Delta Airlines Offers Passengers Carbon Offsets
The powers that be at Delta Airlines, have come up with a carbon offsets program that passengers and fliers can take easy advantage of. Basically when a customer books a flight at the airlines website Delta.com, one is offered the option of buying carbon offsets right at booking time. The price per roundtrip ticket is a modest $5.50 and this money goes to the environmental organization called Go Zero. Delta is the first U.S. airline to offer carbon offsets to fliers. booking time, carbon neutral, carbon offsets, conservation, delta airlines, environmental organization, fliers, roundtrip ticket, Socially Responsible

The wacky world of carbon offsets, pt.I
You're probably hearing a lot about companies going "carbon neutral" these days. All the cool kids are doing it, and it's even become a selling point for Democratic and Republican presidential candidates.Sounds good, but what does it actually mean? Has everyone just stopped exhaling? Here's a quickie primer on the logic and logistics behind carbon offsets.

Congress Wants more Oversight on Carbon Offsets
As  I first wrote about here, it appears the bloom is off the rose in regards of the carbon offset scam. Now congress wants more oversight into this, you can read about it here. This whole idea of voluntary carbon offsets or carbon credits is a way to get the American people used to paying for their indulgences. Once people get used to this notion that they can live their lives however they want as long as they pay for these credits it won’t be long until these credits become mandatory. This whole global warming fiasco is a political issue designed to tax and regulate you. It is not an environmental issue, it is a political issue. America, you need to put a stop to this before your every move is taxed.

Carbon Offsets to Play Role in My Trip Around the World
I’m excited to share my decision to make carbon offsets a part of my backpacking trip around the world. As it becomes increasingly evident the US government is far from taking the aggressive measures it’s citizenry would support, I am inspired by the actions of individuals (such as Richard Branson), cities, states (California), and countries (France) to change the carbon equation. In February, after watching An Inconvenient Truth, I began to recycle again. In April, for Earth Day, I bought compact fluorescent lamps. I am looking forward to developing a strategy to account for my carbon footprint during my trip. For the moment, I’m entertaining the idea of dedicating 50% of any advertising income from this site to offsetting the carbon emissions of the planes, trains and automobiles I will use. For example, one UK company estimated the cost of an offset for an airplane ride from Washington, DC to Auckland, New Zealand at $32. Given this first flight will likely b

Al Gore: Do as I say not as I do (carbon offsets)
The ongoing story of Al Gores huge energy eating estate gets better and better. Not only does his mansion use 20 times (!!!) as much energy as the average home but his purchase of "carbon offsets" has revealed that he is buying the offsets from a company he started himself. More limousine liberals saying do as I say not as I do. Actually it is even worse than that as he is trumpeting doom and gloom he is drumming up new business for himself. Of course he will be excused for his outlandish use of fossil fuels by the left and the media because of how much he does to "raise awareness" about the global warmign issue. There's a saying I firmly believe in "Think global but act local". Basically Al Gore should, literally, get his own house in order before telling us how to manage ours. ~RJH Bill Hobbs article link   The Profit of DoomAs the controversy over global warming doomsayer Al Gore's voracious energy-eater mansion rolls on, there's an angle I think
