones cast long shadows over the winter grass.Like Cesky Krumlov, Avebury set in its unique prehistoric environment is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Even in the Winter the place has its visitors and yet it still has tremendous power - a power that demands wonder. The scale of the place is remarkable - the ditch and rampart that ring the site are quite enormous, despite the wear of time and browsing sheep. I took this photo of a mother and child in the ditch to show this and then I saw the shadow of a standing stone beside them. All my Czech friends would love this

      Vicious Circles
For the week, the Dow was down 2.1%; the S&P and NASDAQ were off about 2.5%. The new news was inflation. The Producer Price Index increased by 3.2%, in November and 7.2% for past twelve months. The Consumer Price Index was up 4.2% for the same twelve month period. The primary culprit was energy. Gasoline prices increased 35% last month. The only reason the CPI wasn’t up as much as the PPI is that energy companies have been reluctant to pass along price increases for fear of government backlash. Energy prices have been rising, in part, due to a declining dollar. With a $60 billion monthly trade deficit, the world is awash in dollars. This puts further pressure on the dollar, driving up the cost of imports, particularly energy. This is a vicious circle.   The old news last week was the housing and financial issues. The financial crisis has tightened credit standards for all potential mortgagees. (These tough new lend

Nine Circles of Blogging Buzz... Don't say I didn't warn you.
Before I went to college, my dad gave me this piece of advice:"There will always be someone somewhere doing something...  and they'll want you to do it with them."  His point was that there will always be something fun to do, and it will seem like everyone is always doing something other than studying, but if I try to keep up with everyone and do everything, I'll flat out flunk out.  People generally don't advertise when they are doing their real work. I remember an episode of "The Cosby Show" when Vanessa was having trouble with her grades.  She had been studying with her friend Janet at the Huxtable house, but after the friend would go home, Vanessa would consider her studying done.  Little did she realize that Janet would then go home and do her real studying there.  Her friend was keeping up her good grades and Vanessa couldn't understand how it was possible, given that they were studying the same amount.  Wrong, Vanessa.

Actually I think I am getting well into the sixties with the sketches, and the project as a whole - I think - is late 2007. Can’t find it online. Will find it though & post a picture here. Now I want this book Now I want this book.

Squares, Circles, Triangles, Stars and Hexagons
Eli is going shape crazy. He wants nothing more than to hold a triangle, square, circle and star in his hands at all times. Everything he looks at is just another shape. He loves it and now everything is shape centric. Before bed we were playing and he was asking me to draw shapes. Diamonds are his favorite followed by stars and circles. Using is Magna Doodle he tries so hard to make shapes and has successfully made a diamond, triangle, circle and many other shapes. I draw one, he erases and tries to draw the same shape. He even asks me to draw him, mommy and the dog. Give him some crayons and he can color for hours at a time and he is getting really good and staying on a single page and coloring all the pages. The other day he pulled out a crayon and said it was grey, like the color of the clouds (we had a bit of rain that day and the clouds were menacing). It is just so enjoyable to see his imagination and creativity explode. He is so smart and clever and full of wonder. He makes me

      Spinning Circles Around Your Mind
William S. Fischer- CirclesI don't know how many of you have actually heard this one, but a DJ/music junkie friend of mine turned me on to it several years ago. There is an incredibly eclectic melange of styles represented here that runs the gamut from ambient electronic moog experiments to funky jazz fusion recalling Tony Williams "Emergency" sessions . William S. Fischer was an arranger for Herbie Mann and Nat Adderly records before Herbie gave William the opportunity to record his own record for his Embryo label. The personnel on this one is top-notch- Billy Cobham- Drums, Ron Carter-Bass, Hugh McCracken and Eric Weissberg on gutiars, William Fischer- moog synthesizer and Bill Robinson- vocals. "Patience Is Virtue" combines a commanding Eugene McDaniels-inspired vocal with an infectious funky rock groove. "Saigon" pummels you into submission with a rapid-fire tempo combined with Axelrod-inspired orchestral flourishes that is guaranteed to get your blood pumping. The two showcases f

Billy Preston - Will It Go Round In Circles (1973)
It's advantageous to get an early start on your chosen career, but Billy Preston took the concept to extremes. By age ten he was playing keyboards with gospel diva Mahalia Jackson, and two years later, in 1958, he was featured in Hollywood's film bio of W.C. Handy, St. Louis Blues, as young Handy himself. Preston was a prodigy on organ and piano, recording during the early '60s for Vee-Jay and touring with Little Richard. He was a loose-limbed regular on the mid-'60s ABC TV series Shindig, proving his talent as both vocalist and pianist, and he built an enviable reputation as a session musician, even backing the Beatles on their Let It Be album. That impressive Beatles connection led to Preston's big break as a solo artist with his own Apple album, but it was his early-'70s soul smashes "Outa-Space" and the high-flying vocal "Will It Go Round in Circles" for A&M that put Preston on the permanent musical map. Sporting a humongous Afro and an omnipresent gap-toothed grin, Preston s

Crop Circles - An Investigation - Fact or Fantasy
Tonight, I set out to investigate crop circles. (Meaning I set out to make fun of crop circles and the people who believe they are caused by UFOs) What I discovered astounded me. I found powerful, compelling video-evidence on such a grand scale that I began to seriously doubt that evidence so vast and so convincing could be an elaborate hoax. The videos I have selected, particularly the "Google Earth Crop Circle" video, are among the most-powerful videos I have ever seen. The evidence is astounding. The conclusion disquieting. These crop circles may very-well be real. You decide for yourself. Let the investigation begin. --The Clever Cynichttp://theclevercynic.blogspot.com/

Get Out of the Fish Bowl! Or Just Keep Going in Circles …
I’ve mentioned Jessica Hagy’s clever Indexed blog before. She describes her site as “a little project that lets me make fun of some things and sense of others. I use it to think a little more relationally without resorting to doing actual math.” Her post yesterday couldn’t be more appropriate for daydreaming cubicle jockeys who long to escape their 9-to-5 time clock existence and get out into the world. Prayer Circles on the Playground
I was recently exchanging comments other readers at The Honest Doubter (great blog, BTW), when I suddenly realized how strange many of the examples of Christian intolerance I provide must seem to people outside America (or even outside the bible belt in America). I left a comment about prayer circles in a post about the absurdity of calling children "Christian" when we would never call them "Democrats" or "Republicans." A fellow reader, Plonka, who happens to be from Australia, asked me whether prayer circles really happen here. I responded in the affirmative, but now I'd like to expand on what I wrote. What is a Prayer Circle?Imagine yourself back in the third grade. It is recess, and you are with your classmates on the playground. There is a teacher in the vicinity, but the supervision is fairly minimal. Suddenly, a group of 6 or more children approach you and say something along the lines of, "Have you been saved?" You are not sure what to make of the question, so other questions ab
