I've been watching the Canadian Dollar closely over the last several weeks because of the lengthy consolidation that has taken place. Usually such sideways price action precedes a trending move.
Above is a weekly chart of the Canadian dollar and you'll notice in the lower panel the very low ADX reading. Many times when a market moves sideways and the ADX goes below 15, a major trend is about
With her divorce trial underway, Christie Brinkley has a long hard road ahead of her. And it sounds like things are already getting pretty tough. Why is Curtis recording phone conversations anyways? But w/e here it is if you want to have a listen, but if you are a Young Buck fan, its better off if you don't. Last night, I was minding my own business in Sears, looking for a lawn mower blade.
Because, God forbid, all the parts on the damn mower should work at the same time.
As I was bemoaning the fact that the Super Duper Diamond Encrusted Extra Special Lawn Tractor Blades were the only kind they had in the size I needed, I looked up and noticed an acquaintance I hadn't seen in years, and we began to

Carrie Underwood had an emotional moment during her concert with Keith Urban at The Arena At Gwinnett Center outside of Atlanta on Thursday. During a performance of "Don't Forget to Remember Me," from her album Some Hearts, the country chanteuse broke down into tears in the middle of the song's second chorus. According to an audience member, the singer cried through several lines of the song – then attempted to tackle the chorus but broke down again. According to a rep for Underwood, the emotional song was inspired by the singer's mother – and leaving home. In it, she sings: "Hey Momma ... tell Me-maw that I miss her/ Yeah, I should give her a call/ And make sure you tell Daddy that I'm still his little girl." According to her rep, "Carrie just got overwhelmed in the moment with the s
Who would have thought? An enlightened break down of the ABC hosted debate between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.Jon Stewart's commentary is very funny, and in all seriousness, absolutely spot on.Edit - youtube video removedCheck out the video here.
Check out video of Packer great Brett Favre breakdown during his press conference on his retiring. I have to admit, it got me when I watched it live. There were times in the past where I hated on Brett, but as I continued to watch, he gained my respect. He played with a lot of [...]
Amy Winehouse went to visit her husband in jail today around 1:00pm in London. However, upon arriving at the jail, she was denied the ability to visit with her husband. “They didn’t let her in because she was too late for visiting hours,” a source tells US magazine. “She begged and pleaded with wardens at the prison but they weren’t having any of it. The rules are the rules – if you’re late then you’re not going to get in. Visitors have to arrive before lunch is served. Clearly Amy didn’t drag herself out of bed in time.” Winehouse, tired, emotional, and stressed-out, left the prison entrance looking close to tears. “This is f*ing s*,” she muttered to herself. The “Rehab” singer, 24, soon found solace at a nearby convenience store, where she purchased two lemon and lime popsicles in spite of the winter weather.
last night, rapper Kanye West attempted to perform in front of a live audience in Paris, France. And he reportedly broke down on stage.
Here's how French newspaper Le Parisian reports it:
He said the word, 'Mother' and just couldn't go any further. A back-up singer, the DJ and a guitar player came over to console him. It looked like he might collapse. He just couldn't continue. He just stood there in a spotlight, crying while the band continued playing.
Kanye then reportedly walked off the stage, regained his composure and returned to perform his hit song Stronger
The French paper described his return to the stage as follows:
He was very nervous, seemed to have gathered himself up, and had a lot of energy. He kept shouting out to the audience, 'I need you... I need you right now.' and the public was screaming back. It was magic.

Gold Shorts are about to get reamed by the raging precious metals bull.(hat tip to Jim Sinclair for the great image)US Housing by Financial Times - 10/18/07 snips:In economic terms, “decoupling” is the antidote to “contagion”. Now, the notion of decoupling is itself contagious. Bulls espouse the theory that the rest of the world can shake off a slowdown in the world’s largest economy. Similarly, within the US, some contend that certain regions will prove immune to the general housing downturn. Official US housing data, released yesterday, showed a big drop in new starts. Worse, though, was a fall in the less volatile – and forward looking – number of permits. The National Association of Homebuilders’ confidence index hit an all-time low. Meanwhile, the IMF cut its US economic growth forecast for 2008 by almost a third, partly on housing woes. ... the idea that prime spots like Manhattan are immune to the general fallout is flawed. The New York Building Congress h
Britney Spears was photographed in what appears to be an all-out emotional breakdown yesterday.
The Toxic star – who was snapped leaving a Los Angeles supermarket – looked hostile as paparazzi fought to get a shot of a clearly emotional Spears.

I was watching a clip from Politically Incorrect the other night. Bill Maher was interviewing Robert Draper, the guy who wrote the biography about George Bush called "Dead Certain: The Presidency of George W. Bush". The guy seemed to buy a lot of what Bush says and does but was critical of his stubborness. He said that Bush seemed to be waiting on things as if a miracle were going to occur.
Normally I would just chock that up to the idea that Bush thinks he's literally God's gift to the U.S. of A, but I suddenly had a minor epiphany. I started thinking about Bush's life pre-presidency...

This piece of video, in which Tolly Carr speaks before his church on the accident that killed Casey Bokhoven, has really pissed a lot of people off in the Triad.
First of all, in the beginning you see the preacher saying "God's gonna help him get back to where he needs to be". And where is that exactly? The state penitentiary?
Then, Tolly starts off by saying "I would like for you all to first
OUSTED IN THE SECOND ROUND25-24. Boston College (7), Notre Dame (6)It's been difficult for me to root against BC this season for two reasons: I thoroughly enjoy watching Jared Dudley and Tyrese Rice, and Al Skinner's decision to kick his best big guy (Sean Williams) off the team for being a bad guy was genuinely admirable. It reminded me of the way Jim Calhoun handled the laptop scandal at UConn
The probiotic VSL#3 breaks down gliadin, the toxic protein produced from gluten. VSL#3 hydrolyzes gliadin peptides according to De Angelis et al. ("VSL#3 probiotic preparation has the capacity to hydrolyze gliadin polypeptides responsible for Celiac Sprue" in Biochim Biophys Acta. 2006; 1762(1): 80-93). They observed almost complete breakdown of gliadin during prolonged fermentation in bread dough. The ability to decrease the toxicity of wheat flour is a giant step forward. VSL#3 (www.vsl3.com), a commercially available probiotic, has previously been shown effective in digestive conditions such as Crohn's disease, IBS, antibiotic associated diarrhea. Probiotics are known to decrease gut permeability. This study confirmed proteins extracted from dough pre-treated with VSL#3 released less zonulin, the protein that controls tight junctions between intestinal lining cells. Zonulin is believed to be important in the development of celiac disease. It increases permeability of leaky gut t
