Mercedes-Benz to add start-stop capability to entire lineupFollowing on the heels of BMW's decision to add Efficient Dynamics technology to pretty much their entire model lineup, Mercedes has decided to do start doing much the same thing. Starting with the A and B Class small cars in September, Mercedes will be adding engine start-stop capabilities on all their cars. The small front wheel drive models will reportedly be using the Valeo belt drive system while the larger rear wheel drive models will use a different system. Those models will rely on an integrated flywheel starter-generator similar to what General Motors had on their now-discontinued parallel hybrid pickup trucks.

Samsung Electronics is adding video editing and production functions to a new cell phone (SCH-B750) so users can film, edit and upload videos to Internet video sites (such as YouTube) without using a PC.The Samsung SCH-B750 shoots CIF-resolution images (352 pixels by 288 pixels) and includes software to edit the images and does limited production work, such as adding a caption or background music. Once done the videos can be immediately uploaded to online sites like Pandora TV, South Korea's leading user-generated video site.The camera is a 3-megapixel model with auto focus and other features include reception of satellite mobile digital TV broadcasting.
