Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi is one of the most random shows I have ever seen. It follows the Excel Saga concept where each episode takes place in it’s own unique world, but this is a much funnier show, in my opinion. This just goes to show that Gainax knows how to make good comedy. This week has been insane. It started with both of my cars being vandalized and many personal items being stolen. It heightened with forgetting my own mother’s birthday, a girlfriend having marriage problems, and an unexpected monetary burden. To cap everything off, my due date girlfriend is under stress thanks to the father of her baby completely falling apart, my car is still not out of the shop, and I’ve forgotten countless important dates and responsibilities. To say the least, it’s been a rough ride for me and those I hold dear. Stress + pregnancy = bad. How do you put aside these worrisome things for the benefit of your fetus? It’s extremely hard. I’m the type of person who has to feel their feelings to move on, so numbing myself to them is impossible. I benefit greatly from meditation but I can’t be in that state of mind all day. (more…)

The Folha de São Paulo publishes today the results of a study on air quality on six large Brazilian capitals: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Belo Horizonte e Recife. The findings of the study won’t come as a surprise to anyone who has spent any reasonable amount of time at a large Brazilian city and are a stark reminder of the high price we pay for living in Brazil: the air quality in all the six cities is below the limits set by the World Health Organization. The most polluted of the six cities is São Paulo.

Meteorite lands in Peru and creates a mysterious illness...curious, as sickness was not reported with other meteorite crashes. Maybe given enough time to unradioactivate, we can look forward to jewelry made of this hunk of rock just as with others from the past seen in examples such as here, here, and here.On a side note, it makes me very sad that almost all jewelry made of moldavite is terribly ugly. My favorite stone and they make it just seem like something kinda trashy. Good news is I do happen to have been gifted with one of the only princess cut moldavites in the world, made for me specially. At least there is one good example of jewelry out there to show for it. And better yet, it doesn't make me sick to wear it.
