I've been an Indy Car fan ever since Danny Sullivan and his famous Spin and Win victory in the 1985 Indianapolis 500. Katherine Legge and Dan Clarke, both based in the Midwestern city of Indianapolis, have visited Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, Indiana, along with colleagues Simon Pagenaud and Will Power to encourage students to practise ‘hands on the wheel’ driving.
The campaign is designed to encourage drivers to to stay 100 per cent focused while behind the wheel after recent statistics show that 80 per cent of all crashes and 65 per cent of near-crashes in the US are caused by distracted drivers.

Last year’s Strictly Come Dancing champion Mark Ramprakash has claimed judges have turned this year’s show into a ‘mockery’.
The popular cricketer launched stinging attack over the failure to clamp down on rule-breaking in the show.
He claimed that the judge’s failure to punish illegal moves by dancers was undermining the entire series.
Ramprakash, 38, singled out colourful judge Bruno Tonioli for criticism claiming he had lost “credibility” over his antics in this year’s show.
His anger comes after partners Kelly Brook and Brendan Cole carried out an illegal move on the show, but were not punished by judges.
They put an extra lift into their American Smooth routine over a week ago, but still got full marks from Tonioli and high scores from the others.
Then contestant Kenny Logan said he was going to break rules as well as he would not be punished.

Takeru ‘Tsunami’ said he can only open his mouth to make a gap the size of a fingertip after being diagnosed with jaw arthritis.
In an entry on his blog entitled Occupational Hazard, Kobayashi said: "My jaw refused to fight any more." "I feel ashamed that I couldn’t notice the alarm bells set off by my own body," he said.
"But with the goal to win another title with a new record, I couldn’t stop my training so close to the competition. "I was continuing my training and bearing with the pain but finally I destroyed my jaw."
But he said he still wanted to go to the competition in New York.
