Es tiempo de navidad y Santa está a punto de traer regalos, pero la chimenea no esta conectada a la sala de lacas. Debes solucionarlo antes de que sea demasiado tarde.
ItÂ’s christmas time and santa is about to bring presents, but oh gosh! Your fireplace is fake and is not connected to the chimney! You must fix it before itÂ’s too late.
Emma Cook's Chimney Sweep Couture This selection of dresses from Emma Cook’s collection for Fall looks as if the models have just emerged from a smoldering fire. Don’t get me wrong, I love the designs, but they are a little “chimney-sweep couture.”
Cook has many of the seasons trends covered; lace, leggings, sheer and tie-dyed fabrics. The minis are fun, layered and slightly goth. I par

Chimney liners are one of the most important fireplace accessories you can buy to protect your home and health. A fire in a wood burning or gas fireplace creates high levels of heat and lethal gases. These combustion products are capable of causing damage to your fireplace, chimney and home, and can even make you [...]
LONDON – British police say they found a naked burglary suspect trapped in the chimney of a supermarket in the northern English town of Pemberton. This mid-1780s tavern seems the perfect place for it, with its nice white porch wrapped around the red brick building; and the view on Lake Champlain and the bridge to New York state is superb.
The Chimney Climbers are a DJ/producer duo from Stockholm, Sweden, who recently spent time in our own NYC putting on some great shows (from what we heard) and making a name for themselves. Even though we couldn’t make it out to see them perform, we did get the opportunity to chat with them a bit, and [...]

It is no wonder people have a hard time learning the English language. We have words that are written or said the same, yet they have different meanings. The word “cricket” is a great example.

Cleaning your BBQ grill chimney is probably the bit that people like the least about barbecues - scraping up dirt and grease is never fun, but if you want to enjoy another barbecue and have the food taste good and be safe to eat, then it is a job that needs to be done. [...]
Chimney pots are usually earthenware caps placed on the top of a chimney to inexpensively extend its length and improve the draft. They work like a cap and keep birds and squirrels from nesting in the chimney. Chimney caps often feature a rain guard to keep rain from going down the chimney. When installing on [...]
Chimney caps are in indispensable part of home heating setups. A good quality chimney cap ensures the comfort of the inhabitants of a house during the winter seasons. The Chimney caps benefit a user in many ways other than providing ventilation for the fireplace. The birds and rodents like Raccoons can be prevented from staying [...]

All I can do these past few days is breathe in and out and thank my parents for a roof over my head. We are exhausted...absolutely worn out from days of packing, moving furniture, dealing with contractors and electricians, tracking down missing hardwood floors, and extracting pennies from gosh knows where to pay for gorgeous new spindles.BeforeDuringCurrently our house looks like a disaster area, Miss Kitty is sleeping in my parents shower (much to her dismay), our food and all of our personal belongings are in trash bags in my parents basement, and AJ is having trouble with the transition (although he thinks it is really cool to break walls).
by William BlakeWhen my mother died I was very young,And my father sold me while yet my tongueCould scarcely cry 'weep! 'weep! 'weep! 'weep! So your chimneys I sweep, and in soot I sleep. There's little Tom Dacre, who cried when his head,That curled like a lamb's back, was shaved: so I said,"Hush, Tom! never mind it, for when your head's bare,You know that the soot cannot spoil your white hair."And so he was quiet; and that very night,As Tom was a-sleeping, he had such a sight, -That thousands of sweepers, Dick, Joe, Ned, and Jack,Were all of them locked up in coffins of black. And by came an angel who had a bright key,And he opened the coffins and set them all free; Then down a green plain leaping, laughing, they run,And wash in a river, and shine in the sun. Then naked and white, all their ba
By: Steven L. SmithHere in the Pacific Northwest where many people burn wood for heat there are many scary and unsafe chimneys and wood burning appliances. I would like to believe that just about anyone could guess that a chimney and wood stove or fireplace will, eventually, require cleaning, maintenance and service. That advice applies to masonry and the assorted metal chimneys. I want to believe that people can figure this out, but that obviously is not the situation. Recently I was witness to a neglected masonry chimney. The black, oozing creosote was an inch thick and caked inside from the top clear down to the homemade, and inefficient, wood stove below. The system was cranking nothing but waste products up the chimney. Creosote is flammable, so it is important to clean and maintain a
Chimney Sweep & Liner InspectionPrice $99 Special $65*Chimney will be bushed and cleaned in much the same manner as a fireplace chimney would be cleaned. We use steel brushes to sweep interior of walls, removing all debris by vacuuming with a truck mounted vacuum and using the high pressure air wand. Hey screw Santa!! He never brings me what I want! Or maybe it was cause my parent's were too cheap they couldn't afford a chimney! In a country which can get as cold in the winter as the Czech Republic, buildings are designed around the need to keep warm at that time of year. A friend, who is a specialist in traditional Czech building design and Czech stoves and chimneys in particular, was looking at a book we had brought over of Cotswolds buildings, when he asked why was it that chimneys were positioned at the outside wall of English houses, rather than in the centre (thus heating the whole house) as in Czecho. And another friend tells me that when she first came to England she was astonished to see water and sewage pipes running down the outside of walls. Having survived the 2005/6 winter I can tell you if the pipes in our house went down the outside we would have no water in the winter and we would have waterfalls down the side of the house when the spring thaw came.We have recycled the old wood stoves, which put out a great amount of heat and have the added advantage that you can keep a mug of tea warm on top
No person on the planet is more creative then a late night drunk who is locked out of a friends house they are supposed to crash at. They become a combination of Jason Bourne, MacGyver and Ethan Hunt all rolled into one. They may not gain entry to their final objective but the amount of will and determination they are able to muster in their drunken state is unparalleled. These drunken operatives of the early morning don’t always gain entry to their final objectives. Sometimes they may end up passed out in stranger’s parked car or they may end up falling into a chimney while crossing roof tops.
A German man who had been drinking heavily at Munich’s Oktoberfest beer festival got stuck in a chimney for 12 hours while trying to climb into a friend’s apartment, police said Friday.
After finding his friend was not at home, the 27-year-old climbed on to the roof of a neighboring building at about 2 a.m. Thursday and headed for what he thought was a gap in the wall bet
You get drunk and you want to see your lady friend. It is 3:00 am. How do I get in the house? You pull a Santa Claus and try to go down the chimney. Awesome idea. Except that you get stuck. This angers your girlfriend who tells the firefighters to leave him in the chimney and let him die. I guess the love is gone.

Today, a true summer day, Paul Simonelli was repointing our Chimney as well as shortening it. We were happy that he could make it today because tomorrow the Roofers will show up…., he also gave us some good ideas on how to get some real curb appeal which the house most certainly needs. Being on the Main Road we need some separation there. Perhaps a New Englandish Stone Wall. I would love to do it right away but there is a budget to watch and it would be good to have the bathroom and kitchen in place first. We’ve only been here for two weeks now…
Well, my first gift suggestion shouldn’t come as a surprise after my last post, yes that’s right it’s the Weber 87886 Chimney Starter.
Check out my post on how a chimney starter can make it much easier to light the charcoal for a BBQ grill or smoker.
Still recovering from those burnt eyebrows you received last time you tried to use lighter fluid to light charcoal? Let me introduce you to a fast and safe way instead.
A chimney starter is a metal cylinder with a grate at one end. You place newspaper under the grate, and your charcoal on top of it. Light the newspaper and within half an hour you will have plenty of lit charcoal to use in your smoker or grill.
The best chimney starter currently on the market, in my opinion, is the Weber 87886 Chimney Starter. Like all Weber products it is built to last, you won’t have problems with the metal rusting, and the handle falling off with this chimney starter.
Lighting The Chimney Using Newspaper
Start by making two lose tubes using two pieces of newspaper, by rolling the paper diagonally from one corner to the diagonally opposite corner. Bring the ends of the tubes together to form two donuts, one small enough to fit inside the other. Turn the chimney starter upside down, and place the
